Love the idea, the thought of a dark wood chest with a gold lock bitty puts a smile on my face.

Well, if you can provide a basic texture from what the image shows, I can work with it. I have the model made, approximate to the pictures.

Awesome! I'll get right on it the best I can

    EDIT EDIT

Got them done, I'll IM them to you

Thanks, this could be a good way to show it in practice. It'll also take a while to get it to generate in desert temples, though I should be able to work that out.

Sad enough to say, But we may need to start from scratch with the models and textures. lokilover hasn't been around on the forums for 3 years

    EDIT

I also have been thinking of a way to redo the basic melee attack to make the combo flow a bit better and not require 3 direct hits.

Perhaps the golem raises it's arms for a moment then brings them down, giving about half a second to react and move away

Might I get a copy of lokilover's texture? I'd like to have a copy of the model, so that I may try to code a mod to showcase the possible abilities of this suggested mob. Of course, it will change as the suggestion changes, until it is finalized, and credit will be given to lokilover for the original model and texture.

Sadly, I lost the textures and models when my last computer killed itself. All I have left are the pictures on the OP

EDIT I'll see if I can get a hold of lokilover

Hmmm, depending on how hard it is to code, I could create a simple mod that could showcase this mob's effects a bit better (charging, laser, etc.). It would be quite hard, but I'd bet I could do it over Thanksgiving break (college lets off for a week during the week of Thanksgiving).

    I would definitely appreciate that!

Sounds great. I have few concerns though. So this boss has 50 hearts or 100 health, and drops among others 10 levels (which is exactly 225 exp btw). However, the Wither boss, which seems harder (especially on high difficulties) to fight anyway (flying, hella fast, strong poison effect, ranged attack, explosions etc.) has 150 hearts/300 health and drops only 50 experience points. You should either buff boss itself (I'd like this) or nerf amount of xp reward.

This thread was first made before the wither existed, the HP and stats are a bit different in comparison to the new boss standard. and thanks for the exp count =P I'll likely drop it top 50 from 225 and raise the hp to 200HP (100♥)

Also, fighting it seems easy: I can either make several pillars of hard material and hide behind when I need, or just build myself up even with cheap dirt and kill it with bow. Its auto-heal won't help much. If I may suggest, this boss (as it's made of gold, after all) should be either fully or partially invulnerable for normal arrows.

I could have sworn it was resistant to ranged attacks, this thread has changed a lot over the last 5 years and things have been lost here and there.

Not to mention that Desert Temples are rather small (very little amount of space for charging), and have a lot of pillars to hide behind. This place wasn't intended for a boss, it should be re-made bigger.

I would love to see a bigger variant of desert temples to house the boss, but that is up to Mojang entirely

Any consideration to the suggestion about it dropping an ancient power core? Maybe it could be crafted with a pumpkin to give your golems their power source. Sure, it'd make golem-building a bit harder, but it'd be worth it.

Perhaps, but it would be a fairly unique single purpose item.....

    Although....

A lot has changed since 2012, and it's now possible to summon the Wither and make the Ender Dragon respawn using a fairly single purpose item...

    Consider it added
As to how it will be obtained/used/possibly crafted still a matter to think about

    EDIT

Added new images, and reformatted some more of the thread to flow better

Also thought of a way to implement it in boss revival.

I support this suggestion, but all of the colors and quotes and fonts make this almost unreadable, for me.

I tried to clean it up, Is that better?

When it becomes active, the eye color should change, like to a red or black.

SO ADDED! How did I not think of that before!?

Side Note: GOOD MORNING MINECRAFTERS! I was shocked to see the recent activity on this thread. I'm glad the community still likes this idea!
The Thread has been cleaned up, reformatted, and has had a couple things added here and there. =)

Alright, there's a couple ways to go then if you want the villagers back. If you place a command block near each one and run the following command, the "Output" box in the command block will contain the full data of the villager it found. I can create a new /summon command for them from that:

    /entitydata @e[type=Villager,c=1] {}

It worked! Thank you thank you thank you! I know to be super careful with spawning stuff now. Hell, i'll even play it safe and create a new world to test it first! thank you so much! SOLVED!

At this point, I just want new villagers haha, some of the new tricks i've learned like "NoAI" and such really would be helpful since they kept running away before.

I cannot. It was about 6 months ago that this started. =/

EDIT: I'll try the delete entities thing first, using MCEDIT and see if that does anything.

Still painful, but I have to do what i must* i suppose. Would copying the blocks with worldedit/MCEdit break the point of this?

where do i find individual chunk files? aren't they stored in 32 by 32 chunks? that would kill my entire server hub.
