posted a message on Pre-Generate world for multiplayer?
Hi, I'm looking for a Mod or plugin that will pregenerate all the terrain in the overworld.

It could be either a bukkit plugin or a single player mod (then i would just drag and drop the map into the server).

I heard a mention of this on some minecraft community video or spotlight some time ago, but i have been unable to find it since then.

    any help is greatly appreciated!

(Please don't say "just fly around the map" :) )

posted a message on Building a Minecraft server, Question about hardware and bandwidth requirements.
Hello, I am planning on building a home server for my household soon.

It was originally going to be for home file hosting and home media streaming. As well as being able to host 2-3 very low traffic sites.

But i figured that if I'm going to go ahead and build a server, I may as well make one that is able to host a decent minecraft server. and after thinking about what kind of server I wanted, I decided having a personal server And a public server was the way to go.

The personal server would run about 5 people max.
But the public server should be able to hold 50 people, and still run smoothly.

So I'm wondering what kind of hardware you would recommend for this setup?
However I am mainly concerned about the bandwidth a server like this would take up due to the public minecraft server. So what upload and download Mbps speeds should i need to be able to accomplish this while still being able to stream online media and do other normal internet activities without effecting the server, or visa virsa? And anyidea what a reasonable price would be for said bandwidth?

Thank you for your help :)

posted a message on Adding 'Items' With Bukkit
Hello, I'm looking into making a pvp plugin for bukkit, and was wondering if it is possible to make a pseudo-item powerups in bukkit.

What i mean is something like a power up that an admin could place in the game map via command and also is visible to players. The only way i can think of doing this without a client side mod would be to make the spot that has the 'item' a ball of smoke particles or something else that is already in the game and be made to act differently with a plugin. Is something like that possible to do?

    Example:
In a pvp match there is a powerup in the middle (looks like a ball of smoke or something like that). Once the player walks through that spot they are instantly granted whatever the ability is and the smoke disappears.

Just wondering if this is a possibility.
Im not quite sure what plugins are fully capable of doing, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love this texture pack and used it as my default but i play 1.9pre5 and i wish it had a enchanting table and such, are you going to update it to the latest version?

Maybe, I tried to update it back when the first 1.9 pre came out, but the MC customizer site was not working right for the update. Also, I will be out of town for a month, so work on this will be absent during that period (aka during MC Release at Minecon)

So possibly no new updates till a few weeks after minecon.

However, i will try to add in the table, i have already textured that. But as i said before the customizer wasnt working right when i made it. Hopfully it will work today.

Thank you everyone! The comments are really encouraging.

But as for the Lava and Water, I have tried doing water animation before, but I find it very challenging. And I myself never actually use custom water when I use texture packs, so I never really noticed (I've never even used the custom water that's included in the FEZ pack lol).

I think I'll make an attempt at doing this, But if anyone wants to make a contribution I would really appreciate it!

To add on to the last comment, the customizer also seems to take blank textures on your terrain.png and add them to the customizer.

    Hey, I have a bug report :/

The ores with transparency are not working correctly like they used to. Ingame it just shows up as ore with no stone... so it's clear and you can see through the world.

I sent an email to Polytron, talking about my work and asking if they could send me some (unreleased) material from Fez, to help flesh out better the texture pack. No answer. So, if Polytron reads their emails, they should be aware there's people out there releasing Fez texture packs for Minecraft :smile.gif: .

    Sweet!

I was thinking about going through the new Fez videos and scanning for usable alternate textures :smile.gif:

Also, for those not following, FEZ has been pushed back AGAIN until 2012....... :/

I like this texturepack .... it seems nice and simple yet its unique in the fact that it's not retardedly simplistic like hundreds of other packs. :laugh.gif:

One criticism though ... the iron bars don't look like iron, they look blue, it doesn't suit the texturepack much? :wink.gif:

Thank you! Once I saw the style of Phil Fish's art in the game I new it had to be made into a texture pack :biggrin.gif:

Also, thank you for the criticism too! I will work on an alternate texture right away! Check the customizer in a few hours :smile.gif:

Wow this looks fantastic, thank you
    Has Phil Fish seen it?

Well I don't think he has, I havent tried to contact him though. Hopefully he would like it :biggrin.gif:
