While these added mobs and things are cool...
MOD API IS MORE IMPORTANT
I love my mods too much and won't touch any new versions until my favorite mods are moved to that version. And that usually takes forever... especially now that updates for the game are coming out so often...
Mojang is reminding me a bit of apple. Get upgraded to death. Mods can't keep up. I still miss aether.

SERIOUSLY, MOJANG?
Yes, they're serious. If you watched the PAX video they mention they have to rewrite the rendering engine and that's not a one day job.
Did you not see Dinnerbone try to fix these bugs? It was working until like a million bugs came and lag issues... Come on, don't be like that.

He says you are being bias and that lot's of things that you are stating are opinion. Just because you don't like them means they suck, I like them.

Etho does that, he has a fairly popular channel. If you mention him most people would understand what you mean.

Yeah I saw this too, added it to the OP. Thanks for the positive feedback guys, hope this will help and make the forums a much better place. Feel free to add pictures and video because those help a lot too.

One of the first things I'd like to say though, if you hear something don't automatically assume that it's true; do some research before everything goes wrong.
The first major thing that everyone is talking about is Mod API, yes it was pushed back many updates but there' s a lot of work to be done. I don't know how many of you watched the PAX video but I skimmed through it a bit and the reason why they had to push it back again was rendering issues. I don't clearly remember why at the moment but they need to rewrite the entire rendering engine to start the modding api. Now rendering is a very difficult thing, which also leads to lighting issues that people don't like. Also it's not dinnerbone or Jeb that's working on the rendering engine, it's Grumm. I'm not sure how many people are helping him but I'm guessing it's only 1 person with a little help from others.
Another issue are the new sounds, look at this thread: http://www.minecraft...the-new-sounds/. You there's a video that shows you that theses sounds were actually made way back in Alpha. You may not know this but there are plenty of sounds in your resource folder that are unused, for example the level up sound the was recently implemented is NOT from the wisp in thaumcraft 2; the creator just used it because it was there and ready and you would not need to install the audio mod for that sound. I myself used it in my mod a while back. If you don't like the sound, you'll get used to it trust me it happened to me when 1.9 pre release came out. I raged hard but I got used to them, and if you still don't like them don't worry C418 said there will be a way to changed it sometime.
Not really an issue but to save people from disappointment is that bats will NOT drop anything, if you're wondering why dinnerbone said that bats are just supposed to add atmosphere and they will NOT affect your mob grinder rate; don't be mad you you think they do. I hope they will add birds or fish to add more atmosphere outside, this is just my opinion though.
These are the most discussed topics right now, feel free to add anything because my knowledge of the development of Minecraft isn't perfect but I follow it a lot.

Edit: I don't know why but these new textures reminds me of summerfields food texture.

That's not the reason why, it's because all you did was put in the link. What you need to do is put these tags "[.IMG] your link here [/IMG] " without the quotation marks or the period in the first tag..
