yup, those were horrible. at least you can see the blocks you place now, not to mention that its usable in buildign with it deliberately should you wish to do so
yes, i was part of the sunfury team since before we made kalithas. i got permission to use the netherbuild as part of the ctm off course given i had to change stuff around a bit.

i am VERY proud to present a HUGE custom map project of mine, namely Fury Of The Sun! (dont forget to leave a diamond if u liked it!)
Fury ot Sun is a lore filled CTM with a somewhat open world feeling.
A CTM is a map in which the player needs to travel troughout the world and make their way trough highly hazardous places,
in order to find a set of unique blocks that they can use to complete the victory monument.
this is a special structure placed somewhere on the map. once filled, players can boast to the world that they conquered the map in question. that said, do you think you are up to the challenge?
Difficulty: Easy
Type: Linear branching
Objectives: 8
Playtime (approximate): several hours
Minecraft Version: 1.8
Every area in Fury ot Sun is unique and requires a change of strategy, and thus mixes up the gameplay quite nicely.
the beginning area is very cold but vulcanicly active. food is still scarce, but soon you could make your way to any of the other areas, such as the metropolis of Kalithas, built from trash and rubble, and rediscover their caverns where they forged the best tools humany has ever laid their eyes upon. or perhaps, you are more attracted to the crevice filled with water that will boil players alive? whatever the case might be, astheticly, there has never been a CTM quite like this one.
the combat system of minecraft is pushed to the maximum it can be, and will prove to be a fun experience for both veterans of the CTM genre, as well as to newbies. not only is a player that will explore rewarded for their efforts, but they will allso find ways to replicate such weaponry with the aid of some clever custom crafting.
the entire map, all 2000x2000 blocks is made in Vanilla and does not require ANY mods whatsoever.
making videos/let's plays of the map is HIGHLY encouraged.
this project took a year and a half to make, so please share your thoughts on it!

-u win by being the first one to obtain 300 loot
-u CAN steal from other players chests
-in all dungeons, exept for 'under world' the loot dropped usually gets transported
to a lootchest. be sure to empty it before others take your loot!
-the setupfase may appear to go slow, but once u passed that, the collecting of loot goes real fast!
-estimated playtime: about 30 minutes each game.

if i had to choose it would be linear branching, but its not quite structured that way
