I rate this thread doubleplusgood++
Great idea + use of paintings, I love the lowered curtains on the windows.
The idea of mountable weapons + armor is good too, me likey!
Pretty nice looking, haven't gotten it in game yet.
The side of the jukebox, smooth stone and red bricks in particular.
Though your inner-log and planks are pretty good too.
well since you have a window in your terrain.png that will need transparency why bother using two programs? Just start and finish with paint.net and be done with it.
Yeah I feel you Lilyo, not quite liking my outside either :/ But it really won't have a mirror's edge feel outside if there's all these rolling hills and forests. Anyway, still a work in progress as you can see by this newest screeny:
Heh, a bit much but there was too much green before, trying to fix that by making them trunks.
And a screen of goodstuff:
The new furnace, darkened green blocks and my lightsource/surveillance camera.
Big brother is watching!
Well here's what I whipped up today. Right now I have smoothstone and cobble both being the white brickwork because it looks good indoors but I'm unwilling to smooth out all my stone :biggrin.gif:
I'm trying to capture the colors right now, brick types are still somewhat up in the air (not sure where to put blue)
Now has door and lanterns (WIP)
The orange tile is sand and the green brickwork is grass equivalent. The white block on the left is dirt. The blocks on the bottom right are gravel which I tried to make look like compressed trash. I actually kind of like how that came out. Looks a little better in game than in the screenie.
A better view of how the sand, grass and dirt look in their natural setting. (water & duck aren't mine)
Gold, iron, blue, and wood. Not too happy with how the wood came out, especially when tiling horizontally but it seems to always be red in ME. This one is with leaves being green brick instead of grass. Dirt is actually grey on top but the sun lighting makes it look as white as the sides, hrm.
I'm open to input though any "you suck" comments can be kept to themselves. I'm no professional graphic artist and I know this.
Thanks! Any ideas on grass? There's really like NO grass in the original game that I remember. :/
I was planning on trying a cement type look for smooth stone, but I'm almost tempted to make the grass some type of cement. Gonna put that tile on the backburner for now.
The challenge of this texture is minecraft is all about natural suroundings which is the complete opposite from mirror's edge.
I'm with you on this one. My favorites are all 32x32 at the moment. Some of the higher ones have individual blocks that look really good in screenshots but in game I find the 32s seem to work better.

I find it surprising you don't like the green, it's taken directly from the game!

:Big Thumbs Up:
BTW how did you change the torch color? I want to change/eliminate the flaming part of the torch to make a modern light.
