So today I went to build a house...and apparently I can't turn redwood logs into redwood planks (harvested half a forest before finding out naturally). Double checked in creative mode and have the same problem. The planks exist, but the recipe to turn the logs into planks seems to be missing entirely. I'm using the current version of EBXL.

    Is this just me?

Hmm that's weird. Brown autumn saplings grow into orange autumn trees, orange saplings grow into purple trees, and purple saplings grow into brown trees :P

Yes, that is strange. Which version are you using? I am still on 1.4.7 and the saplings grow the correct tree....so I'm guessing it is something in the update.

I'm using 3.12.2 and having this problem...although I've learned that the difference is purely visual. For example, when the orange sapling grows into a tree with purple leaves...it still treats the leaves as orange. They look purple, but they drop orange saplings and when cut with shears the block is labeled as 'orange autumn leaves' or whatever...but still look purple. Does it do the same with you, jonathantai9?

Ugh. I have a problem. I do not think it is this mod that is necessarily causing it either, but I really do need advice. And yes I do have a backup file for 1.4.7.
I have this mod, millenaire, biomes o plenty, twilight forest, forge, and toomanyitems. During 1.4.7 I got them all to work, resolved id conflicts, etc and everything was going along nicely. Then I backed my .minecraft up in case I messed up, and proceeded to update all of my mods and minecraft itself in no particular order to 1.5.1 versions. I then ran the game on a new world to test if it ran, and it did so just fine. I then proceeded to run my main world which I have been working on for over a month. It started to load and then a long list (on the screen itself, not an error log) "ID 1...21... is mismatched between world and game." and it prompted me to continue loading or not to anyway.
Everytime I pressed no of course. What does this mean for I have never seen this before? How do I go about fixing it while not having to start over on a new world? Any advice and help is greatly appreciated. =)

I actually had the same problem, just using EBXL and Mystcraft....had a list of like 30+ items from vanilla and both mods that I could see (enlarging the window exposed more and more items on the list, implying its larger than could be seen on my screen). However, when I told it to load the world anyway, there were no effects and it never did it again upon loading up that world. I've had zero issues with anything in the last two days...but I was also greatly confused when it did this. Seems like Extrabiomes is definitely related to this issue somehow.

Because the recipes for slabs and stairs are explicitly provided by the mod, but the recipes for vanilla items, like sticks and boats, are implicitly provided by the Forge ore dictionary, which had a change upgrade caused by Minecraft 1.5 in the way that blocks with many variations (multiple blocks sharing an id) are registered with the ore dictionary. See this note for the technical behind-the-scenes nitty-gritty.

Ahh, I see...thanks for the lesson. Learn something new everyday.

Yes, we are aware of this problem. Someone had already reported acacia planks not creating a crafting table and so during the testing I did for that, I also tested the Fir and Redwood...since those 3 were trees that had been part of Scott's Bunyan mod that was merged in some time ago. During my testing I found that the Fir planks actually show up as Fir slabs in NEI (even though they look like planks). In NEI there are 2 images that look like fir planks but one is titled slab while the other is plank. It seems to only be an issue for 1.5.1 as I am still using 1.4.7 and it works fine. So anything that you would make from planks won't work with the fir planks. Redwood seems to work fine. I know that Mister Fiber is working on a fix for this as I spoke to him last night about it.

    Thanks for checking though. =)

So...why can I build stairs and slabs from the 'planks' if they aren't planks? Because I had no issues building either of those...now I'm rather curious at this point.

This was previously reported on the last page. I have let Mister Fiber and Exterminator Jeff know and they are working on it.

I just wanted to clarify on this as I ran into this problem as well...only it wasn't just sticks (it was a boat), so I tested out the other items planks get used for. I couldn't use fir planks to make any item requiring planks except stairs and slabs, which worked fine. Since only sticks was mentioned in here, I thought I'd post to make sure the team was aware that this affected other objects as well.
