I will try this, though what will happen if I do? Will anything be lost, e.g. inventories, world data, etc.?

Hello. I am having trouble loading up my server, on version Forge 1.12.2. While I would consider it a problem with the mods I have, I have launched this server before with the exact same content, and nothing went wrong. Things ran, and ran well, so I doubt it's the fault of the mods. Has anyone here experienced similar issues, and/or know a fix? I have attached a report of the crash.

Sep 25, 2019Crimson_Cuttlefish posted a message on MC Java Vanilla Server -- Multiple Resource Packs?Posted in: Server Support and Administration
Hey, is it possible to have a server provide more than one resource pack without using any special Bukkit/Spigot/etc plugins? I'm running a vanilla server with custom content from datapacks/resourcepacks, but it's a pain constantly telling each and every one of my friends where and how to get the datapacks' corresponding textures (they aren't very MC-savvy). Is there a way to prompt multiple at once? Thanks for any and all info regarding the situation.

If the external IP does not allow people to connect, your server isn't being hosted. Have you checked your firewalls? Something could be blocking it from either your computer's firewall, your router's firewall, or even your modem!

"Super Secret Settings" - it's a post-processing feature that used to be part of vanilla Minecraft. You can still see some of its effects when you spectate mobs, but the ability to use it in normal gameplay got ripped out. A personal sore spot for me since I think I'm one of like two or three people to ever make a resource pack for that feature only to have it completely removed not long after I did so.
I'm not sure if the image you posted could be done purely with a shader or not, but I'm leaning towards "yes". Certainly more likely than making it as a Resource Pack since the outlines would be obnoxious to pull off on every block even with Optifine. Regardless, I agree with Cuttlefish in that it'd be nice to see some more fun and creative shaders rather than just seeing how far one can push realistic features. Not everyone wants MC to look like a AAA first-person shooter. So while this particular idea isn't my personal cup of tea, I'd definitely like seeing it over another "realistic" shader.
Yeah, to be honest I'm not quite sure why SSS wasn't the first shader to be made after its removal. Would seem like a must-have for me.

In the Minecraft: Java Edition section of the forums, I see discussions for mods, resource packs, maps, skins, survival, and creative, but I don't see anything for datapacks. Where could I go to discuss datapacks? I've been using them and have some questions.

A shader would better replicate this aesthetic than a resource pack. It's really too bad that everyone is just trying to make lights look more realistic instead of making more fun things like the SSS, which had something like this.

I enjoyed Realistico, and anything that adds more connected textures (rounding corners of sand, gravel, etc.).
Jul 18, 2019Crimson_Cuttlefish posted a message on Modded MC on LAN Hamachi - io.netty.channel.AbstractChannelAnnotatedException: Connection timed out: no further informationPosted in: Server Support and Administration
If there is a better place for this thread, please tell me and I'll move there. This place looked the best for my issue, being a Java issue on the only board titled for support. I'm hosting a modded Java game via LAN on a Hamachi network hosted by myself, and my friend joining keeps getting this error:
io.netty.channel.AbstractChannelAnnotatedException: Connection timed out: no further information:
It's important to note that I got the same error when joining him when he hosts the same world, and that the error persists on vanilla, so it's nto a problem with any mods.
What I've tried:
-letting Java SE Binary through both private and public firewall
-letting Minecraft Launcher .exe (the only .exe I could find related to Minecraft) through both public and private firewall
-disabling firewall altogether
-two different IP addresses (IPv4 and the one Google tells me)
-restarting Minecraft many, many times
What I'm using:
Minecraft Forge 1.12.2 - 184.108.40.20638
Minecraft version 1.12.2
Hamachi version 220.127.116.113
Anyone else shared a similar experience? Does anyone have a fix? Any info would be appreciated, or perhaps just an alternative to Hamachi.

In Continuum 1.3 I am getting a weird thing where the shadow of objects like fences are wavy like grass. In the first photo, you can see on the left side the shadow is even showing on the actual fence. The block itself is not wavy, it's only the shadows. Additionally, when looking at water from glass or iron bars, the glass and bars look wavy like the water. I know this may just be an artifact of the way you do the wavy water and reflections, but it's just something I've noticed.
I'm having the same issue with rain on custom texturepacks.

The button to play on my MC launcher always says "play offline" so I assume it's stuck offline. I can't play offline though, as it's missing files that it needs to launch, and it needs to connect to the Internet to download them. I've tried restarting many times already, I don't know what to do.
