    Quote from Warpshard

I like being able to switch between versions with ease. Although I hate that the new launcher part is just an off looking white. I'd like it if they made it something like the top of the grass texture or something like that.

I think they're working on function before form, making sure that the launcher works properly and that any bugs are fixed before they make it look good.

I consider the End to be a separate sky dimension in space, but not a planet or anything relating to the overworld or the Nether, which I consider to also be a separate dimension, similar to Hell.

posted a message on Favorite Pokémon Champion?
I'm sure a lot of others on this forum, like me, are fans of Pokémon and Pokémon games. I haven't played all of the games from the main series, but I have played Crystal, Fire Red, Diamond, Platinum, Soul Silver, and White, and I hope to be able to play Emerald in the future. Common knowledge to any fan of the series, fighting the region's champion is a major goal in every main game. Out of your experience in playing Pokémon games, who is your favorite champion? Mine is Cynthia from D/P/Pt. For one thing, she's hot. The piano theme before her battle theme is elegant and intense, while the music during battle is also pretty cool. She has a variety of Pokémon that pose a challenge and provide for a fun battle. Cynthia is also the first champion I ever faced, so there's a nostalgic value involved in my choice. What about you?

posted a message on Why I dont like Minecraft that much Anymore.
Oh great... another one of these threads.

I understand what you're saying, and what the countless others who feel the same way are saying. You think Minecraft has become a different game than it once was because of additions in the updates. It doesn't have the same simplistic 'feel' that 'old' Minecraft had. I understand the feeling. It's similar to the nostalgic yearning for your first day in Minecraft - an experience everyone can relate to - when you were trying to understand the game and felt proud that you built a 5x5 wood hut. The thing is, Minecraft is unique in that it has its own little niche, in a way. Its defining value is that it is a sandbox game, offering endless possibilities. Limiting its potential by defining it by its 'old feel' would have lead to its failure as a game. In my opinion, the 'Minecraft feel' is still present and always has been. It has evolved as the game has changed through its development, but is the same fundamentally as it was back in alpha. Minecraft is about whatever you want it to be about, and its features allow for endless possibilities, restricted only by your creativity. I've heard people say that Jeb and Dinnerbone are taking Minecraft in the wrong direction, but Minecraft was never being 'directed' anywhere but where the developers wanted it to be taken. Sure, at its core the game is about what the title implies, mining and crafting, and it still is, but it is also about much more than that. Updates since 1.8 have significantly broadened Minecraft's horizons with new features that allow for new experiences. Because the game has been, and continually is, updated with new content - without any specific 'direction' - the game continues to be fun to play - that is, if you can get over the fact that Minecraft is different, and that's a good thing.

posted a message on Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders [compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2 via OptiFine]
    Quote from Dog_G6

Does the shader work with newer versions of Minecraft than is stated for it, or does it need to be updated specifically for it to work with newer versions, or is it all based on if OptiFine, GLSL, Minecraft and SEUS are aligned with the same version, or what?

I've wanted this mod for a while, and now that I've acquired hardware with high graphical capabilities,, I wanted to try this out. I want to use it on the 1.6.2 SMP server I regularly play on, so will I be able to actually do that, or will I need to wait for an update to the mod?

    Thanks.

Sonic Ether's Shader Packs are independent of the game version, but the core shader mod, GLSL shaders, is. In other words, SEUS can be used with any version of Minecraft, so long as GLSL has been updated to that version. The GLSL shaders have only been updated to 1.5.2, so you cannot use these shaders on your server.

Thank you guys for the response so far.

Do you have Optifine? It can something double your FPS! Is you PC laggy on other things like opening the web browser?

Yes, I have Optifine, but even with it my framerate stays at about 15 fps or lower. My PC (which is really the family PC) is often slow, even with simple tasks. Sometimes opening a web browser takes a long time, especially with other programs open, and occasionally the programs become unresponsive.

Tell us your budget, and are you free to building your own new PC? That will make life much more better and easier for you.

    Decent gaming PC -
    ~8GB RAM
    ~Intel Core i5 [Overclockable]
    ~Around 600W PSU
    ~Your preference on GPU

That's just the base on what you should have if you want to handle most games at a good FPS.

Like a lot of people on the forums, I'm a youngin'. At 15, my budget is only around $300 - maybe a bit more, or possibly less, depending on how much I owe my parents. I'd love to build my own PC, and my dad and I started to do so last year, but he became so opposed to the idea because of the work, time and money we had to put into it that he decided we'd just replace our processor and graphics card instead. I still want to eventually build my own computer, but right now it isn't feasible with the money situation.

If I were to upgrade the CPU and GPU, as well as get a new motherboard and possibly more RAM, are there any specific stores or e-stores I should purchase from to get the best deal? Do you have recommendations for which brands/models should I buy? With my low budget, how much can I afford to replace? If I can't afford to replace all of these parts, is there one that has higher priority over the others? Thanks again for all your help so far.

posted a message on Advice on Upgrading Computer
Hey there fellow Minecrafters. I'm looking for the help of members who have knowledge in computers for advice on potentially upgrading my computer to be more game-friendly, so to speak, specifically for Minecraft. I like to use shaders and higher-resolution texture packs to improve Minecraft's graphics, but doing so takes a toll on my computer. Using shaders generally drops my FPS from 100 or above to approximately 15. For these reasons, I'd like to know what parts of my computer I should upgrade to increase it's performance with Minecraft. I'd also like to know, in general, which parts of a computer do games most rely on. Does it vary between games, or is there a specific part I should upgrade to be able to play more resource-intensive games.
Mostly, though, I'd like to focus on Minecraft. Here are my current PC specs:

    OS: Windows XP SP3
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3GHz
    RAM: 2GB*
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6570

*I might not be able to add any more RAM. I'll have to check. Also, for some reason I cannot allocate the full 2GB to Minecraft; only allocating 1GB works. Even then, in the F3 screen, it says only 989MB is 100% of my RAM. Can anyone help with this?

If you need any more specs (and chances are I've forgotten something, as it is late at night), just ask and I will try to find them.

posted a message on 1.6 Could we just take a moment to recognize...
I personally love the new changes. Honestly, the game is easy when you have iron armor. If you still find it hard and are dying often, then you simply need to work on your fighting and strategy. For Pete's sake, if zombie hoards are your problem, then craft a bed and sleep before they have time to spawn. There are many ways to get food in the game. Swamps have mushrooms, grasslands have seeds for days, decaying leaves drop apples, and there are usually cows and pigs in abundance if you look around. For the first time in a while, I felt challenged starting out anew. That's why I play on hard - I want the challenge. The game could still be made even harder, but possibly only in hard difficulty. There is an obvious divide between Minecrafters - those who want the game harder and those who want it easier. If Mojang would add new challenging features to hard mode only, then we could stop having countless threads like this complaining about difficulty. Rant over; that's my two cents, whether you like 'em or not.

Heyo, it's me again. You stated earlier that I had been whitelisted (thank you, by the way), but now it seems that you have changed the minimum age to 16, and I am only 15. Does this nullify the fact that I was accepted? Also, in the multiplayer menu, the server gives me an error, "Can't resolve hostname." When I try to log in, I get an "Unknown host" error. Did I simply type the IP in wrong, is the server down, or was I removed from the whitelist. Thanks,
