Lily pads are not 'giant'. Some maybe are but everywhere I have been they are just small leaves in the river...
There are giant lily pads. There are also small ones, more often seen. I believe the entity with sufficient force idea is cool... and especially the explosion shockwave :3
This is pretty epic, I have to admit. I came on this thread thinking, "Oh, another nether ore suggestion..." Then I read it. Very well put together, very good ideas. Definitely not overpowered, but at this point, I think this will take a LOT of coal. How about... hmm. I don't know, nevermind. Lol, maybe just have like netherrack be a furnace fuel :tongue.gif:
The flower shown is more purple than blue. Also, lily pads can make a bridge on water, so they aren't completely useless.
Please, please stop saying that they can be used for bridges. I have addressed that, please don't say it again. Do you like my idea, or have any constructive criticism?
Ok. I understand now how this is unnecessary with water negating fall damage. I still believe that it is a MINOR (TINY) annoyance landing in say a lake and almost drowning trying to get up. This would give the fall damage reduction properties of water, but you can be on a solid surface when you land. This would be so simple to code, really, just make it so landing on a lily pad either completely negates fall damage or reduces it.
Yes :biggrin.gif: Maybe I will add the slowly sinking idea into the OP... I don't know how that would work though. It could be a cool think for challenge maps, like temporary platforms.
There are no blue flowers in nature (only shades of violet/purple). The point of the lily is the same as the point of the flowers, or grass, or leaves on the trees... To add decoration to an otherwise bland area. Why do they have to do something more then just look nice. And you can walk on them in game as well making for neat bridges.
Blue enough for me.
Flowers: Only way to make red, yellow, and orange dyes.
Tall Grass: Seeds.
Leaves: Saplings.
None of those seem useless to me. Lily pads can be walked upon, but I am giving a cool use for them. None of your reasons make sense for them not being given a use.
With the new swamp biome, lily pads were added. The look really pretty, and can be picked up and moved, but other that that, they are really useless. I have some suggestions for them.
Lily pads in real life are basically giant floating leaves, some big enough to support humans. Because they are floating on the water and are not very strong, they have a certain amount of give to them. My idea is that landing on a lily pad from high up will not do any fall damage, or maybe just divide fall damage by 2 or 3. This would give them an actual use beyond decoration.
A smaller suggestion would be the inclusion of a blue flower sometimes found only on lily pads, the Blue Water Lily. We have a yellow and red flower, but there is no blue one. A blue flower could be used as a different way to get blue dye, and maybe all three flowers in a crafting grid with some other stuff like so:
What is your Minecraft name?
CreapyNinja
What is the recipe for cake?
It's 3 wheat at the top, and then under it there is sugar egg sugar, and on the bottom there is 3 milk buckets. When crafted you keep the buckets, unlike when you use a lava bucket for smelting.
What do you like to do in Minecraft?
I build with friends and love messing with redstone. I'm not particularly good at redstone, but I love it.
Do you agree to read and abide by the Rules and the Building Guidelines?
Yes. I do.
I understand what you're saying, but ravines in the desert make absolutely no sense at all. First of all, if this was real life, how could sand stay in wall form? Also, the lip over the ravine would fall if it was sand. How about just make it so ravines are abundant in coal, but using world generation, iron and other ores will not spawn for a small area around the ravine.
About the food thing, I agree it is a little too easy to get, but this game isn't about starvation. With the new food bar, we constantly need food- which if you think about it, in real life, we eat a lot more food than Steve does, so it makes sense for now. Thinking about making food a little harder to get, for some reason I came up with the stupidest idea ever- getting a pork chop and using shears on it makes a fat free pork chop :tongue.gif:
