Ramps / Slopes: "It's gonna be jagged stairs. Earlier on I was thinking about diagonals and stuff, but I think the style is established now." ~Notch
Ramps will not be added. However, I would enjoy a purely aesthetic look when placing tracks.
For example, lets say I but a track so it forms a ramp. I would like it if a non-interactive ramp block appeared underneath the ramp. This would give players the ability to make slanted roofs, and make their mines look pleasing. If I put a ramp track on top of sand, a ramp of sand would appear underneath it. The same applies to all other blocks. (Or maybe wooden supports?)
No it doesn't If you want realism, go outside and try to punch a tree.
Also, if you murder a cow in a field, the other cows aren't going to pursue you to the end of the earth trying to kill you. Get out of your World of Warcraft fantasy world.
I was mining. I hit bedrock and lava. I was mining coal. I found 6 gold. I keep mining. I found some diamond. 6 diamond. I decided to go back to my house. I put the diamond and gold in my large chest. I saved and quit my game. I come back onto my game to show my friend what I found. I open my save and I am being crushed by dirt from my underground house. I just lost my house and that house has the large chest with the gold and diamond. I dug it out and its just dirt not house so I lost everything because of the game. I think diamond is cursed because everyone I know who finds diamond something happens. Whats happened to you guys?

Put simply, here are a few differences between gimmicks and features.
Gimmicks are things that add temporary value to the game like new maps, weapons, items for games. A few examples of this are new maps for Call of Duty, new weapons in runescape, Every class update in TF2.
Features are things that add permanent value to the game, such as new gameplay modes (Capture the flag, KOTH, etc), Prefix items (Such as the Unusual items in TF2), new/improved systems (Such as the new military screens for dwarf fortress, or the crafting system in TF2), or processes that can interact with many, if not all of the previous features and gimmicks.
Gimmicks are produced for the players benefit. Gimmicks die out within a few weeks of release. Features add more than a single element to the game and have applications that are always fresh.
There is no proper item that they can drop. At the time of the creation of them, there were no chickens and thusly no feathers. Until an item is created for them, it will stay as feathers. I personally want fish to drop from zombies.
This is a gimmick, not a feature. I do not support this.
It would become a feature if the blocks reacted like they would in biomes, because only one block ID would be used, and a larger variety of powders could be attained.
In the 8 pin combination room, you can put a switch on the obsidian floor infront of the iron door. Change that to TNT and that room is golden(ly awesome)

Also, you cannot remove/place blocks in the spawn chunk on multiplayer maps
