Oddly enough the best way to make a tree more regular is by doing the exact opposite, by making it irregular.

Randomly place some lines of logs going down the side of the hill, fatten the bottom of the trunk a bit, throw some large sprawling branches on that bad boy then go hog wild with some leaves. The ladies and the elves will love it.

For some reason, each one of these floating ships I see seem to just trigger the mental image from the movie Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy where the whale is falling through the air pondering its existence.

It really does look rather plain, but you could spruce it up with a mod. Something like this one would help giving it accessories and a purpose.

Short answer is no you cannot upload directly from your PC. Also trying to do so will only end in us laughing at you for posting C:\ blah blah blah \ screenshots \ something something . jpg

Your best option is to use a free image hosting site like Flickr or Imgur. There are many to choose from and come with multiple uses beyond just housing screenshots. As for using Steam to upload I've not seen or heard of it done so I can't answer that.

If you have a Dropbox, or Cubby, or some form of online Cloud hosting account for moving files you can also use it to post images to then copy a public link the rest of us can view.

I wasn't sure if I was going to even build any walls yet, I'll keep it mind when I get to that point. I tried building a wooden fort once, I agree staring at stone walls all the time makes you feel like you're in a tomb you built with your own hands.

Heres an update, so far I have the original tower, 1 house, 1 storage building, 1 Blacksmith, 1 Mine, 1 wheat field, 1 Granary, 1 Melon farm

Great work, I always like to see other people's survival builds and look at their farming techniques. Could you elaborate on the design of the melon farm? I'm assuming the farm is piston and red stone driven. I like the way the water conveys all of the melon chunks to one spot.

If the island is "Forbidden" then why are you there taking screenshots?
