I prefer to have staring contests with Endermen from my roof, luring them to my house so I can collect Eyes of Ender :P.

posted a message on The "survival" part of the game is bad on a fundamental level.
    Quote from INVINCIBLE_XII

From the last 20 minutes of reading this, I have gathered the following things:

    1. The OP is mad at this game and will attack anyone who says "I like the way it is now"
    2. I'll probably get attacked by OP for, I'm sorry, speaking my opinion. Silly me.
    3. Saying that adding more features will make this game a RPG grinds OP's gears.
    4. Anyone who does say "I like the way MC is now, there's no need for drastic change" will get the obligatory "hurr durr" and "OMG did you not read what I wrote?!1!" or the ever popular cuss-fest from the OP showing that instead of proving arguments like a sensible person, he/she belittles and insults them.
    5. Every "problem" posted can be solved by mods, this fantastic new idea that allows you to change the game mechanics. Imagine that!

    And lastly,
The irony and hate in this ****-fest of a topic is overwhelming.

All I know is, I like the game for how it is, Minecraft survival is meant to be simplistic and just to have fun, which is something that we clearly forgot how to do.

I agree. When you start denying anything you don't want to hear or try to act like everyone who posts here (no matter how thought-out or reasonable their posts are) is stupid, there's little or no reason for others to continue the discussion.

posted a message on Most important resource in minecraft?
I'd say saplings, not just because wood is necessary for pretty much any kind of item in the game, but because I use it (and other wood-based blocks) in almost all of my buildings. A diamond axe and bonemeal wouldn't be too bad either :P.

I'd love to have some sort of weather-themed biome like this, I only wish the Sky Dimension was being worked on so we would have something to work with.

Some of you need to file a lawsuit against your math teachers...

    $20.90 x 3,000,000 = $62,700,000

That would be in Australian dollars, which I think may have caused a lot of the confusion on this topic :P.

posted a message on What's the program people make models of mobs for ideas/mods?
    Quote from LeSieg

I'm not sure what you're talking about. If you have a good idea for a mob to include in a mod of yours a great place to start is always pen and paper, assuming you can draw.

I think he's asking about the program that can be used to get it from a drawn image to the actual videogame.

posted a message on Are you getting Lego Minecraft?
    Quote from Vekh

Minecraft is basically a massive computerized Lego set. My personally opinion on Minecraft Lego is that the theme is redundant. So, my answer is no. Not to mention the Minecraft itself costs less than the set you mentioned, OP.

I can understand why some people won't be buying it, but I'm fine with the scale and appearance of it. While Minecraft and LEGO both use "blocks", they are still very much different from each other and have their own unique fun and creativity. I'll probably be buying the LEGO Minecraft set, as (just like Minecraft) I can expand and build on the four little chunks in the set.

posted a message on Secondary skin & in-game skin switching
I like the idea of multiple skins, but I think it might be better to access them from the pause screen (In a list kind of format like Texture Packs). It would be pretty annoying if you were sneaking around on a server and keep on switching back and forth between skins.

Or when you go underwater, it doesnt affect your movement, you can also stand on the surface of water with the potion.

I like the idea of a potion like that, it's pretty balanced compared to potions that can let you swim through lava :P.

posted a message on Please do NOT make leather needed for new book recipe!!
    Quote from KyoShinda

Maybe you should get free leather for hugging trees? It wouldn't be that hard to add..

Oh no, not this topic again.. I haven't seen it for a while, but in the time it took to scroll down to the latest post I could tell that it had gone out of hand. Not everybody who dislikes the leather requirement is obsessed about the environment, and not everyone who likes it is some barbaric murderer.

..I'm going to stop posting now, as I don't want to help resurrect this fight once more :P.

posted a message on Players should hold blocks with both hands!
This could get pretty annoying when you're actually trying to see where you're placing the block, and I think the current one-handed block placement is fine as it is :).

posted a message on Exchanging/sharing structures between different worlds/servers.
    Quote from OneEyedMule

-Copies of other people's structures, but where there's supposed to be reward there's TNT/lava/etc. instead.
.......This would be great! The structures would still look good, but you could never depend on a treasure or trap being in a particular place. This is actually a feature :)

I didn't mean some clever trap or something that would be fun to find; I was saying that some people may copy a good, well-built structure called "Log Cabin" and rig it with tons TNT that could fly everywhere. For dungeons and stuff like that, hidden traps and mobs are great, but they're not made with the sole purpose of killing you.

posted a message on Is it possible to beat Adventure mode in vanilla minecraft?
It would be rather hard to start trading, because you could only really pick up mob drops to trade with. You'd also better hope that village you find has a Library, as there's no other way to have a Crafting table (that I can see).
