    This post is probably rubbish, but the only things I can think of are, first of all, do you have any mods installed? I don't think most are designed for SMP, so they might be messing up your SMP play. Second, are you in creative and you don't know it?

    Everyone wants bowties. I want fezzes. Fezzes as helmet, please? (Perhaps an alternate solution to the bowtie problem could be, instead of making a new armour slot, just make the bowtie a chestpiece that looks like a bowtie.)

    I died in sort of similar circumstances. I set it to hard just to see what sort of mob density there would be. The next day, I started mining. Then, I hear one of those incredibly scary noises. I decide just to make sure I'm on peaceful, but before I can hit esc, I hear this hissing sound. I turn around, and see about 7 Creepers.

    My friend (I'll call him A) was mining with his friend (who I'll call B ) on a server one time when he accidentally punches his friend. He tells B he has dogs. B tries to seal himself in a wall of stone, but the dogs get to him first. In a final, desperate attempt, he jumps into the nearby lava ... and A's dogs follow him in.

    EDIT: I'm editing because if there wasn't the space after that B, then it would turn out B) instead of B ).

    Alright. I'd like to request a mod which is actually a little different from Dopplecraft. It's based on the Doctor Who episodes The Rebel Flesh and The Almost People.

    First of all, a new weather. Solar Storm. Brightness rises and the sky turns orange. About as common as rain.

    Now, a new block, the rig. Two blocks tall, and the other purposes are described with Dopplegangers. Appears basically as described by what it's crafted. Crafted by

    Obsidian, Gold, Obsidian
    Gold, Diamond, Gold
    Obsidian, Gold, Obsidian

    Now, the new mob. Doppleganger.

    If possible, it looks just like your character, if otherwise, looks just like Steve. When the rig's right-clicked, a Doppleganger is produced in it. The player gains control of the Doppleganger. All the controls are the same as your character, but it has no inventory or crafting square and the 10 usable items are the same as the player's. Whenever any items are worn down or lost while playing as the Doppleganger, they're lost. However, no items are lost if the Doppleganger dies, and it does not count as a loss in Hardcore mode. The Doppleganger's hunger bar behaves exactly like the player's, and never changes from the exact value of the player's.

    Another new mob. The Goldfish.

    These guys only appear during Solar Storms and disappear otherwise. They fly randomly and appear in approximately the density of zombies in nighttime, outside in Hard Survival or Hardcore. They look like, well, Goldfish! They have 3 hearts. Whenever they come into contact with a Doppleganger, it turns hostile and teleports to your location. The player regains control of his/her character. In this state, Dopplegangers cannot use any tools other than the ones they were holding when they were hit. They have 6 hearts.

    Please note that none of these mobs drop anything when killed.
