posted a message on [1.4.7] The "How users call it" Language pack [How to update?]
Here's a few to get you going:
    - 'sulphur' for gunpowder
    - 'workbench' for crafting table
    - 'pick' for pickaxe
    - 'iron' for iron ore (no one says "I've found some iron ore" do they.)
    - 'gold' for gold ore
    - 'redstone' for redstone ore
    - 'diamond' for diamond ore
    - 'lapis' for lapis lazulli
    - 'bamboo' for sugar cane
These are mainly based on some of the early (alpha/beta) let's plays and, as this pack is meant to be, what people commonly say. I hope this helps.

posted a message on My Redstone Creations (with pistons and TNT)
Greetings everyone! I don't actually have Minecraft, but I play on my friend's computer and know quite a lot about the game. Whenever I load a world in creative mode, I've always ended up tinkering around with redstone, pistons, TNT etc. and, consequently, I've made quite a few creations that I thought should be shared with others, so I sat down at my computer one day, generated a super-flat creative world and began to rebuild, test and refine my best creations. The result, was this:

A world that unintentionally ended up looking like a stick man!

    More screenshots:

    The spawn

A TNT 'Firework' Cannon and (on the right) a Three-stage TNT Cannon

A Porticullis Gate and (behind it) a Self-reparing Bridge

...And, my favourite, and epic piston elevator that goes all the way to the top!

All of these were made by hand (no WorldEdit etc.) - even the piston elevator. The TNT 'Firework' Cannon is entirely original. For the rest, I've taken a common idea from Youtube and made it better using my own knowledge of redstone. You may use any of these creations yourself, but please give credit. Have fun trying out my creations.

Here's the map download: Minecraft Redstone Demonstrational World 1.zip

    Enjoy!

posted a message on Slimes leave behind a layer of slime
A nice idea would be that slimes leave behind a layer of green translucent slime like that of a slime the same way snow golems leave behind a layer of snow. This slime can then be collected using a shovel to give a single slime ball. The layer of slime could also behave like ice, making the player and items slide across its surface.
So, how does that sound? Feedback appreciated.

Edit: A reply I posted on 11 April 2012 - 04:08 PM (so everyone reads it)
    Quote from lordTWeaKslide

good idea actually but i think it should act more like glue and slow a player or mob down. also i think players should be able to take the slime and craft it into slime squares like pressure plates so they can be manually set down.
and it should have a downside to it also because as megaman pointed out it would be too easy to farm them then so maybe for every 16 you get you get poisoned or mobs are attracted to the slime?

I agree with this. I've read the other replies and have come up with a number options. See wich ones you prefer:
Slimes leave behind a layer of slime.
    Should this slime behave like:
    1. ice - makes the player and items slide
    2. soul sand - slows down the player
    3. a normal block (e.g. grass)

If this slime was to be mined should it drop:
    1. 1 slime ball
    2. 1 slime ball if you have the silk touch enchantment
    3. nothing

If the player touches this slime should it:
    1. poison the player like cave spiders do
    2. do nothing

    Thanks for your feedback!

P.S. Is there a way to set up a poll after you've posted a topic? If so, could someone PM me the instructions and I'll put these questions into a poll.
P.S.S Another idea. Perhaps the slime could make you bounce up if you fall onto it and keep you bouncing until you crouch - similar to the repulsion gel in Portal 2.
