    Now if only someone would do this for Tekkit, I wouldn't be spending hours trying to sort out what is what and goes to what XD
    Quote from justproud2b

    I have never actually understood that. You would think the mod developers would make a texture file for artists to make it easier for us to support their mod.

    But I have to play and download tekkit first... I'll try to do this as soon as possible, but I still need to see if the FTB thing really works.

    Thanks. Glad you like the new stuff. The dirt is something I'm going to be working on as part of the flora rework, which is coming next. It will be very randomized with lots of interesting things scattered around in it, buried, like stones and roots. I didn't bother to match it to stone and mycellium sides because I knew I'd be changing it soon.

    Within the next week I'm going to start seriously asking around for more FTB artists. You know any good forum threads or people?

    I'll search for some people. I'd am curious about how Daniel's textures would turn out XD I actually like xLunthia's textures http://www.youtube.com/user/xlunethia but she hadn't made a video in a while.

    Here are some artists that I like, but may not be able to make the FTB textures.
    -Glimmar
    -Sumpumpolis
    -xlunethia
    -Artist of ArthrysAscended
    -Artist of Soartex

    It's not much help, because I tend to be picky on what I like.

    I would suggest reading the pinned post. There's so many posts like yours, and that's why they answered it in the pinned section on top-- they are there for a reason.

    Seriously, people need to read this. I've seen many people saying how something's bad, and never give a reason why, which doesn't help the creator at all :/

    posted a message on I hava question about Villagers
    You can find all of the default textures for everything in your minecraft.jar, just delete META-INF, all of the .class files, paulscode, and some sound folders. Then you should see a folder titled mobs. Finally, go into villagers.

    So to answer your question, yes they are separate textures.

    There's a saying, "Give a man a fish, and he will have food for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will have food for a lifetime". My point is, you are asking the wrong question. The question you should've asked is "Where do I find all of the textures for Minecraft?" so you don't need to wonder if there are more separate textures, or if you can change the texture of [Insert entity/block here].

    Anyways, a long response, but I hope this helped :)

    I don't think the editor is going to help you. I use GIMP, but it's a bit buggy. I think all you need is to practice more. If it's an opacity problem, Minecraft doesn't handle partial opaque images.

    Sphax is like a whole company. (Not really, but you know...)
    Quote from justproud2b

    They have small communities behind them who help by adding support to stuff... I know I will be using this when I am ready but I need to get the default textures first LOL! Thanks so much for posting it!
    Quote from Nuttyprot

    They are multiple people working on it. Also they have supported a lot of the mods before FTB was released so just matter of updating and making a few changes.

    Okay, that cleared things up a bit :) Enjoy, guys ^_^

    Thank you very much for taking the time to do this, I have only found one pack so far (Sphax BDCraft) that has almost all textures for FTB. Hopefully this motivates some artists to make more, the pack has more users/downloads that anything else Minecraft related right now, so its really something worth getting involved in =)

    Just an fyi Soartex has every texture done for FTB. I by no means work on Soartex but if your looking for one they have it =)

    Glad you enjoyed :) How Sphax and Soartex had these done so quickly I don't know, unless there are multiple artists. I made this for TobiwanK3nobi, since we were talking about it. He's looking for some artists to help him.

    I don't know what it is about your new style, but I love it ^_^ This style is so much better than the previous style you had, which was somewhere around v19-v22, a couple of versions after Islands of Survival. Your iron door isn't that bad. I also don't know what it is about your diamond/emerald blocks, but I love them.

    You are missing the Minecraft logo. Not sure if that's intended, or not. I think you should randomize your dirt block, putting some bits of pebbles here and there. Maybe you can do what you did with your stone, make some of the dirt smooth and clean, and others cracked and chunky. Speaking of dirt, I loved the old one, but it just doesn't match the new texture. In other words, you should change your snow side and your mycelium sides.

    I'm glad you've settled on the new stone; you changed it so much over the years. I actually love the new texture, too. I think the random textures is a good way to go. You don't need to worry about half of the tiling errors you used to worry about (Of course, you should still make the textures seamless), and it won't be too boring to look at because of all of the variations.

    Overall, I'd like you to continue with your new style of texturing :) Happy new year!

    posted a message on [1.8.7 / 1.7.10 and earlier][update 4/23] MCPatcher HD fix 5.0.3

    I found the problem when I unzipped the file:
    inflating: ctm/myctm.png
    inflating: ctm/terrain198.Properties

    The filename matching is case-sensitive, so it needs to be .properties not .Properties. I fixed that and got it to work.

    I knew it was something simple! Thank you. I use windows vista, so it shows you the extension, but put it in all caps. There's no way I could've figured that out on my computer. Thanks again :D

    You do realise the numbers after 'tiles=' in the properties file correspond to grids in the image png? For 'ctm' connectivity to work, you need to complete the textures in grids 8-11, 24-27, 40-43 and 56-59. Currently, they are empty and need to be configured exactly as the example in the linked download below for it to work properly.

    See this to see where you are going wrong. Once you have completed the image png, your properties file should be edited to read like this:

    source=/ctm/myctm.png
    method=ctm
    tiles=0-11 16-27 32-43 48-59
    metadata=1
    faces=all
    connect=tile
    Quote from Kahr

    One more update before the new year. Various bugfixes and performance improvements. The improved blending method is applied to the fireworks flash overlay as well.

    Everything you have looks fine. You can even leave out the method and tiles properties in your case since those are the default values. Here's a test I did using your texture:
    The ctm folder contains terrain198.properties and myctm.png. terrain198.properties has only one line:
    source=/ctm/myctm.png

    I tried what both of you guys suggested, and for some reason it still didn't work. I re-installed MCPatcher, and checked CTM and Better Glass, but no results. I'm in version 1.4.6, if that matters.

    Honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. For Kahr, you said it worked. So that might mean I placed it in the wrong folder, or something. I'll give you guys a download for my unfinished pack, so some textures may be horrible. Probably another thing that may or may not be important, I don't use my pack as a .zip, instead, it's just a folder, since it's a bit easier to edit.

    (Problem is fixed now, I deleted the download link)

    Again, I realize some textures are horrible. That's only because I'm not done with this yet.

    I feel like a total texture N00B. For some reason, I can't get CTM working for the spruce wood. I am working on a 32x32 texture pack.

    my terrain198.properties:

    source=/ctm/myctm.png
    method=ctm
    tiles=0-11 16-27 32-43 48-59

    I've tried to remove the "method", since I'm not entirely sure what it does. If someone can explain that too, then that would be helpful. Maybe I just can't read the post. I'm not sure.

    I did add a ctm folder, and the picture is named myctm, although I am planning to rename it to something else later. I am positive I had installed MCpatcher correctly, I even tried unpatching and re-patching it. myctm.png is 512x512, just like my terrain.png, and the .properties file is named terrain198, for spruce wood planks. I quadruple checked to see if it was the right tile id number, and it was. I don't want to try the block id, since spruce wood planks have the semicolon in the the id, and you cannot type in semicolon as a file name.

    I feel like I'm overlooking a simple thing. I'm not sure, but I hope someone can solve the problem.
