Alright so our owner Colbinile/Denivire is on leave until further notice so our other owner InsaneArtist is in-charge so building will be going fast when ever we get the build server hosting. We actually might be changing to a hosting service which might be Quadfiber they have great deals and great costumer service. Give us some feedback on this decision because we will be opening an account with them soon.

Holy crap. I haven't done an update in a while. So let's get crack-a-lackin', huh?
First of all, we started building on the map, and boy was that stuff hard. If you wanna check on our progress (which is my next order of business/news) check out our new youtube channel called FalloutWNC. We already have 2 videos up, one of the spectacular Vegas, and one of the junky-infested Freeside with commentary by our one and only owner, Insane Artist.
Second of all, our original (or second, whichever) has had troubles with the host, so now we're not building anything, and haven't made any progress. This will slow us down, and I bet all of us are upset because of this. Hopefully, with your donations and support, we can get building, crafting, and giving right back with the best server 'round!
So stay tuned for some sexy stuff, some otherwise non-sexy stuff, and updates.

Yay! New ideas and builds are flooding the topic and our (tiny) server! It's great to see so many enthusiastic people wanting to help us! I'll probably be accepting the people with the best applications to join the build team. I'm also going to assign whitelisters for a (short or possibly long) period of time.
Man, I swear I felt like I was fighting the government yesterday. I want to keep things discreet, but at last we won the topic! Hooray! In other news (for us, of course), we have a totally new and fresh idea! They are called Expansions, and while I won't go into detail, check soon for a new update to the OP. *wink*.

The topic is up as of 9/5/2011. Hooray! So, closed Alpha (if I could call it that, we are so late in progress) is doing well (I use the term 'well' lightly in this instance). So, in good news the topic is up, and we are looking for builders!
If you would like to contribute (and be rewarded) for building/helping in general, there will be a hefty reward for all of you. Whether or not you enjoy the theme, you can still come and help, because who doesn't like building nice things and then blowing almost all of it up? The format to join will be shown below, closer to the end of the topic.
Remember, the topic isn't fully finished and will not look like this as a final product.

Faction Perks
Independence:
Local Militia: This means that they can call an attack on any base/fort(not capital)In less time, Originally you would give them at least an Mc day to prepare, but with this perk they can attack in 2 minuets
Spy's: Spy's and scouts are very important in war, not many factions can have them but the Independence has plenty of these spy's.
Warfare:The Independence Warfare style is too hit and run, Guerrilla Warfare.
Enclave:
Power Armor: The Enclave is one of the few factions that are allowed to use power armor(diamond armor) Other groups and Wastelanders do not know how to use this high tech armor.
Warmonger: The Enclave don't like to lose. When one of their towns, bases, or capital gets taken over, they only wait 2 days until they can retaliate.
Warfare: Enclave use normal warfare methods. whatever is more strategic.
NCR:
Tax: The NCR are allowed to tax the locals, if they tax other groups people this could cause some serious ****, But taxing the locals will give them money and anyone who resists gets the axe.
Superior Control: The NCR can take over any faction base in less time, normally it would take 3 Mc days, now it will only take 1 and a half for them.
Warfare: The NCR warfare style is any, whatever is best they do
Brotherhood:
Power Armor: The BoS is the last faction able to use power Armor, they can wear this mighty armor, and so can the enclave. Two enemies two strengths.
Superior Tech: The BoS have the greatest technology, they have handcuffs that can't be broken!
Warfare: The Brotherhood likes to fight with their tech, from afar loosing lives is a great cost for these people.
Soviets:
Fear Factor: This is similar too the NCR superior control, except it also scares citizens, Fear Factor lets you capture a base in 1 and a half days.
Cold Blooded: Many think the soviets cold blooded due to the fact they kill people with minimal warning, this lets the soviet only give 5 seconds before attacking
Warfare: Soviets are brutal people, they charge up close with guns, axes, and swords pushing their enemy back into a bad position

They say that it was designed by technological and robotic science genius Robert House. They say a lot of things.
New Atlanta still prospered after the Great War. Untouched, with nothing happening except people living their daily lives. But a band of scientists found the real secret of this place. They found a Chinese missile silo, with over 30 nukes ready to be deployed to almost every capital in the US.
China discovered that their hidden silo was being compromised, and what was left of the Chinese army came to stop this. New Atlanta was destroyed by war and you. I blame society for my wife's death. I blame you for the desolate and barren New Atlanta that was admired. I blame you for everything. So come face me, and come die by the hands of the ones you trust. This is the lost frontier, this is The Dark Solace.

The Dark Solace is a story of betrayal, desperation, war, and the effects of it. While you traverse through the broken buildings, the destroyed ships and ports, the raider infested metropolis, you remember of what had happened here while Freemont tells you his stories and his beliefs.
You will feel as if you went through this whole battle. As you go deeper into New Atlanta, you notice why they call it the lost frontier and the Dark Solace. As the highest point, on the smallest platform, with the two heroes, you will meet Freemont, you will talk-you will die.

We are implementing a new faction system with Major and Minor factions as well as sub-factions, here is the description on how this works:
Major: Current Major Factions; NCR & Independence, this is because they are the two factions in a constant battle with each-other. Major factions are aloud 50 people in them, and may have a 4th faction perk or something extra that Minor factions will not have. In order to become a Major faction from a Minor faction a Staff member will evaluate your Minor factions and then will confirm or deny whether your faction is organized, mature, and has enough people trying to get in it to make the faction have 35+ people, this means 10 people need to apply, when your faction is full, to even be consider for a Major Faction.
Minor: Current Minor Factions; Soviets, Brotherhood of Steel, Enclave, and..... The benefit is that if you are a Minor or Major faction you will be aloud more then 2 areas of land to call your own. In order to become a Minor Faction an Staff member will evaluate your sub-faction and then determine whether you can pull your weight as a Minor Faction.
Sub-Factions: Current Sub-Factions: N/A(I currently don't know this will be edited later) They get 1-2 faction perks, only aloud 10 people and must have 5 people ready to join the faction and approval from an High up Staff member (Owner(s) or Head Admin(s)) You also need a base or main area where you want your land to be(Must have a building/small town/camp, and you wont be allowed any protection from it unless you side with a faction and they protect it for you(Griefs will be rolled back and detected so don't worry about that). You will be given 1-2 faction perks for your Sub-Faction.
Groups: This can be formed by anyone and can be however big, but they aren't allowed any perks, They will be allowed 1 area where they can have a base but it will not be protected and most factions don't like groups.(Griefs and such will be rolled back don't worry). Be warned if you are a Group, factions dont like you, you wont get any perks, and traders will jack-up prices on you.

[center]Quick tip with whitelist apps: Try not to use cliches, like your parents died when you were a kid. Also don't put THE END or something, end it with you coming into the Mojave (unless you live there already) or you choosing what faction to join. If you chose a super mutant as your character however, you cannot join the enclave, they consider all people outside of the vaults or being a super mutant or ghoul as "Subhuman". Think carefully about the faction you want to join. Go to the fallout wiki, search the faction, find information and then make your decision. Be aware that that Soviets are not mentioned much. They are still communist in the fallout universe as the USSR didn't disolve in 1991. Here are some helpful links for factions. Also remember to look at related articles on the faction pages. Research your stuff! And one final thing, please read the timeline. After the events of New Vegas this is were the server leaves off.

Let's elaborate a bit:
Grammar: Grammar is a big factor into getting accepted. We like that you have a little dictionary in your head to get you out of a spelling pickle. Bad grammar is easy to avoid if you have the correct tools. Which is given to you on this forum while you're posting. It's important that you use the spell-check, and have a vision of what you're trying to say. Give us an image with your words. They are a powerful tool in life and getting accepted. Ol' Pete didn't know grammar from his mother's cactus collection, and he got stabbed by that cactus multiple times.
RP Example: Roleplay Examples are really taken into account. Why? Because we care about who we're taking into the server and how you would roleplay on the server. So we almost always ask for a conversation, or a scenario where you have to make us in-vision what you mean. Words and punctuation are powerful on this server, and when you're lacking the tools to succeed, you'll end up leaving, and not having a good time. Good ol' Pete's application is lacking and/or not showing his ability to roleplay at a steady rate, and that's what usually get's you immediately denied.
Backstory: Your backstory is necessary. It's another key to the lock, which in this case is the way to get accepted/whitelisted. Use this to your advantage, and read the title which says "1-2 LONG Paragraphs". This means we (the staff and whitelisters) are putting our trust onto you so that you can read that simple thing. Use your words wisely. We don't want a backstory, nor do we want something as short as what good ol' Pete made, but we are looking for something that explains your childhood to how you got to the Mojave in a 1-2 paragraph format.

The admins must hate me.
Well I'm leaving, really loved the server. If the admins weren't assholes and abused their kick/ban commands(Spartan is best admin. <3). Since of guns and texture pack, I would give this server a 9/10, but of very non-player friendly admins that abuse their commands (Chaos is a example <3) a 7/10. But, you'll be like "**** you, we don't need you to criticize". I know, don't take this into consideration if you want to, just forget about me. I know I will not make the server better or worse, I will be like a spec of dust on a NES. <3 you all, except Chaos, hope your server become successful. CoolDownPills

I hope I get this job, I really want to be associated with this pack. Because, most post-apocalypse textures are either, steam punk, or realistic. You know, steam punk isn't my style. Then, realistic textures ruin the game. I came to Minecraft to escape my life, but now, these textures are trying to make me have it in Minecraft. So, I hope I get in. I'm going to change my email soon, mine is too full with spam.
