posted a message on Is TU25 is going To be a Bug Fix?

If it was a bug fix in TU25, I would be really depressed.

I don't really like bug fixes.

I hope TU25 does contain bug fixes! Why do you not like bug fixes??
You like mining underground, and having a portion of your drops float up to the surface?
You like having your head in the ceiling when riding a minecart in a 2-block tall tunnel?
You like insane amounts of hostile mobs in the Nether reaching mob cap and breaking Blaze spawners?
You like unexpectedly getting hit by fireballs because Ghasts (still) aren't making a sound (2 years later)?
    ... Amongst other things.

Total invisibility in MC is achieved through the use of Invisibility Potion. To circumvent this through the use of an invisible skin would be game breaking. Therefore, I also do not support this suggestion.

posted a message on Survival Mode Iron Golem Farm

Unfortunately, those are the 2 best options: Lure Zombie Villagers into the pods and cure them, or bring Villagers in via Minecart. Tutorial videos make it look so easy when they're recorded in Creative mode. Building an Iron Golem farm is definitely tedious work in Survival, and filling the pods with Villagers is usually the hardest part. But if built right, the end result should be worth your effort within a few hours. Good luck!

posted a message on Stew! (Yummy! Yummy!)

As far as I know, the cauldron just holds water for filling potion bottles. You can't craft things in it like a crafting table, (Please correct me if I am wrong.) and I don't think a cauldron can be picked back up and still contain water.

If you read the posts prior to the one quoted, you would know that there was a suggestion to add a crafting interface to the cauldron in order to allow this. Also, it was never mentioned or implied that one move a full cauldron, as this is not possible. The idea was that the cauldron remain stationary at base, with stew in it, and you would take what you need in a bowl or bucket before you venture off.

My suggestion allows for different types of stew to be prepared, ("crafted" within a cauldron), based on which ingredients are used. Different stews would have different hunger restoration properties and/or saturation levels. Empty bowls or buckets could be "dipped" into the cauldron to fill with stew which can be consumed. This suggestion provides the following:
    a. more uses/recipes for food items
    b. additional food types via stews, and
    c. a better use for cauldrons, (as filling bottles from infinite water sources is more economical)

I don't understand the confusion over the concept of putting three empty bowls in with the ingredients and getting three bowls of stew out.

Mushroom stew already requires the player to put in an empty bowl to get a bowl of mushroom stew out, and in the PC version an empty bowl is required to get a bowl of rabbit stew.

Perhaps if I change it to this ...

    ...
maybe those confused persons will understand. I was just arranging the graphics as they would appear in the crafting table when I did the first
version, and the crafting table has only one space for finished items. I assumed people would get that.

I think the confusion in your suggestion stems from the fact that 3 bowls and a bucket of water are required. Why not simplify things, as I mentioned before? I've quoted myself here for your convenience:

    Quote from Coodworth»

Java 1.8 added Rabbit Stew. The crafting recipe doesn't require Water at all. It's similar to Mushroom Soup -- just the ingredients with a Bowl
on the bottom in a diamond shape. The Xbox or all Consoles can either follow suit, (beef, carrots potatoes, bowl), or do something exclusive
like suggested above. I support it, either way!

Agreed. I would prefer having another texture pack similar to Natural. Perhaps a Faithful 32 equivalent, or better.

... this and cartoon, and candy.. Now we have three texture packs that are silly and bright. Please stop.

Yeah. I would say four by including Halloween in that group. I expected it to be more "creepy" than "silly".

posted a message on "rare" drops.
    Quote from Syeonyx»

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of introducing the feature where you can see ahead of time what enchantment you're about to apply to the tool/weapon/armour/etc. but I think there should be a feature to strip enchantments from rare drop items like you can in Skyrim. By using the anvil interface, you place the enchanted item in with an empty book, and perform a reverse enchantment so you can retain the enchantment in book form for later use, and then smelt the item down into its base ingots.

I would suggest if we could have an enchantment stripping feature, maybe cap the experience cost at about 2 maybe 3 levels, regardless of the type or level of the enchantment on an item. That way you don't spend all of your experience on removing something like Aqua Affinity, or Power I.

An interesting comparison! I like the idea, but I still feel the same.

If the ability to 'un-enchant' was implemented on the current setup, I feel that the amount of exp levels needed to do so should increase based on the level of enchantment on the item. The exp needed to enchant an item from a book is always less. With a fixed cost, one could get away with obtaining a level 30 enchant on any item for a fraction of the exp. The low cost of material, (3 paper and 1 leather), and time, (a 2-step process adding only a few extra seconds), seems like a steal for 2-3 exp. Especially if you have an efficient mob farm full of skellies and zombles loaded to the teeth.

On the new enchanting setup, however, a standard cost of 2-or-3 levels to 'un-enchant' would make more sense. Sure, the same level 30 enchant could be obtained, (with a chance of others, too), for only 3 exp and 3 pieces of Lapis. But the option to transfer Feather Falling III from a pair of worn out Iron Boots onto a book, and then onto a new pair of Diamond Boots would be worth the time and additional exp spent! Plus it's not a feature one would be tempted to use all the time. "Protection I? Bane of Arthropods II?? Meh. Toss 'em in lava."

posted a message on "rare" drops.
    Quote from Syeonyx»
I have to admit that I find it a little annoying that I have literally no use for almost all of the rare drops that come from killing a hostile mob. If there was a way to melt down unwanted armours, tools, and weapons, that would be great, and maybe moving the enchantments from items to books at an experience cost in the anvil interface.

I support the concept of melting items back down to their respective ingots, (based on how damaged the item is). Even if it was implemented just for gold. However, I'm on a nether brick fence when it comes to the idea "un-enchanting". While it could be useful, I believe there would be less need for it if we just got the new Enchanting mechanics and could "see" possible enchantments before we spent our exp on them. At that point, moving certain enchantments to a book and then back onto another item could potentially cost more exp than just outright enchanting the item.

My expectations for the next Content Update are the following:

    1. The crafting recipe for Stained Glass and Stained Glass Panes.
    2. Some of the additions to terrain, (Melons found in Jungles, Double tall grass, Gravel Beaches, etc.).
    3. The new Fishing mechanics, and all things related: Enchanted Fishing Rods, Potion of Water Breathing from Pufferfish, and the chance of reeling in name tags, lily pads, or saddles.

Naturally, if 4J decides to add anything else, that would be wonderful and gladly appreciated.
