Dwarf fortress is free, but might be a bit too far down the bad graphics category,
classic fps games like doom or duke nukem 3d are pretty good. run very well on modern machines thanks to source ports.
Daggerfall is also free, but doesn't run too well.
Dominions is a massive Turn based strategy game, that uses large numbers of pixel mans and god powers. but is somewhat expensive and definitely a niche game.
Sonic Robo Blast 2 is a fairly popular free 3d platformer, its really good
Just take a break, Find a game that is completely different. like league of legends, or smash bros, or dwarf fortress. Nothing we say here could convince you your having fun when your obviously not. At the end of the day minecraft is still just a game. not a way of life.
Jeez, for a while there I thought I was on the Bay12 Forums.
Usually I hunt down a farmer, sell him his own wheat for emeralds, then I check around a bit to see if they are selling anything worth buying. If there is a particularly useful one like a priest or librarian I will take a screenshot of the coordinates Worse case scenario I'll trade the emeralds for arrows and move on.
Oh I guess I do loot the chests, but its not like they actually use them for anything. I'll also steal any exotic plants they have, especially carrots.
I have been playing since the snapshots started, I haven't experienced any game breaking bugs, but I dodged Snapshot 15w33a which was apparently the world eater.
If your going to update your world just wait until it is properly released, If you want to experiment with the new features, your better off creating a new world IMO that way you notice changes that might only be apparent when your building from scratch.
So far the shield has been okay in single player, Takes skeleton arrows without so much as flinching, I wonder if they will be enchantable in the final release?
Now for some Subtle differences:
In Skyrim you pick up every plant that you can find and hoard it, In minecraft you get annoyed cleaning up flowers that you accidently picked up
In Skyrim most enemies are wearing armor and you could care less, In minecraft you notice when the zombie is wearing socks and your always overjoyed when you get it in a drop.
It actually might be intentional, The fire slowly decreases in size over time before disappearing altogether. I don't know how THAT effect can occur on accident.also it still hasn't been fixed as of version c.
I have never been a real dedicated console gamer, I probably won't buy a NX for the same reason I wouldn't buy a Wii U, $300 for more video games isn't worth it to me.
I've always hated the "power" argument when it comes to games and consoles, Too many games could easily have been made for a pre-existing system with out compromising the gameplay (all I really care about) Nintendo always managed to make it feel like they were actually adding something with their gimmicks, Motion controls, the ds screen, the wii-U gamepad, ect.
graphics have always been a style thing. There is no direct relationship with the number of pixels used in an image and its perceived quality.

Wait. if entity collision allows peaceful mobs to aggro iron golems...
Can we finally have death by Bat?

Default, I like the look of large biomes, but it gets frustrating to try and find the exact right place you want to build.

I actually really liked it, Its like your knocking the hearts out of them.
health in mine craft is represented in hearts after all, not this abstract meter used in other games.

Not sure how I feel about this actually, Obviously it is a huge deal for pvp, as accurately timing swings between blocking is actually important now.
On the other hand it makes flailing wildly at zombies skeletons and especially creepers less good.
How many of us have gotten used to rushing down creepers in 2-3 swift swings before they can explode? does that not work anymore?
Its not a huge deal, even PVE can use a breath of fresh air but definitely something to test out.

even if they are useless, they look really nice.

Both have gear tiered by material,
Both have alternate dimensions,
Both have potions

I really am looking forward to it, Particularly so blocking with sword is disabled and I can use my offhand to place torches while fighting.

Dude, check the times, 15w33b is probably record setting for how fast it came out.
