Mar 16, 2012Colonel_Muffin posted a message on What animal do you think would be good if added in Minecraft? I mean which one will help the most on survival?I agree with birds. And ambient bird noises. I've used them in Mo's Creatures and they really add to the game.Posted in: Survival Mode
Mar 16, 2012Water that falls directly onto a block of wheat destroys all drops. For example, if you were to drop a bucket of water directly on top of a piece of wheat it would not drop anything.Posted in: Survival Mode
Feb 16, 2012So I created this quick and 'easy' CTM map for a buddy of mine so he could play through it on his Youtube channel. His alias is CommanderNapkin, so I fittingly named the map Napkin Shredder.Posted in: Maps
The map is quite different from other CTM maps. There isn't a lot of grinding involved, because you end up dying a lot. The traps are all created intuitively, so if you try defusing any of them, you usually end up with a face full of TNT. Try to outsmart me. :laugh.gif:
Goal: Find and complete "The Shrine". It requires you to find and place a gold block, a diamond block, and a glass block. The glass block requires a furnace and sand to craft.
Rules: Do not leave the map. That means no pillar-ing up over the lava/bedrock walls. There are some secret areas on the map, you can try to find them.
Tips: USE THE SAFE CHEST! It's the only TNT safe area of the map. If you have identified a trap, always try to defuse it. It makes everything more fun! Dig under brick! Oh, and if you survive the first trap, be sure to record it. Or, record it anyways so I can have a good laugh. :smile.gif:
Also, I am a troll, so I've made an extremely easy way to beat the map.
Here's the map!
Here's the first episode of his playthrough. It's a dual commentary, with me watching in the background and laughing. :biggrin.gif:
Also, I recorded some behind the scenes of the map build if you're interested. First episode is here:
Jan 14, 2012I've been playing around with redstone in the new patch, and I notice that redstone torches burn out immediately when power is applied to them. This means clocks don't work unless they run completely on repeaters, and inverters don't work either. :sad.gif:Posted in: 1.1 Update Discussion
Does anyone else have this problem?
Jan 12, 2012Hello, here are my observations of the bow enchantments so far. I am supremely happy with this update. Feel free to add anything I have missed.Posted in: 1.1 Update Discussion
First, a video that covers most of the enchantments if you want to see them in action:
And now the write up:
There are four enchantments I have observed: Power, Punch, Infinity, and Flame
Power: Levels I, II, III, IV, and V
Increases power of the bow. With Power V, one hit kills are very frequent.
Punch: Levels I, II, and III
Similar to knockback on a sword. Pushes mobs away.
Infinity: Level I
Originally, I thought it increased the range of your arrows, but it seems to make arrows infinite. For example, if you any arrows in your inventory, you will be able to fire, and none of your arrows will disappear from your inventory.
Flame: Level I
Your arrow is on fire, and it sets entities on fire on contact. I like it because it acts kinda like a tracer round. It's easier to see where your shots go.
Also I've noticed enchantment tables are less random now. This makes me happy. :smile.gif: Thanks for reading.
Check out the video for some visuals.

Jan 5, 2012I haven't played the new snapshot yet, but something that caught my eye was the change to enchantment tables. Apparently they're less random now which makes me a VERY HAPPY MAN. I hate it when I have to sit there and click for half an hour just to get a level 45+ enchantment.Posted in: 1.0 Update Discussion
Jan 3, 2012I too greatly enjoy this change. I don't mind not being able to stand on ladders as I only use them while constructing. They aren't to aesthetically appealing, so I usually end up removing them and using stairs. LADDERS ARE CHEAPER TO MAKE THAN SIGNS. It's settled.Posted in: 1.0 Update Discussion
Dec 27, 2011I actually had a noob moment today. I ran into the nether trying to shut off a blaze spawner, and got shot into lava by a blaze. Then I ran in again seeking revenge, and got shot off again. Then I ran in again and forgot to wear armour, and died again.Posted in: Survival Mode

Dec 11, 2011I'm great with tree farms, but usually they are built just for harvesting wood and not for collecting saplings. Usually, leaf growth is restricted.Posted in: Survival Mode
Now I'm low on saplings. Does anyone have any good designs for a sapling farm?
