Yeah, it's like a hybrid of the two. Main main thought for this was that the player has some control over the output, because it will be similar to what they put in, but it will still be rather random.

    NOW WITH VERSION 2.2!

The Mixer Divider Mod is a Minecraft Mod that adds 7 new devices to Minecraft and Most of them are coal powered.

It also adds other stuff, but I'm not going to spoil the surprise on what they are, but I think there may be at least 2 more tool sets, a new armor set, and some other things.

The main focus of this mod is trying out different things.
I wanted to focus on the player experimenting to see what they can put in and what they will get back out.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IN THIS MOD IS... Sometimes the output is random!
Be careful what you try out, because if the combination works, you might get treasure or junk back... or maybe something a little more dangerous!

    Let's see how this works...

As you see above, in this mod, the crafting recipes are hinted at in the achievements.

There are more achievements that do not talk of devices, but they are more like challenges like regular achievements.

The First Device hinted at is the combiner, which looks like this:

This combiner device... It's not really that useful.
It seems you an only use it like a 2 by 2 crafting grid since it's just a prototype.
I guess you could use it for decoration, or if you need to stand on something to reach a high place...

I'm pretty sure almost all the things you can do with it are safe.....

Lets look at what you can do with the other ones!
    Mixer:

This device can mix two things together randomly.
What's gonna come out?! What's gonna come out?!
    It's a mystery to everybody!
The only thing you know is that the result will be something in between the two materials used. There is also a chance it might swap things around a bit like shape, or contents, or material....

Let's take a look at the more powerful Fuzer...

The Fuzer isn't as random as the mixer, but it doesn't have as many recipes.
This function is a lot easier to predict, so it can do some small things the Mixer cannot...

Wait, there's no picture? I guess that might give away the recipe, so ...

Now that I have gone through the Mixer type devices, let's look at some Divider Type ones!

    The Refunder:

The refunder will refund one of the ingredients from the object you put in.
It's not always the most valuable material, so be careful!
Also, be wary that it may not give you back that much...

What about the Divider Device though? Let's take a look!

The Divider device can take things apart into two component materials.
It doesn't work on everything, but it usually gives you more than the refunder.

And the last device... The Extractor!

... That doesn't seem right... It's such an expensive device...
I'm sure it must have some other use, but what could it be?
The only way to find out is to try different things until you solve this mystery!

In my research with these devices I have discovered a few strange things one can get from them, so I will show you a picture of a few.

There are more things, but this is all I can show for now. Still can't show off some of the devices cause it will spoil the crafting recipes...

Well, that's most of how this mod works! Before I go, here are some helpful hints.

-I hear bottles O Enchanting can be purchased from villagers...

-Altough the Extractor works best wirh a bottle in the bottom slot, I hear somtimes you leave it empty.

-The Fuzer Device is heavily Alchemy based, so I wonder, if you can do anything with potions...

-I heard there are many ways to combine ICe with things, though many are not very useful

-I heard The Extractor can pull the element of Ice from a particular kind of bucket.

I may add more sometime later, but for now... I guess that's it!

    Changelog:

    Early Version:
    -Added Mixer and Divider

    Version 1.6.4:
    -Added combiner and Refunder Devices.
-Rebalanced recipes to not be as grindy.
-Added secret item you might find by accident.

    Version 1.7.10, 2.0
-Changed the recipes to make them more interesting
-Changed textures to reflect new recipes
    -Added Achievments!
    -Added Creative tab
-Devices are more powerful now! More combinations available

    Version 1.7.10, 2.1

    -Added Challenge achievements!

-Discovered some combinations are now DANGEROUS! There aren't many, but be careful if you do find one...

-Added the Freezer. It's not very useful, but it can be an easy way to obtain some mod items.

-Devices have been powered up! More combinations, things are starting to get a little out of hand with the buckets...

    Version 1.7.10, 2.2

    -Added Another bucket

-Added a different kind of Jack o Lantern

-Added a variation on normal ores. Not the most creative variation, but I think it fits the mod pretty well.

-Some kinds of Elemental Fragments can be bottled now somehow. Some are dangerous, some are not.

-Fixed some stuff, mostly with crafting recipes.

    Next Version:

    ???

-Maybe more uses for Elemental Fragments?

-Hopefully more strange variations on normal stuff to vary up the mod some more.

There are some things I would like to add, but due to being new at modding, I am not sure how to do this stuff.
If someone wants to help, or knows a tutorial that might help, I would greatly appreciate it.

-Some more achievements relating to the Extractor, but I don't really know how to get them to work...

-Two or more hostile mobs(Maybe not what you think)
-Figuring out if some recipes would be over powered and other balance stuff
-Most Devices have multiple functions. you can switch between them with tabs. You can switch between them without closing the GUI while you are holding an item.
-Compatibility with other mods (allow other mod makers to add new Mix Divide Recipes)
-A New kind of exploding block Entity that is not PrimedTNT, but can leave behind lava or hostile mobs when it explodes
    -A strange kind of boat

    -Some custom potion effects

-Some stuff with NBT, like mixing together stuff and having NBT reflect a mix of the other two (fireworks)
-Some dangerous items that make stuff happen if you close the gui or place them in your inventory

posted a message on Cows eat Mycelium
Considering the way this affects game balance...
Mooshrooms are rare, and only spawn in mushroom biomes or from breeding other mooshrooms. Since Mycelium requires silk touch to harvest and mushroom biomes are so rare, this would be difficult to do.
Red mushrooms come from Mooshrooms. If cows can eat Mycelium it would give the player a different way to farm red mushrooms. Since it already requires that you went to a mushroom biome with the extra rare silk touch enchantment, an easy red mushroom farm would be a nice reward and a fun side quest to go after.

    I support.

posted a message on Can't get GUI to appear Forge 1.6.4
I'm making a mod in Minecraft 1.6.4 using the tutorial from ScratchForFun: https://www.youtube....chForFun/videosI plan to start with a furnace as a base, then change it to the combiner device later. The problem is that I can't get the GUI to appear when I right click, but I have no idea where the problem could be. It might even be something as simple as a minor typo.I can place the block and click it without crashing, and I have tried to get it to simply use vanilla furnace GUI but that didn't work either. I can supply more info if necessary. This is what I have so far: http://www.mediafire...od Packages.zip

Edit: I had a talk with someone about this and they pointed out where the problem may be, but I still can't figure out how to fix it.They said the problem may be in the GuiHandler class, getServerGuiElement method.Something about Tileentity instances. I don't really get it, but maybe someone here knows what's going on.

I like the idea but it's confusing the way it works. Looks cool anyway.

    Quote from Sticky_Slime

The process of switching resource packs to play sounds kind of tedious. Ehhhh...

I guess it's kind of innovative.

I know. I thought it would be interesting to introduce the idea of switching packs during a map because of how it can be used in other adventure maps.
It's a lot easier to play with two players, but something like this has not been done before, so I hope that someone with a lot more skill at map making may take this idea and make something a lot cooler with it.

    Quote from Dreknathal

I loved the concept, but found the pack swapping to be kind of tedious and time-consuming. If only there was a way to have it happen instantly in the game.
The map was very short, too. Like, very very short.

Did you go through the "challenge Course" after the first three rooms?
If you did and still think it's short I understand. Building large areas and stuff is not something I have mastered yet. Thanks anyway for the complement!
    Quote from TheSuperium

This is actually really imaginative.. switching between resource packs. Sounds fun :D

    That looks awesome! Amazing concept!

posted a message on Minecraft: Dark & Light
Note: This map was created for Minecraft 1.7.9 or higher.

For one player, use the above demonstration to switch between the Light pack and Dark pack
For two players, One uses the Light pack, the other uses the Dark one. Cooperation is Key!

--Story: You have been invited by the researcher Dr. D to test out his new Light and Darkness Theory! Complete his testing area!

Rules and stuff: Don't break blocks unless it looks like you should... etc. etc. The usual stuff.
ALSO! Only use the Light and Dark packs while in the testing area, because there isn't much point in playing the map without them.

Remember! You may take a peak at the packs before hand, but it may be funner to play the map first so they will be a surprise!

    Optional:
If you want, you may change your character texture to have goggles, magic, or something that they are using to "test out his theory" of light and dark. This is just a fun little suggestion that is not necessary to enjoy the map

    Download Here: http://www.mediafire... & Light v2.zip

To install, unzip the folder and open it. Inside is one folder containing the map, and the other containing the resource packs. Just plonk them in like usual. Make sure you check you have the right folders before you do. I'm sorry if this is confusing, I haven't packed maps with packs before this.

posted a message on Strange Mobs you can make with /Summon
I have discovered a trick that I don't think a lot of people know about using the /Summon Command.
It's possible it has been posted about before, but I couldn't find it.

You can create mobs that will poison or heal players when defeated.
To create such a mob, you need to make a command like this:

    /summon ThrownPotion ~-5 ~ ~ {Potion:{id:373,Damage:16453,Count:1}, Riding:{id:"Skeleton"}}

It will create a Skeleton that appears to have a potion inside it, and the potion will drop when the skeleton is defeated!

This works for other mobs as well, and you can also use custom potions

    /summon ThrownPotion ~ ~3 ~ {Potion:{id:373,Damage:16417,Count:1,tag:{CustomPotionEffects:[{Id:11,Amplifier:1,Duration:2000},{Id:4,Amplifier:2,Duration:2000},{Id:18,Amplifier:3,Duration:100}]}}, Riding:{id:Zombie}}

The damage determines what the potion looks like.

If you want to create a potion that will splash when attacked without the mob, use this:

    /summon ThrownPotion ~-5 ~ ~ {Potion:{id:373,Damage:16453,Count:1}, Riding:{ id:Painting,Riding:{id:"Arrow"} }}

    Pictures:
The creeper riding an arrow is a creeper that will not move. It acts like a land mine or Proximity Bomb of some sort

There are probably ways to use this that I have not thought of.

posted a message on Texture Pack Puzzle Map?
With the recent changes to the way texture packs work, you can change them without exiting the map.
So why can't you build a map around this idea?

You could have one where some enemies are invisible but you can now see some blocks that you couldn't before, or make one reveal secret messages on paintings like the Davinci code. I don't think anyone has tried this before and was not able to find anywhere where anyone has tried yet. I'm sorry if it has been done before, but as far as I know it doesn't yet.

The main reason I'm posting this is because I would like to see where experienced map makers could take this, or to see if this idea has been considered yet with the new settings changes.
I was originally going to make one myself, but I feel I would not be able to fully unlock it's potential and am having extreme difficulty making one.

    Pros:
-New map idea that utilizes only vanilla Minecraft and texture packs.
-Unique idea that can be used to set up interesting puzzles and challenges
-There are probably tons of things you could do with this I didn't think of

    Cons:
-Depending on how complicated you want it, you would have to make multiple texture packs.
-Switching texture packs on fancy settings or a slow computer can be a problem.

If someone has made such a map, I apologize, but I also hope this would still add to the already varied types of Minecraft maps people make. Also, I wasn't sure where to post this, so if it's in the wrong section I apologize for that too.

posted a message on Return to a Cursed Relaxing PvP Island Getaway
This is like a sequel to my original map here: http://www.minecraft.../#entry18888361
This actually has something to it though

    Map Info:
    1-2 Players
    Survival Mode
    Easy or Harder difficulty
Keep Inventory on drop... on or off, whichever you want
    Mob Griefing Off

    The Story:
One of your friends mentioned that the PvP Island you went to is undergoing some sort of "exciting renovations" and that you should set up a match there! To get there you went to the closest branch of the company "Freshtastic Foods" that owns the island to use one of their "Freshtastic Island Teleporter"s.
Unfortunately unknown to you, it has been taken over by an evil force!
To stop this evil force from taking over the world you have to stop it!
    but how?

The following advertisement is sponsored by Freshtastic Foods:
"Hello. I'm Spleef Swanson, and I am here today to tell you how Freshtastic Foods helped me. When I'm going to spleef, I wear Freshtastic Foods Brand Protective Spleefing Helmet.
It protects me from any kind of fall ever. What do I do if I do fall? I also eat Freshtastic Foods Arti-Zen Cooked Salted Pork Steak. It gives me the health and manliness I need to win every Spleef game I need to win! So thank Freshtastic Foods, and eat the Freshtastic Food!"
