posted a message on Placemod (Fast Schematic Spawning System)

I've found a pretty serious glitch. I've been finding invisible walls around and inside many structures, and upon using the worldedit wand on blocks around that structure, the blocks in that structure turn into other blocks (i.e., grass, stone, dirt, etc.) while more blocks appear where the invisible walls are. My guess is that the structures are not "replacing" blocks already in the world and are instead "stacking" over them somehow.

Is it possible to make the piano play the church organ sound for the 1.9 version? Because otherwise you need to add that instrument. :)

I'm using mapwriter, and the resource pack is causing some issues with the minimap and fullscreen map--colors get weird, bizarre black and red spots in mountains and forests, etc.

I'm holding the sheet and right-clicking but no GUI comes up at all. EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.

Another bump. I also changed the title as I assume half the reason people have not replied is because they saw "bed placement" and assumed it's the same old PEBCAK error of trying to place a bed on glass blocks, half-slabs or areas without enough space. Sorry about the bumping, but I've googled this again and again and there still aren't any other people I can find that have this specific problem (as in minus the aforementioned PEBCAK error).

Bump because this problem is getting to be even more annoying.

posted a message on Bed Glitch

I'm trying to place a bed on full wooden planks (NOT half-slabs). There is ample room on ALL sides of the area I want to place it... but it won't place. Ever. I log out and back in, nothing. I destroy/recreate the blocks, nope. I replace the blocks with something else--nada. And yet you can place beds on the exact same type of block with the exact same amount of empty space elsewhere, but not where the bed needs to go in my creation. This has NEVER happened before. None of the mods I am using have ever caused this problem in the past. I'm at my wit's end here, and not one single thread (at least as far as google is concerned) in existence has my specific problem. All of the other bed placement problem threads I can find have to do with half-slabs and lack of room, but not my problem, and I have zero clue what's going on or how to fix it. Please help!

posted a message on Castle building tips

I've got kind of a specific look in mind and can't quite find good inspiration using google. My castle (at least, the concept in my head) is the seat of a military empire (though a good one, not an evil one) with a fairly honorable emperor. I'm looking to build something that can convey imperial might, but also look "noble". The closest I could find to the style I'm going for is Hyrule Castle from A Link to the Past, but that's somewhat plain-looking compared to what I'm trying to come up with. I would also like some tips on how to get the look I'm going for--what kinds of colors go well with the "prosperous, noble kingdom" theme? What kind of physical features tend to imply military strength?

posted a message on Fantasy Castle Design Ideas/Suggestions/Tips?

I'm looking to build a medieval fantasy-inspired castle, but I can't seem to find proper inspiration for the look I'm going for. The idea in my mind is that it belongs to the Emperor of Remia (but unlike most Emperors and Empires, this one is a good guy, ruling over a military empire albeit one with a strong sense of honor) and overlooks a port city.

Basically, I'm looking to make a castle that can reflect military power and imperial majesty, but still look bright and noble. I kind of have something AKIN to Hyrule Castle from the Zelda franchise in mind, but not specifically that. Any examples of potential inspirations, or tips on design based on the criteria? If you're someone who is good at building fantasy castles, how would you go about building it (generally speaking)? I'd just kind of like to be pointed in the right direction here without having to copy someone else's creation.

posted a message on Ships Mod - Build sailable ships out of blocks

I wonder if there's a way to make a kind of docking mechanism for the ship to come into port. Not as part of this mod, mind you, just making one in the game. Like, say, the ship goes into an area of water near land, docks, then have a drawbridge or something extend from a pier to your ship allowing you to get off the ship directly onto land, or something to that effect. Then when you want to sail again, you get it to retract, thus allowing you to launch the ship again. It would definitely have to involve mods like mechworks for the drawbridge, though, and some way to either have the drawbridge detect something there to extend to, or some remote control thing to make it extend/retract while you're on the ship deck....
