posted a message on Looking for: Zombie infection, SDK's Gun Mod
I remember a while ago, I used to play on a SMP server which had some sort of nifty zombie infection mod. There were several maps which would cycle. One person would randomly be infected, then would have to go around and try to infect the other people. There were different guns scattered around the maps, in ruined buildings, etc.

So anyway, I can't remember which server this was, and I want to play again! I'm not sure if this specific server is still up, but if anyone here can point me in the direction of a server with SDK's and a zombie infection mod, I'll be eternally grateful!

I love the mod, and want to make the snow more extreme, but the config file didn't generate. Should I do it manually or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Oh lord, another one of these extremely simple obvious-beginner mods.
It's fine that you make mods like this, but the Released Mods section is more for mods that actually do things significant. All you've done here is add a few crafting recipes, to do something that could be done much easier with TMI or SPC or any number of other, bigger mods. Why in the world would somebody want crafting recipes like this for a legit map? They wouldn't. And if someone wants unlimited resources in survival mode, they'll use TMI.
tl;dr: This mod has no real applications and, to be honest, is definitely way too simple.

    posted a message on [1.4.7]Wireless Redstone v1.6.1
Before I start whining about how it doesn't work, I have to say that I love this mod. It's a long-standing idea come to life, with features like the sniffer and triangulator that are excellent additions. It's great for setting off explosives from a distance, or for complex redstone circuits. A good example of this is setting off nukes, like the ones contained in SDK's gun mod. SDK's mod on its own works fine for me, but when I install this mod, I run out of terrain sprite indices. I know this is a fairly common problem, but I can't find any current (or even close) fixes for this.

So I'd love it if someone could either direct me to a working fix that I've been stupid enough to overlook, or, if ali4z is reading this, I'd like to put into your mind the possibility of adding more sprites to the mod. It seems to be quite complicated, from what I've seen, especially since I know absolutely nothing about modding, but that would be a great addition to the mod. Who knows, it could even be a separate mod entirely!
    Thanks!

    Quote from lazereye210

permission? i used mcp60 and eclipse... is that legal?

A mod pack is a collection of mods created by different people and assembled by one person, who gives full credit to the makers of the mods in question. You will need to clarify, format your title correctly, and if this is indeed a mod pack and not a mod, give full credit to the creators of the mods.
It's only your mod if you coded the entire thing yourself or if you have express permission from the original owner to take credit for their work.
It's only illegal if you take credit for someone else's work.
Also, you will want to put up a LOT more information about such things as the contents, and maybe screenshots if it's a mod you've uploaded. Otherwise, absolutely nobody will download it.
I would also format the title correctly. It's a requirement in this forum section. The correct title of this thread would be something like "[1.2.3] Custom Homemade Modpack"

the file is called "configIslands.txt" and it in your .minecraft folder as of the 1.0 release

That's what I thought, but nope! No such file. Closest is 'config.txt.'
I'll try creating it myself, and see if that works.
EDIT: Made the file, copied someone's configuration. No differences.

I can't find the config file, where is it? I've had a lot of mods along the way, so my .minecraft is stuffed full of config files which I may or may not use anymore, so it's become sort of hard to find anything in there.
    Hooray for e-hoarding!

That appears to be a torch...

Yup, I put the torch there in an attempt to get some lighting and sense of scale, but light doesn't happen in the Void.

    Quote from Megahaosguy

The only way for this to happen is if you made the hole, or possibly some debug feature in a new snapshot that was left in.

Well, I did indeed make the hole to get down there.
And this is Minecraft 1.1. I usually don't like downloading snapshots until they become official, because most people don't bother updating their mods for something that might change.

Still no idea what those things could be!

are you sure it wasnt some sort of block glitching out? for instance did you have tnt near bedrock level? or maybe it was something spawning and going in a fritz?

Nope, all there is nearby is a hole going straight down!
The things haven't done anything bad to my world, and my game's working fine, but I just wanted to share the screenshots on the forum and see if anyone else has had this glitch and if so what caused it.

I'm going to bed now, I'll check back in tomorrow morning!

posted a message on And what is this?
So I was in Creative mode and I wanted to see how far into the Void I could go before I started taking damage.
I never figured this out, but I DID discover these two weird things:

I only took the one screenshot, then I hit Save and Quit to Title to upload it, but when I finished typing the first few sentences in this topic and got back to my world, they were gone...:

They were apparently entities, since I could pass through them, and since blocks can't be placed under the Void, but I had no mods installed so I don't see what they could be!
Someone, tell me what these are and how they got there? :x
