I was thinking it might be a great idea to have a golem that accepts a string as it's filter.

I was thinking it might be a great idea to have a golem that accepts a string as it's filter. It can be limited to a single word (or part of a word), or multiple words (or multiple parts of words). In place of using a specific item as a filter it'd use a search term as a filter instead. For instance, to get a single golem to collect all 16 color wool one could give it the filter "wool". That way a single golem could be set to do the work of 3 or 4 while maintaining simplicity.

Hey all, I don't know if this is a bug or a feature or if I'm doing something wrong, but my Advanced Clay Golem —which is placed on top of an Iron Chest— has difficulty retrieving items. The set up is simple, it's assigned to get any amount of several materials (Warded Jar, Phial, Glass, Brick, and Nitor) from chests with any color marker, however it doesn't retrieve Brick or Nitor. It seems to only pick up the item closest to the top left slot.

I've tried putting the materials in chests that are near and far; chests I've seen it pull glass and phials from, but it won't retrieve bricks. After removing all of the glass in the assigned chest's inventory it retrieved Nitor, but still wouldn't retrieve bricks.

If anyone can tell me what's wrong, please do. Could the Iron Chest be causing the problem?

EDIT: Removing the marker from it's chest seems to solve the problem, but is this a bug?

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with Advanced Clay Golems, and if so, how did you resolve the issue?

IIRC, Direwolf always used normal chests for that, maybe Golems get confused by the larger inventory of Iron Chests.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem.

I think it'd be a good idea if the Brain in a Jar retained their exp. if broken (e.g.: SHIFT + right clicked) by a wand. It'd make it portable and loss-less.

My googles are bugged. Build or cheat new ones dont help. Serverreboot dont helps.

I dont see the Hud and nodes or i see noodes and the Hud but everywhere i only have 62/62 None on Hud

The last thing i build was 4 arcane alembic on a crucible.

I use Feed the Beast Launcher with Direwolf20 Pack and Twilight Forest and Flans Planes Mod on a server.

Any ideas for a fix ?

Edit : Together i build a lot of new dimensions with Mystcraft. Perhaps thats the problem.

I don't think there are currently any bugs involving the goggles, it's far more likely that your nodes were all deleted, unfortunately. You'll have to go to newer chunks to find Aura.

    Nice model.

Soon™ was first coined by SonyOnline during the Everquest 1 era I believe, but it pretty much means the same thing. :P

But in this case it means a bit sooner than that.

    Nice model, indeed.

As far as the upcoming version, will we be seeing a certain passive little lab buddy venture out into the world in a more offensive form?

Reason i want to join: I am looking for a good server for a while now, most of the times i either don't get accepted because people think i'm to young. I'm not saying i'm great but i can do good. I enjoy helping others and helping the community. I started minecraft in 2010 so i know what i am doing.
Thank you for looking at my application add me on skype for any more in-depth questions. Thank you! :)
PS: If i am accepted how will i know the IP?

Allow me to get this straight, you played minecraft when you were 10-11 (3 years ago while it was still in alpha) and you're telling me you're mature enough to play on my server? HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Seriously? Teasing a 13 year old about their age doesn't exactly scream maturity on your part either. Oh, the irony.

How long have you played the game: Less than a year in total, but I played a lot in 2010, and recently got back into playing (about a week ago).

Why should we let you on the server: I'm an intelligent, easy-going individual, with a decent sense of humor and a "respectful-when-respected" kind of disposition, beyond that I can also provide the server with some fairly aesthetic building skills and participate in community projects and events.

The reason I'd like to be accepted to a server instead of playing alone is because I enjoy interacting with others, and appreciate the company. An infinite world can be a very lonely place without someone to share it with!

FTB Experience (1-10): If this were a week ago I'd say 1, but as of now probably closer to a 3 or 4. I've mainly focused on Thaumcraft 3, but I've been ["forced" into] learning about other mods in the pack as well.

    Skype: GhoodLyfe.

EDIT: I just finished reading through to see that the server is no longer accepting new members, that's unfortunate, but best of luck.

About me: I'm a computer student, looking to go into programming and/or possibly game design, and I consider myself an intelligent individual who is easy to get along with. I enjoy building aesthetically and functionally and I enjoy using Thaumcraft.
What can you bring to the server?: I can bring my brand of humor (I call it sarcasmor), and good conversation as well as aesthetic builds and participation in group events and projects. You "should" choose me because of what I can bring to the server.
Best Minecraft skill(s)?: Building, [Thaumcraft,] and learning new and/or experimenting with new things.
Will you be recording?: No, unfortunately.
Do you have Skype?: Yes, I do have Skype (GhoodLyfe) and I am on it frequently when playing on a server.

    Please give this a READ
The following spoiler containts an old suggestion I made while TC3 was a work in progress. It was seemingly overlooked at that time due to the popularity of the thread. If you like the idea, and want it to be seen [and potentially implemented] please quote it in your reply.

    Choh, on 06 November 2012 - 06:17 AM, said:

Imagine a wand that shrinks or enlarges certain blocks or other entities, allowing the player to interact with some aspects of the world in a new way!

TXMount mentioned a wand that would essentially shrink down a selection of the world to allow you to port it elsewhere. Which got me to thinking of the following:

Imagine a "side tier" wand that shrinks or enlarges certain blocks or other entities, allowing the player to interact with some aspects of the world in a new way. The way I have imagined this wand is to only interacts with a limited number of blocks (making it's implementation more feasible), just as the current wands do, except it's functionality relates to using the aura specifically for augmentation in relation to size manipulation.

The ways such a feature can be implemented are endless, I'm sure, but I'd just like to throw a few ideas out there to see what the community thinks, and to get the ball rolling. If you like an idea, or want to add on to it, please do! In fact, I'd appreciate it if you did.

    Potential Uses (Bold = TL;DR):
"Shrink" TC3 multi-block objects to a portable block drop form. Maybe you can "shrink" TC3 multi-block objects (such as research tables, infusers, and infernal furnaces) to a portable block drop form, that can be stored in an inventory.
    - Perhaps the shrunken multi-block object can only be placed back in the world (in a usable form) by using the wand to select the area you want the object restored to normal size at, or by first placing the block then using the wand to enlarge it.
    - Perhaps the use of an object changes all together depending on it's size.
Shrink or enlarge certain monsters. Change the size of a mob to help around the lab, for decoration, or whatever.
    - A spider when shrunken down, could become a harmless domestic pest, tethered to the facility. It would essentially be a house pet, serving no purpose other than aesthetics.
    - An enlarged golem might be capable of carrying more blocks, or instead mounting the chest it is normally tethered to on it's person allowing it to interact with gathering in a new fashion.
Item(s) may only be obtained by being either shrunk or enlarged. Perhaps a certain TC3 item can only be obtained after having it's size altered.
    - A fragment of a stone or a monster drop might become a crystal necessary for a recipe, only after being enlarged.
    - A tool (block or weapon for instance) may be too large for use by the player until it is shrunken down.

Anyways, thanks for the read, and if you have any input please let it be known! Lastly what do you guys think a wand like this would/should be called?

Another [small] request is to have the Golem's item name show at the top of their GUI when you open it, that way when you use the Anvil to name your golems, as I have, it'll show when you use their GUI! :)

Yeah, that's what I thought at first as well, but I wasn't getting anything. Weird, can recipes fail?

EDIT: Actually I haven't unlocked tallow, so you're probably right.

Something interesting has happened to me three times in a row, now. After throwing 8 eggs (4 Corpus, 4 Permutatio) into the crucible, the crucible reads 32 of each, and all seems right up until the point when I right click it with my wand. The 32 Permutatio drains into the Arcane Alembics, but the 32 Corpus "disappears", I do have the recipe for a Wand of Exchange in my Infusion Table, could that have something to do with this anomaly?

What is happening to the 32 Corpus? Is it going into the aura, attempting a failing recipe, or what? I have no idea right now. Let me know what you think, or see if the same thing happens for yourselves.
