I don't see the Thaumcraft 3-specific enchantments in the enchantment table, specifically "Haste" (when putting "Thaumium Boots 25276" in the top slot) and "Repair" (when putting "Thaumium Helm 25273" in the top slot). Am I doing something wrong? Vanilla enchantments work fine.

Using MC 1.4.6, Sky Den with the Cosmic patch (1.1).

Excellent mod, by the way! And great idea planning ahead for a pain-free patching procedure!

I don't think those enchantments were added yet in the version of Thaumcraft this map uses. If so then it might just be a problem with the specific version of Enchanting Plus, but either way at least you probably won't need it for this map.

    Sky Den

The Arcadia Show's Sky Den Teaser

Somewhere in the vastness of another universe, there is a realm of endless sky. And every so often, by powers not fully understood, individuals are torn from their world and thrown here, into the infinite sky.
You have just found yourself transported to the sky realm. Abandon hope of getting home, for if you want to survive, you will have to make your home here. Farm resources, avoid lethal drops, expand your world by hand, try to make your way in this strange place, and most importantly, find the other stranded souls who call the mysterious Sky Den their home. If you want to thrive in this hostile world, you will certainly need their help!

CaptainSparklez recently began LPing this map. Welcome to all who've been brought by his videos!

    Overview
Sky Den is a new beast of Sky Survival maps. It features NPCs, quests, and plenty of challenges to help bolster the traditional Sky Survival experience. It's a low-pressure but high-risk map that encourages free building, and has been carefully balanced to provide an expansive and emergent experience to any player. Unlike many Sky Survival maps, Sky Den has been designed to allow every material and item in the game to be renewable. You can build an infinite world and craft whatever you like, without having to worry about running out of diamonds, or not having enough iron.
The map features a progression of resources that is structured using NPCs, Quests, and Challenges. Utilize the tools at your disposal and work with the world's strange and colorful inhabitants until at last the secrets of the Sky Den are at your complete control!

Sky Den is a mod-assisted map! It comes packed with the necessary mods to allow you to progress. It cannot be played vanilla!
All mod authors have their mods linked and credited in the topic, pack, and tags. This is not a mod pack - it is a specific map reliant on specific mods and not intended to be used for other purposes.

    Features
    • A traditional Sky Survival experience: Start from humble beginnings on a tiny island in the sky, and from there build up and out, until an entire world completely of your own design has grown and flourished around you. No caves, no tunnels and mines, just open sky and your own creativity in a fight for survival and success.
    • A cast of interactive characters: Over half a dozen NPCs have made their home in this realm. Find their home, the Sky Den, and find them! They'll offer challenges, trades, and items to help you progress. Each character is custom-designed with their own skin, dialog trees, inventories, and more.
    • A Quest system that encourages and deepens the Sky Survival experience, rather than distracting from it. Challenges are built in to the map, rather than just being a list in this topic. Instructions are included with books and quests, in-game, and a carefully-structured system of rewards will help you progress through tiers.
    • Balanced and renewable resources are available. Unlike many Sky Survival maps, Sky Den has been designed to ensure that every single block in the game can be farmed. There's nothing you'll be without, or face the risk of running out forever (barring just tossing all your stuff off the edge, of course).
    • A precisely-constructed sky realm: Several islands are scattered near the start. Make your way to them and discover what they have to offer, and find the eponymous Sky Den itself!

    Getting Started and Map Rules
Rules are rules! Cheating and breaking the map is possible, but you're only runining it for yourself. Here are the basic guidelines:
The rules of Sky Den are pretty simple:
*Most instructions will be included in the map itself. Books, signs, and characters will all tell you pretty much everything you need to know, so listen to what the map tells you and you should be okay.
*Pre-made structures can't be torn down for parts. Don't take lanterns and expensive decorations out of the Sky Den itself, for instance, or cannibalize the walls for building material. Those aren't for you! If a structure CAN be torn down, a sign will tell you so.
*Do not use the MINIUM STONE, the ENCHANTING TABLE, the THAUMCRAFT CRUCIBLE, or the MYSTCRAFT DESCRIPTIVE BOOK until you have been given permission to do so. The nature of these items makes restricting their access very difficult by recipe, so instead, you have to be on the honor system. The mod will make it pretty clear when you can use these things, usually by just giving them to you.
*Don't use mods (or parts of mods) that change the balance too strongly. If you have a mod that lets you craft diamonds out of dirt, an IndustrialCraft conversion machine that creates new materials, etc., you probably shouldn't use them.

*THE RULE OF THUMB IS: Mods other than the ones in the above list should not be used to get NEW resources. For example: If you already have a way to get iron, you can probably use a mod that gets you more iron. But don't use a mod that makes free clay if you haven't already gotten renewable clay in some other way! A mod that does that will probably still upset the balance, but at least it won't totally break it.

There is a way to "win" Sky Den. If you just keep playing I'm sure you'll find it!

    Good luck!

    Download
    • Version 1.1 for Minecraft 1.4.6 and 1.4.7 - Includes Cosmic Patch
    • Cosmic Patch 1.1 for players using Sky Den 1.01.
    • The Cosmic Patch is recommended, but not necessary, for people on Sky Den 1.01. It will fix a bug with one of the NPCs (Hennepin) and will rebalance trades to make certain resources easier or quicker to get.
You can install the Cosmic Patch even if you've already started playing this map. However, part of this patch will reset anything you have built in a certain area right around the Sky Den. The part of the patch that does this is optional. It affects a very small area (the Sky Den itself, and an area between the Sky Den and the "halfway" stone block that leads to the starter island).
Your quest progress will not be reset.

    • Version 1.01 for Minecraft 1.4.6 and 1.4.7
    Known Bugs and Fixes
Some people have encountered an error in the "Four Trials" quest. During this quest, you speak to the Slime, Hennepin, who transports you to the area for the Trials. Sometimes this fails to activate and when you ask him to transport you, he does not. This is due to the unfinished nature of the transport system in the mod CustomNPCs.
THIS BUG IS FIXED IN THE COSMIC PATCH
If you don't have the Cosmic Patch, this is still easily fixed:
Give yourself an NPC Wand. This can be done through NEI.
Equip the wand and right click Hennepin.
On the tabs at the top, choose "Advanced"
To the right of the box labeled "Transporter" you'll see a button that says "Edit". Click that.
Click "Default" in the center of your screen.
Click on the box that says "default name" and type something in here, like "Home". It doesn't matter what you name it.
Make sure the box below it says "available when discovered". If not, click on that box until it does.
    Click back.
Click the X in the upper right to close the NPC edit interface.
Destroy the NPC wand or toss it from the edge.
Right click Hennepin (without the wand equipped) and choose "I'm ready for the trials!"
The transport menu should open up as it was meant to.

If this absolutely does not work, you can simply teleport to the coordinates using console/OP commands. The coordinates are:
    X: 1782
    y: 5
    z: 1541

Another bug sometimes encountered is that when finishing the End Portal, sometimes it will not activate properly. If this happens, just cheat yourself in some End Portal blocks using NEI, and place them manually to fill in the portal. It shouldn't cause any problems.

    Changelog
    • Cosmic Patch: Fixed a bug that would occur when talking to Hennepin during the Four Trials quest. Rebalanced NPC trade amounts.
    • 1.01: Fixed a spawn bug that would occur if the player died before resting in the bed, causing them to die repeatedly.
    • 1.0: Initial release

    Installation Instructions
    1. You must have Minecraft with Forge already installed. Minecraft Version 1.4.6 or 1.4.7 SHOULD both be compatible without problems, but this map was designed for 1.4.6. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS STEP, THERE ARE PLENTY OF TUTORIALS ONLINE FOR INSTALLING FORGE. They will not be covered here.
    2. Extract this entire .rar file to your Minecraft directory, usually located in "C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft" for Windows 7 users. This should put the map in your saves directory, and the custom NPC skins where they'll need to be. It will also install the maps included in the pack.
    3. Just run Minecraft and choose to play the Sky Den map!

So is it a patch or part 2? :P CONFUSION

It's a patch. When I say "part 2" I am referring to paragraph that came right before it, which described the patch as being made up of two parts. "Part 1" of the patch and "part 2" of the patch.

    Quote from Ardillavoladora

That WAS the description, i downloaded a newer version of thaumcraft and it worked :)

No. That was the item overview at the top of the quest.
I mean the words. The words that describe the quest. With sentences.

Like the others, I'm getting a crash on trying to edit Dialog. Also:
    • Under the bank role, though all slots are set up the same, only slots 4 and 5 have the option to upgrade.

    • An old bug: The slots for Dialog lines are not consistent. They skip spaces sometimes, and don't keep in order. When filling in slot 1 and 2, slot 2 appears empty, and slot 3 is filled instead. The order does not always stay.

    • "Dialog Quest" has the same problem.
    • "Transporter" option is unreliable. Does not work sometimes, sometimes clears itself.
    • Kill quests and Dialog quests are unreliable, and often do not work.

Sugarcane speeds up real quick, but admittedly cactus is probably the slowest and most tedious part of the entire questline. I should have made cactus trade for like 4-8 sand instead of just one, and/or started the player with maybe 4 cactus and sugarcane instead of just 1. Live and learn I guess. No one will blame you if you cheat a few more in to get started or leave the game open and idle to grow more.

Can this mod be played multiplayer, or is it singleplayer only?

It can be played multiplayer, if you know how to set up a multiplayer server using the mods installed. However, because of the small starting area, it's likely that additional players will have problems spawning.
Your best bet to counteract this is use OP commands when a new player joins and /teleport them to you so they'll be on solid ground. When possible, make sure to all sleep in the beds provided, so that if you fall you'll spawn on land rather than in the air.

So far the map is pretty sweet. Just a question: Where am I able to get iron to make the inert stone? I got silver, but no iron.

A spoiler in case anyone doesn't want the answer revealed:
Thaumcraft's transmutation allows you to turn metal essence into iron, once you've researched iron transmutation. Silver nuggets can become iron nuggets, which can become iron ingots. Gold nuggets can too, but they're obviously not as easy to come by. Once you have the minium stone, things get a lot easier.

Hi, sorry if I missed it or something, But where can I get the texture pack you use, and is it at all required?

The texture pack is a custom version of the lovely Painterly Pack by kas, which you can find here.
But no, it isn't required to play. Any texture pack will do. Custom textures for the NPCs are provided with the download and are used independently, so it doesn't matter which pack you use, if any.
