I agree that this genre has a lot of promise, as an idea. In saying that, the way Notch executed it was quite a let down. This game is great, but in this instance and state it's also quite buggy and incomplete. All we can do is hope that it gets fixed up, and hopefully made to be somewhat more efficient. It's a bit pathetic to see any high-end computer running this game with lag of any kind, lest it be ping issues online. I suppose that's just a con of using java, but... Hey. Mods, so called "Minecraft clones" and updates could fix this. Some new games in this genre look to be quite promising.

Mayhaps more of a debate, as opposed to a "shut up, different opinion".

Valid, Creeperkiller. But it's not that I dislike Minecraft, more that I am unhappy with how the potential is being treated. It seems like a dropped project that could have been much greater.

I'm aware that it's buggy, but nobody should ever release a game with random stuff thrown in (npc's, pour exemple) that doesn't act as it should. If it's not finished, wait until it is, and then add it is all I'm saying. If they've been working on it for so long, mayhaps some ironing out would have been beneficial. They certainly have enough money to hire someone to do that. XD Also, I find your signature offensive.

Focusing less on my preference of that, the game is still in an unfit place for a price-raise and full release. We shouldn't be expected to download mods to fix an issue they should have done already.

    Minecraft debate?
    ... Minecraft debate.

I've been playing since around mid-Alpha, and I can honestly say that the game was much more enjoyable back then. I'm not trying to cause a storm of rage, or anything of the sort, but in my opinion the game has slowly fallen for the worst, become rather unbalanced, and been filled to the brim with countless bugs that could be fixed, should Notch pay some mind. As soon as the money started rolling in, he seemed to become lazy with it.

So, here's what I am trying to do. I want to start a small, civil thread. Don't rage... Don't cry and throw personal attacks. Just share your opinions like adults, and try to listen to the opinions of others, hey?

People tend to find it easier to debate or argue when there are points already made, so I'll start. I disagree entirely with Notch's method of releasing the final game, especially with the use of pre-releases. What ended up happening was that Notch released several of these, adding feature by feature in every one. But this was all during a fast approach towards Minecon, and they seemed to be in an awful rush. Bugs were being spawned frequently, and the final release was exactly the same as one of the final pre-release. Up to now, that's quite alright... But it's the final release. Parts of the game were left unfinished, imbalanced and buggy. No game should be released like that. Don't mention Dead Island. And before someone remarks on how I shouldn't be bothered by this as like I said, there is really no difference between late Beta and the final product, there was an important difference. Price. You can't charge more for a game that's still unfinished, Mojang... Come now... Anywho, discuss.
