Jun 18, 2014Chad posted a message on Snapshot Double-Feature: 1.7.10 Pre-Release, 14w25a Ready for Testing!I am really excited about the new sponge properties. That looks to be a pretty cool addition to the game, and could bring with it even greater automation, as was possible with the slime block.Posted in: News

There is now gravel in Nether O.o
I guess it's placeholder only, but does it mean that we will see new type of block in nether?
Gravel already does generate in the nether before 1.7

A baby zombie dropped a potato (rare drop) when I killed it. Not sure if feature or bug.
Also terrain generator just gave me the finger http://i.imgur.com/bDvDB2E.png
Maybe baby zombies drop stuff now. -

I think you just lucky. I see in 1.5.2 let's play village with spawner in it and temple merged with one from houses.
Maybe so. Like I posted a little earlier, I also found another exposed dungeon just a little bit further in the desert. -

My PC has 8 gigs, but that 512 MB is what Minecraft decided to give it by default. I can easily up that lots in the launcher.
BTW, I just found ANOTHER exposed dungeon not too far away in the same desert!

I like everything in this snapshot! ...except for the trees.
I mean seriously, you can't grow any of the new tree formations, including the awesome new Black Forest ones. Not that I'd want to: they're made out of already existing wood/leaf types! It's so weird cutting down trees in the Black Forest, and Spruce Wood is what I'm getting from a tree that's OBVIOUSLY not a Spruce Tree. CHANGE IT, MOJANG!
And add Fish Mobs!
Well, this is a snapshot which is intended to test features before they are officially added.. I actually love all the new trees. My favorite are the ones in the roofed forest biome. -

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
BTW, did dungeon generation change a bit or did I get really lucky?

As of Minecraft Pocket Edition .9.0, the game uses Google's levelDB database for storing the level information. MCedit, the popular tool for converting worlds between pocket edition and PC edtiion (and many other editing things), has not been updated to support LevelDB as far as I know, which takes that option off of the table. That is the way that I have always done it in the past, and I have not been around the community much lately so I have no idea if there is another way to do this now. But it looks like you may be out of luck if so.

Yes, there is a way to fix the screen being too sensitive. Open your Minecraft Pocket Edition App, and click on the settings icon (the one with a wrench and a screwdriver). Now tap the button on the far left of the screen that looks like a game controller. The top setting under controls will now be for sensitivity. Drag the slider down to reduce the sensitivity to your liking. This should reduce the sensitivity of the game, and make it easier to control using split touch. Hope this helped!

They did; however, unfortunately they mentioned that it was not a high priority for them. I just can't see why, although I know controller support is not just as simple as a few lines of code; however, It is the only version of Minecraft that doesn't have it, and all games should support controllers IMO.
The only thing holding me back from buying a gamepad for my tablet/phone is the fact that Mojang doesn't support it in MCPE.

I was a bit disappointed that they didn't let Tommasso do any gameplay during the stream. Oh well, we'll get it tomorrow. I also missed the first 2 minutes of the stream, and I didn't hear any mention of whenever the betas will start, did anyone hear that, or was it just not mentioned?

That actually is a bug. If you will read his next tweet, he says that it's supposed to be a forest.

Also, Notch does not work on Minecraft Pocket Edition (or any version of Minecraft). The current developers for MC:PE are: Jens Bergensten, Aron Nieminen, Johan Bernhardsson, and Tommaso Checchi.
Thank you

Minecraft PC did have only a few biomes before; however, ever since the 1.7.2 update, there are now 61 distinct biomes total in a Minecraft PC world, due to the many added ones, and the extra biome variants. My guess is that Minecraft PE will get most of the ones that are currently in PC, and that is why it would be 50+.
