A communist is someone who believes in and supports the principles of communism. Living in a commune doesn't mean you endorse living in a commune. Those people simply had no other option at the time. They were not even aware of the concept of a commune, to them it was just how things always were.
Well, yes and no. :wink.gif:
I'm sure there is some argument there... but it's kind of pointless.

I would disagree, Stalin was a ruthless but effectual leader. The actual problem was that once he was gone there was no big brother left to fear, and the resulting power struggles and mismanagement led to the decay of the Soviet Union until it collapsed. Stalin may have been a terrible person and a mass murderer, but he was still the best leader the Soviet Union had, even if that isn't saying much.
I think you should check your history facts... Stalin was absolutely not an "effective" leader. That is just ridiculous...
To say he was "the best leader the Soviet Union had"... is just completely ludicrous and absurd, and not even comprehensible to me.
I'm sure you're probably just confused about your history... Do you understand that Vladimir Lenin ruled before Stalin did?
Lenin was by far the effective and best leader the Soviet Union had.... Stalin destroyed the nation, and ruled with fear and hatred...
Seriously, how do you think a nation can recover from a ruler who MURDERS millions of it's own people!? And you call that EFFECTIVE!?
I simply have to *facepalm* you here. -

Yeah but those people weren't actual communists, they were just living communes. Jesus was the first to advocate the principles of equality between all men and a classless society to the point that he martyred himself for it.
How are people who actually are communists, not communists? That doesn't make sense...
I get what you mean, but you have to accept the fact that people who live in communes are communists. Jesus wasn't the first. He was just the first 'radical communist'.
Quote from Cetus Amicus
That's how the Soviet Union should have regarded Jesus. They should have told everyone that Jesus was the original communist and it's first martyr. Communism might have gotten a lot farther in the world if they had done that.
The problem with the Soviet Union was obviously not that they didn't accept Jesus...
Their problem was Stalin, who single-handedly failed the entire Soviet Union and corrupted it to the point of complete disaster.
If Lenin had not had so many assaults on his life and survived longer, the Soviet Union may have possibly survived to this day and been a much greater nation.
Stalin was a corrupt man who's sole intention was to gain power for himself and turn himself into a supreme dictator, who's very wish was fulfilled under threat of death. He was a rude, violent, and horrible person. And the obvious reason why the Soviet Union fell. - To post a comment, please login.

I did not have the will to leave even the smallest of scratches on myself.
It is not cowardice to take one's own life.
It is not courageous either.
It is pure despair and hopelessness. It is the ultimate retreat.

Those against mathematics are the enemies of reason and freedom.
I dislike mathematics. My father dislikes mathematics.
Yet he is an excellent mathematician and I had the potential to follow in his footsteps had things been different.
Mathematics is no different than literacy in it's importance.
Mathematics is civilization.

But men can't make babies and that makes me sad.

I have long fancied the idea of taking mind-warping torture to it's logical conclusion: Friendship and Love!
There's just something so appealing to me about the ability to make the worst and foulest of your enemies into the best of your friends in a way that makes them suffer so horribly as to change even the most instinctual of thoughts.
...
...
Unfortunately, it seems I do this more to myself than anyone else, now that I think about it...
