Instead of decreasing the nutrition value of the food each time you ate it, you can have a fixed range on every type of food. Every time you eat something, it slightly gets more "nutritional" and replenishes more. In conjunction to that, you have foods give a set bonus; the longer you eat it, the bonus would intensify. However, the more you eat the same food, the slower you eat it (Player begins to dislike the food).
The more food brought into the game the crazier and helpful the mod can get. Instead of food having a positive bonus it could have a negative one. For example a food could offer a high nutritional value but give you something like slowness. Going to sleep would reset the bonus and take away some slowness
