I would like to point out that I am no longer actively supporting this thread and thus won't update it whatever happens (okay unless I get a sudden urge to update this which I doubt will ever happen).
This is just a basic idea for a "new" Villager job. While I doubt this would ever happen as doing so would be wishful thinking, if the devs ever stumble upon this thread and think this is a neat idea, they could just take the concept and adapt it with all the current flowers and garden decorations and whatnot that there is in the game right now and make some modifications here and there. But all this rambling I'm doing is not very important so yeah. You get the point.
Basically, I'm leaving this suggestion to public view, but do not expect any updates.
There is already a command for that!!! You do
/gamemode doDayNightcycle false
or something like that. Everything will be the same except that it will stay what time it is when you do it. You can even do a time while in it to change what time it stays at.
No support. You can already do it.
Did you guys even read the whole suggestion? Did you even take the time to realize that this suggestion is older than 1.6? I bet you didn't.
I suppose your talking about improving the "doDaylightCycle" gamerule? Because we can just do that and it does everything you said. I really don't see the point of this?
This suggestion is older than the doDaylightCycle, so suggesting this was necessary to me at the time.
Though if my idea was implemented instead of the doDaylightCycle gamerule, I'm pretty sure it would have been better. My opinion, of course.
I love this idea! I especially like the model with the glowing eyes. It looks amazing and it can give buildings and creations some atmosphere to their look. I support!
P.S. I clicked the little green button AND said "I support", so including my post, you have 116 supporters.
I have 116 +1's and a total of 156 supporters (which is even better)
Thanks for the support.
Edit:
Turns out there's one more supporter! We're at 157 now.
HOLY MOTHER OF EVERYTHING. THIS. I WANT. ANDAND... and it's compatible with OptiFine!!
Can't wait for this to be finished! And I can't wait for the new items such as the Hookshot, the instruments, the Heart Pieces and Containers, the Power Glove, the Bombs, ect.Oh and... a little question, here:
Will we be able to set the default amount of hearts? 3 hearts, for example?
Well, I (somehow) managed to make it show up by doing it all over again. It worked well... Not sure if it'll happen for you guys... Maybe it has something to do with the amount of letters and symbols? Because it only worked when I named my .jar and .json files 'Usual' instead of 'SemiVanillaPack'.
Super idea! I love it! I think too that villagers sometimes don't sell what they're supposed to sell, so before this villager get added, the other villagers should be improved first, as i don't think this organized villager that only sells plant related items as it's role says could fit into the other villagers like butchers that sell leather armor, or priests that sell redstone, or librarians that sell stuff other than books.
Yeah, I agree that Villagers, especially Priests, sell random stuff somewhat related to their jobs and should be improved. The Blacksmith is the only (almost) fully organized Villager currently in the game
Much better than many of the other ideas. It also makes lily pads (one of my all time favorites) renewable. I also like the new flowers, those would be something to brag about.
Hmm... I never thought that Lily Pads were non-renewable. Well, that a good thing that the Gardener sells them, I guess.
How about a cute little addition here, with Iron Golems.
Iron Golems sometimes have a rose in their hands, and from there, they give them to villagers... why not have this Botanist or Gardener also have a chance to gift a flower to an iron golem?

Good day.

Fun fact: This thread is older than 1.6.
Gonna edit OP and say it to avoid that kind of stuff again.

Yeah, I was thinking so, because I saw that block in a video somewhere in this thread...
Well, that's awesome! Already coded!
0
Do you have any idea when you'll code it?
0
I guess it is related to the Camera Block (or whatever it was called) in AdventureCraft? If not, I'd like a description.

I'm worried about he compability with OptiFine, though. I wonder if it'll still be compatible.

This seems very unlikely to be the case, though.

Mmmmaybe. But wouldn't that be better if there was some kind of Carpenter Villager to sell those, along with some clay and other building materials?
Yeah, I agree that Villagers, especially Priests, sell random stuff somewhat related to their jobs and should be improved. The Blacksmith is the only (almost) fully organized Villager currently in the game

Aww that's cute!
Yeah, why not!
I'd prefer leaving the Cyan Flower to the Pocket Edition, personally. It's just a recolor of a rose.
