My friends and I are having a strange issue where only one player in our server can have animals following him. The rest of us can only have sheep follow us. The player without issue is not the admin or opped so that's not an issue.
We've tried restarting the server and have tried running to other zones for different animals. I've also searched google a bit and found that hitting the animals can 'reset' them, however this does not work.
PS.I also cannot feed the animals the wheat, only sheep seem to have full interactivity.
I've been looking around a bit and have seen some great automated messaging system plugins for bukkit servers, but I'm wondering whether there is one for an SMP server.
I don't user mods or anything, I just want a welcome message and maybe a broadcast message every hour or so.
It would be much more convenient to change your skin on the fly either in-game, or from the main menu at least. Rather than uploading an image to the official website.
Ok, so I see a lot about Beta 1.9 and the Full Release. But I'm confused. If the full release is going to be released today and we don't have Beta 1.9 yet, is Beta 1.9 the full release and in all actuality we're just going to stay in the beta state after today? Or is 1.9 just the full release and the beta status has been taken away?
I keep getting different answers from different people and some clarification would be much appreciated.

In order to reach it one must pass the "Hall of Judgement" which I will post screens of later. I currently have the courtyard, and entrance way to the mansion complete. The interior's grand hall is currently under construction, however, it's floor mural is complete (you may recognize the mural).

The mansion will be expanded exponentially. It will include several rooms as well as various redstone contraptions. In addition, it will have an escape route to the surface and a control room that control the various contraptions in the hall of judgement.
Honestly, even if Notch doesn't put it in we will always have the mod and it will be easier than ever to use since there is mod support coming in the official update. This is a great feature idea though, it's really annoying putting torches down everywhere.
I think this lawsuit is just ridiculous. I mean it seems that Bethesda believes they not only own "The Elder Scrolls" collectively as a title but also "The" "Elder" and "Scrolls" separately. This means that any game with these words could essentially be in copyright violation towards Bethesda. Do you know how many games use the word "The" alone. Nothing good comes from these legal battles just more and more legal loopholes that just lead to companies going bankrupt and other getting richer.
My laptop and ever other laptop that I have ever used has had a severe overheating problem, especially while gaming. Now I know that laptops arent the coolest or the best gaming electronics in the world, but when its supposedly built for gaming (like mine is) I expect it to be able to cool itself. However, after only a few minutes of playing Minecraft I can feel not only the CPU but also the GPU getting extremely hot. It never shuts down due to overheating so Im wondering whether its meant to withstand this heat, or if there is a method of cooling it without a cooling pad. It seems stupid that a piece of hardware (the laptop) requires another piece of hardware (cooling pad) to function as it should.
