posted a message on We now have Copper stairs, slabs & soon (grates) - so why not iron & gold ?

Long story short - I was going to suggest that since copper has variants of stairs, slabs, trapdoors etc then why not the other metals (Iron & Gold).. however it seems someone already suggested this when the caves & cliffs update came out.

So rather than repeat myself - if you think this is a good idea, why not pop over to the original suggestion & up-vote it

Who know maybe Mojang will take notice & add them

posted a message on Suggestion: A 'Useful' addition for Copper

Sorry - thought the explanation of having a single block that replaces the existing style item sorter might've explained it all

It works the same way as the older item sorter method

An item to be sorted comes along the top, IF it matches the item in the copper hopper then the item in the copper hopper goes down into next row while the new item replaces it in the slot - exactly the same way as how the exiting item sorters work

All I'm suggesting is instead of the 6 x random blocks, 1x comparator, 1 x repeater, 3 x redstone dust & 1 x Redstone torch usually required to make just 1 item sorter circuit, you just craft a Copper Hopper

We've all seen the latest Minecon & we've seen the 'What's coming' video showing that new structure with new 'Tuff' & 'Copper' decorative blocks.

While I do like the idea of getting more uses for Copper - decorative blocks isn't one of them

What I like to suggest is a new redstone component called - the 'Copper Hopper'

Crafting is similar to making a normal hopper, except you use copper ingots and maybe a trapdoor instead of a chest (or maybe use the 'new' copper grate block) but what makes this hopper different is that it is used as a filter hopper.

What I mean is when you open up the hopper GUI there is just 1 Slot - in this slot you place an item that you WANT to filter through

It get's 'locked' by redstone like a normal hopper & interacts with comparitor in the same way but while unpowered any item above it that matches the item in it's GUI slot will pass through below

What this means is that instead of the usual Item filters we've all seen used - we can remove a majority of the redstone & replace it all with just 1 'hopper'

You all ask why they are doing this? It is because they are trying to kill Java. They have been doing this since Microsoft bought out Mojang. I will NOT switch to Bedrock. I will shut down my servers and delete the game first.

    These changes are absolutely bull

I agree it's 'bull' but I don't think they're trying to kill off Java.

If so why are they trying to make both version identical & 'unifying' them ??

Also how do you know they won't add the 'experimental' stuff to Bedrock eventually ??

If they add it to Java & kill it off because players don't like what they added and THEN add it to Bedrock (because that's what they want YOU to have) then they'll kill off Bedrock players as well

HATE IT ..HATE IT.. HATE IT

Why on earth would you restrict books to certain Biome Villagers ??

What will happen to SMP's with limited world borders ??

I've seen it time & again that a server updates to include 'new stuff' & early bird players go out & clear out/raid all the available new stuff & leaves nothing for players that come on later..

I can see it happening (IF mojang includes this) that the first day players are going out & finding villagers in different biomes, transporting them to their claims & killing off any they left behind - leaving nothing for the late comers

I've seen it happen when 1.20 came out & we had ruins/archaeology added
    - within the first day there were NO ruins left... all Shards were collected & of course - no way to duplicate them - so player were selling them to other players that want them at ridiculous (in-game) money. At least with TRIMS you can duplicate them (although quite expensive to do so)

This is just another way Mojang/Microsoft is ruining Minecraft - they come up with ideas that they think people want on their single player games, but never think of the outcome on SMP's

IF I was thinking of something like this I would keep it basically the same except I would change it so that certain Biome Villagers have a HIGHER % chance of giving certain books based on the Biome they are from

I actually like this idea - Leather armour actually getting a use.
I would also like to suggest a couple of additions
    - Leather armour ACTUALLY is better against Wardens Sound blast attack.. - ATM 2 hits regardless of armour & you're dead. I would like Leather armour 'softens' the blast attack maybe reduce the original damage by 5% or so

    - Add 'new' enchantments that could be added to just leather armour: 'Absorbtion' (working title) : maybe have 3 levels for this Lvl 1 decreases sound blast attack by 15% , lvl2 by 30% & lvl 3 by 50%

    @GlobalIlluminations:

Try this one - this is the 'permanent' Discord link https://discord.gg/rxJfVvW

I think Dromar uses a standard post & alters just the relevant detail & forgot to update to the new linkl

    @HowardZHY
None done by Dromar (the current developer) however on the Discord #Link channel you'll find links to a couple of (possible) 1.12.2 that we've managed to salvage/save from the Original developer before he stopped supporting it

Both have been tested for forge by us helpers (Me & Gold) although some users have reported problems

"every 5 mins"?.. I assume it's not always 5m but around that time.

Is there some other program that runs in the background every few minutes - maybe security suite/antivirus or a backup program is doing regular checks?

A Google search shows that if running a laptop on battery power can cause laptops to 'throttle down' on a regular basic & can cause fps drops

Some results suggest updating graphic drivers, however I have also seen posts where updating these could cause problems & 'rolling back' to older drivers have helped

Other posts have asked if it's modded minecraft, using cracked clients, only on a specific world or every world - even the type of biome you're in can cause fps drops, or if the area you are in has multiple entities

Some have suggested lowering graphic settings / chunk render distance, assign more memory to graphic card using java arguments (not sure how to do that) - even clearing out laptop exhaust ports as overheating can cause problems

posted a message on HELP, MY FPS

Not sure if this may explain why.

AFAIK Integrated Graphic cards use the same memory as the PC/Laptop - you have probably got Windows, Java, Minecraft & your graphic card all fighting to use the same amount of memory that your laptop has (lets say for example you have 8Gb).

I have read that Windows 10 could take between 1Gb to 3.5Gb on a 8Gb system when idling & I've also looked at taskmanager when running the game & have seen with Java & Minecraft running - the 'used' memory goes as high as 8.1Gb
    - this doesn't leave much for an integrated graphics card to use IF the memory is shared & so it struggles & lags out.

HOWEVER if your Graphic card, although intgerated into the laptop - has it's OWN dedicated memory then everything I have suggested goes out the window.
Do you know the make/model of your laptop ? Maybe looking at its specifications might give a clue to whether the graphic card has it's own memory or if it is shared with the main memory.

Not sure how to help regardless... have you tried reducing the chunk level to ~5-6 chunks & seeing if that makes any difference - the less the graphic card has to render the less memory it requires to use

EDIT: Just googled about 'AMD Vega Integrated Graphics'
    - found that for 'AMD Radeon Vega 8' series that the 'Video Memory Size is shared with main memory & depends on the sytem' & the 'Memory Type is DDR4 shared system memory' - so it looks to me that if your Vega is a series 8 type then it is probably IS using the same memory as windows & java & it is struggling

posted a message on Introducing - The 'Copper Hopper'

    Here's the senerio.

You've created a slime farm/creeper farm (or any type of farm) Waaay down low in the world under your base , but you don't want to travel (ie. fall/drop) down there to check for drops - so you install an item elevator.

The 'easiest' is a bubble elevator.. fire items into the column down the bottom & they shoot up fast to the top

The problem is 'up top'. How do you get the items into storage ??

Usually you need a water flow to feed items into a hopper then attach a chest to the hopper,

or if you don't want ugly water streams showing above ground & having the chest buried in the floor, you could stick a small dispensor item elevator just below the surface to fire the items into the chest from underneath -this does meant you'll need a clock or comparitor circuit to 'push' any item in dispensor up into the chest

For a more compact collection system - I like to suggest the 'Copper Hopper'.
It is basically an upside down Hopper that can fit underneath blocks that can store stuff - such as chests, barrels, shulker boxes - even hoppers, so that when items appear underneath it, it will suck in & funnel the items into the block above in a similar way how hoppers suck in items from above it

It uses a similar recipe to the normal Hopper recipe but instead we use Copper instead of the Iron for a normal hopper
