So it's ALWAYS been like that ??
Funny - I'm sure I played a version of minecraft where the bucket 'stayed' once used in a furnace
Perhaps THAT was a 'bug' (in one of the snapshots perhaps) which was then 'fixed' later ?
So it's ALWAYS been like that ??

What OS are you both using (Windows Linux Mac etc) ??
What version of magic (EXE/ Jar etc) are you both using ??
@Coko37 - what 'problem' are you getting ? (Magic not starting up / Crashing when logging in / not recognising the snapshot etc etc)
I know that MAC users seem to have more problems with magic than Window users, perhaps you're one of them ??

Before - the 'seed' was displayed just like in single player (pressing [F3] - but the change doesn't show it anymore - something about it not being 'transmitted' by the server anymore
I could suggest contacting the owner of the server & asking what the seed is he using
Usually this happens when you type in 'seed' value of a non-existent world....this is because no player spawn position has been created
If you create the world first in MC (& spawn), THEN use the 'from file' option you should see your player position
Not sure HOW good you are at programming games - but there was this one Homebrew game on the DS that I liked called ''
Not really a 'shoot-em-up' more like 'avoid getting hit but blow up everything to create the biggest chain reaction' (you had infinite 'lives', until the timer ran out that is - you played against the clock BTW).
It had powerups for faster movement [pink] / time extension [orange] & score bonuses [green], had a end of level boss & a highscore table as well.
Perhaps you could do something similar ??
Simple DS Controls: Touch screen to move your [spiky] bomb & press 'shoulder button' to explode...
I would guess you could have a 'double tap' to explode in your version

Do you mean does magic launcher work with Just the latest snapshot OR does Magic work with Latest snapshot AND MOD's
AFAIK Magic work with the snapshots (I know it worked with 12w16a) however it WON'T work if you try to install any MOD's that have not been updated for the snapshot you are trying to run
I think some MOD's will work with the snapshot, but it's a lot of trial and error, & I think you may find most MOD makers won't update their MOD's until the next 'full' release comes out

I guess you mean like this

After all - you can create a 'clean' new world yourself using the seed and build it up to how YOU want it
I could suggest you could make a 'creative' map - design it to what ever you want (portal/buildings etc) - then 'convert' it to 'survival' to play in...

Thanks for the info (especially the Diamonds) added to first post
@ NinjaXX: nice idea, however I don't play MC that often (only when time permitting & I'm not too knackered from Shift work ) so doing 'Download links to my world' isn't really feasible - especially every week. (also some of my 'building work' isn't brilliant - I still not 100% sure I'd like having 'floating pathways' to my portals in the nether - may move them to 'ground level' eventually)
Also while playing in survival, even in 'easy' mode - it DOES take a while to get certain 'stuff' to use to build... I'm in fact 'cheating' by using MODS like 'Destructor' & 'Finder compass' to (try & get) Diamonds etc
[IMHO though, I don't consider 'Destructor' & 'FinderCompass' as 'Real' cheating as with those I STILL have to use resources to get the required stuff, unlike 'TMI' ]

I have actually found out that the 'News' checkbox (under [options] on the front page) gets enabled EVERY time you go into [setup] & then click the [OK] button to leave.
IF however you enter [Setup] and then click on [Cancel] the 'News checkbox' DOESN'T get enabled
EDIT: found my original post - it was 'way back' on the 5th March (Actualyy I HAD mentioned this before then - but haven't found THAT post), & later that same day was when I discovered WHEN it was being reset to 'True'

Also - if you like suggestions - here's another 'useless item' ..... Soul Sand !!!
How about using 1 x Soul Sand / 4 x Netherrock / 4 x lava (buckets) together to craft Nether Brick ?? Since you use 4 Netherrock & 1 Soulsand, then perhaps you get 4 Netherbricks
I've suggested Lava to 'fuse' the Soulsand/Netherock together (you get the bucket back)
Suggested Crafting
= 4 x NetherBrick
Where = Lava bucket, = Netherrock, = Soulsand
It'll be nice to be able to make the Netherbrick 'locally' to your Nether portal to make a ghast-proof base while you try & find a Netherfortress, & since lava & Netherrock is plentiful - that why you need so much of it

Here's my contribution... note that I don't use win 7 or a 64-bit OS so can't tell if this'll work... however you say you're using Java 6.31
From a google search it seems that for 64-bit OS the 'latest' is v 6.0 [source] however Cnet claims its 'v7 Update 4'
I've also seen posts where it's been suggested that you make sure you're using a 64bit java on a 64bit OS if running Minecraft.... do you know if you have 64-bit JAVA installed ??
Also I THINK I have seen here in AMIDST posts that some1 else had a problem with a blank screen (or perhaps a blue one) but not sure if a fix was found for it
EDIT: hang on... found one about 'blue screen' (& another) seems like that one was because they were using the ExtraBimoes MOD.
I know it refers to 'blue screen' but has your minecraft.jar been MODified in any way ??
EDIT #2: found another post for you - this time it's a 'white screen'. It seems to point to what I already guessed at - you need to use AMIDST with an untouched or 'vanilla' minecraft
If this IS the reason people get blue/white/grey screens - perhaps Skidoodle could add to the FAQ something about AMIDST needs a clean/Vanilla minecraft to work properly ??

AMIDST uses the version of minecraft.jar in '/.minecraft/bin/' folder to determine the map/village placements etc...
so IF you have 1.2.5 minecraft.jar & the map you're looking at was made in 1.2.1, it will use the algorithms in v1.2.5 to 'make the map' - that's why your 1.2.1 map looks different
To get AMIDST to show the 'proper' map for your 1.2.1 world - you need to replace minecraft.jar with the 1.2.1 version
So here's a thought for the developer......
How about an option to allow AMIDST to use different minecraft.jar files for use in making maps instead of using the one in /.minecraft/ folder....say have a folder in same directory as AMIDST called '/otherMC.jar/'
People can then place their 'older' minecraft.jar (renaming them like 'MC_12w7a.jar' / 'MC_1.2.5.jar' etc) into here
Then when you 'load from file', you also get 'radio buttons' for each 'MC_??.jar' AMIDST has found
> You can select what version the map was made in ....& AMIDST then uses THAT jar file to create the world map
IF no files are found in that folder - THEN AMIDST will use the one found in '/.minecraft/bin/' folder

To post a bug, please provide the following information:
- Operating System
- Java Version
- Minecraft Version
- Minecraft version you were using when you made your map. (If needed)
- AMIDST Version
- Error log
- Seed (If needed)
- A detailed description of what happened
If you're on a Windows computer and need to find your error logs, use this:http://www.mediafire...ypdowretbr5817p
What doesn't happen ??
- does it crash
- do you not get any map
- do you get just a blue screen
- do you only get a grey/white screen
- do you get a map that doesn't match your world
- You get a map but the villages shown are not where they're suppose to be
I guess we'll need more info if you're to get any help

Well I could suggest 'gimmeabreak' (does this still work on latest version ??) or (just to boost my viewing ratings) I could suggest the one I found that has 4 smallish villages near each other (easily within a day run from each other)
Should work with your version ( 2.2 ??? WTF !!! - we're only at 1.2.5 ATM so I'm guessing you mean 1.2.2)

So thanks for the info....Added to first post
FYI - I've now also added a new section to first post ('Additional Stuff found [contributions]') for any new stuff found by anyone else.
As you can see I'm sticking a [edited] 'quote' into a 'spoiler' so that people know who found it & I MAY add photos as-&-when I feel up to it

I know this DOESN'T work with 12w17a snapshot (yet) - it come up with 'Unsupported version of minecraft detected!',
but this popup also has 'enter code to continue (Name of IntCache Class)' & a box underneath to enter something....
Am I right in assuming that IF we knew the 'Name of IntCache Class' & entered it - this WOULD work with the snapshot, without having to update the program ??
If so - how would us mere mortals try & find out the required file name ??
