posted a message on [Guide Included] Portforwarding Megathread: Post your Port Forwarding questions here!
I was hosting a server on another computer fine for about a year, portforward went smoothly and everything was running fine. Today I moved my server to my new laptop on the same network, but now it says that the 25565 ports are blocked? It's on the same network so if I try to re-do the PF steps it's already been complete and I've allowed the ports through the firewall (even disabled the firewall) but the ports still aren't going through. What's wrong?

    Did you port forward correctly?

Try disabling the DynDns service you use and using the server's actuall IP.

Also; did you forward all external 25565 requests to the local IP the server is running on?

I assume I did portforward correctly as I've been successfully hosting the server on my old computer for about a year now.

I can't actually connect to my own server unless I use localhost and my friend's can't connect whether they use my IP or the dyndns.

I did allow all 25565 ports.

Sorry for making so many new threads but I'm bad at this haha.

So I just switched my server host from my old desktop to a laptop. I can connect to my server just fine using localhost, but my friends can't connect to the server using the static IP I set up with dyndns. It's on the same network so the portforward should still work, what else is making this not work?

Yup, just move your server folder with a USB or something.

Alright, thank you both very much ^_^

There could be a few, here's just two I can think of off of the top of my head.

You can either buy and use a USB drive (Very cheap and reliable), or use dropbox (Free and reliable).

    Hope I helped. :)

Would it just be a simple copy paste server folder? Would I have to change any files?

So I used to host a server for me and my friends on my old Windows XP 32 bit. I recently got a Windows 8 64 bit laptop, and I'm wondering how I transfer the server host from my old desktop to my new laptop? Thanks!

So I'm trying to bind my external IP to a dyndns host server name. When I try to connect to my server with localhost, it works perfectly. But when I use the bound dyndns address, it says it can't reach server. Any ideas why?

Plugins I use are currently Essentials, Essentials GroupManager, and Lockette. The problem I'm having is that anyone except for people who I op for the server can't open doors. Also, members can't use the /spawn command for some reason.
