posted a message on Console Log colour problem
I'm creating a control panel with php and while designing the console, I created the php script to read from logs/latest.log, but I'm not able to process the console's color codes and it shows up on the webpage like this:

    [09:21:13] [Server thread/INFO]: [Server] hi

The text shows up in the console like this:

    [09:21:13 INFO]: [Server] hi

    Yes, that is purple

What could be a good way to process this into colour through a php script?

    Thanks in advance!

posted a message on Auto close screen with stop command
I am running a minecraft server on the screen name "srv", when I use the STOP command in game, the screen session does not end. Is there a way so hat it automatically ends once the server has stopped or should I use nohup to start the server.

My server is experiencing horrible lag. People disconnecting left and right. Is this a serverside problem?

I am no representative of theirs but I run a server and ninety percent of the time, this happens due to too many, ir incorrectly configured plugins.

posted a message on Auto download latest server version
I am creating a control panel and I wanted to know if there is a link by which the latest versions of these servers can be downloaded:

    Minecraft vanilla
    Bukkit Final release
    Bukkit beta release
    Bukkit development build
    Tekkit
    Hexxit

Basically, I want a link so that it'll automatically download the latest version and there won't be a need to select the version.

Try to use your own custom web design instead of the over used one's and never use box billing it's litteraly crap! use WHMCS

    Sure thing!

posted a message on Starting a new host
Well, this might sound super unprofessional, but bear with me.

I am a web developer and am pretty good with linux and mysql. I have prepared a website for providing server hosting and my algorithm allows us to host servers for people at an extremely low price.

The code is almost ready and I have enough funds to give the company a start, although not a very good one. I am ready to give people a share or stake in the company if they venture in some money for advertisement and stuff like that.

Also, if there are any good people who can work as support reps or help in bug detecting, you are welcome to!

Anyone interested? Just PM me or give me some suggestions!

Here are the plans I have come up with:

    $5.25[Skeleton Plan]:

    512 MB RAM
    20 GB SSD
    1 Dedicated CPU
    Free Website
    Free subdomain
    Default Port[:25565]

    $10.50[Creeper Plan]:

    1024 MB RAM
    30 GB SSD
    1 Dedicated CPU
    Free Website
    Free subdomain
    Default Port[:25565]

    $21.99[Blaze Plan]:

    2048 MB RAM
    40 GB SSD
    2 Dedicated CPUs
    Free Website
    Free subdomain
    Default Port[:25565]

    $44.99[Enderman Plan]:

    4096 MB RAM
    60 GB SSD
    4 Dedicated CPUs
    Free Website
    Free subdomain
    Default Port[:25565]

    $85.99[Enderdragon Plan]:

    8192 MB RAM
    80 GB SSD
    8 Dedicated CPUs
    Free Website
    Free subdomain
    Default Port[:25565]

posted a message on How to be a minecraft server host?
I have all the code ready for a host using some VPS architecture. And due to the awesome algorithm, we will not even need to spend money on servers/nodes, thus concentrating on advertisement. I know my way around in server Operating systems, so we should be good for the most part.

Although I do not have enough funds, so, if you will, we could go on with a partnership, maybe?

E-mail me at [email protected] for more.

People won't travel probably farther then 20,000 blocks in one direction. Honestly, I don't think your going to need to worry about it.

Well, I wont but its my server so the players could be able to do this....

"More then 20 GB" is quite an understatement. I read once that you have to count in terabytes to determine the storage space that such a world requires. And a lot of years or maybe even some decennia of constant loading new chunks. So good luck. ;)

    Quote from Fearce

you can install a plugin like worldborder to make the world as small as you want

Thanks, but I did not want to limit my players' creativity, but any ways, you were really helpful ;)

I don't know that, but why would you want to have such a big world?

Just wanted to know the limits that I have. But will all that exceed 20GB?<== That's the max disk space I can use.

I don't know exactly what you mean, but a minecraft world is 30,000,000 blocks long in every direction

Sorry, I missed that one zero there. I wanted to know if the world was expanded to its limits, how much space would it take?

Well, notch told that a minecraft world is ~90,000,000 blocks, but how much space would that take(Estimated, off course)?

I wanted to know this because I have a server and it has a storage limit on it so I just wanted to know how much space will the world take and then find out when I will need to upgrade my plan.
