Thanks now the shader works fineInside your packe (NormalMapShaders64_post) is an texture pack called misa22If i start minecraft now and chose at first lb photorealism it looks like:http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/127/20110715073401.jpgIf i switch to misa22 first.and then again to lb photo realism in looks right!http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/7115/20110715073904.jpgi´m kind of cunfusing right now?! What has the misa texture pack, what lb photo does not have ?!sry for my bad englisch not native :/

The Misa22 pack is Misa's 64 Realistic pack, and I've included in it the Terrain_NH heightmap and Terrain_S specular textures that need to be in the texture pack for the shaders to work properly. My guess is your LB Photorealism texture pack doesn't contain a Terrain_NH or Terrain_S png.

Do a search in this thread for posts by Laurina. She's been unofficially updating it lately. Find the latest one she's made with the download link.

As for the mipmapping mod, I got it working, but trust me it's not worth it.

It doesn't play well with anything transparent and heightmapped in GLSL.

Thanks! I'll see what I can do with it.

    Woah mega thanks,
finaly Parallax occlusion and specular mapping is working fine, even with lb photo realism.

I have to replace the modloader, the uglsl packet from 1.7.3 and the new mcpatcher i thought, but it worked.

It is normal, that the ingamescreen, looks a bit purple? Like a color filter?

The shader I included has a bit of a blue tint to it. If you don't like it just remove final.fsh, or find a new final.fsh you like better in the official download in the OP.

I just made a kit for some friends a couple days ago. By components for mapping I assume you mean a couple specular and normal heightmap files. The included texture pack has the S and NH maps inside it. They're not fully updated to the terrain.png in the file, so some things look weird ingame, but the stuff in there should help you out, if that's what you're looking for.

Wait, mipmapping patch? Someone have a link to that? If I can get that working with this I'll post how I did it.

Please try to optimize your code, if possible. Even with all my lovely and intricate FPS boosters, this lags like hell.

She's working off Dax's code, and regardless, adding graphical features will tax your GPU.

It looks like you've got the resolution set wrong on your bump mapping shader. I'm just going to go for the easy fix. I'm pretty sure these are the right shaders you're looking for:

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6250847/NormalMapShaders64/NormalMapShaders64.zip

Just copy them into the shaders directory in minecraft.jar.

I didn't even know MCpatcher was capable of that. Huh.

That being said, I have no idea why this issue is cropping up now, given that it's worked previously without using mcpatcher to install mods. It's just this version of GLSL that's giving me issues.

Also, does anyone know how to edit which set of blocks waves in the waving wheat etc. shader? Apparently pistons are in the set of blocks that shader has set to wave.

Without further ado, I present the fruits of my labour :tongue.gif:

    Regular version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25451490/glsl_unofficial_1.7.3.zip
    Modloader version: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25451490/glsl_unofficial_1.7.3_ml.zip

The modloader version is to be installed after modloader itself.

Default shaders included (DOF and World Curvature). For more, download the official 1.5 package, or visit the wiki. See first post of this thread.

I decided against releasing the source code. It's basically the same code as the latest official version, only more messy since it's decompiled. Also, I think Mojang might disapprove if I released substantial amounts of the decompiled game here.

    Enjoy :smile.gif:

I'm having a weird problem. I run MCpatcher, then install Modloader, then install the ModLoader version of this mod in your post. When the Mojang logo fades, all I get is the menu background, then blackness. Not even a crash. I've tried removing CV.class from Modloader when installing just to be safe, that didn't work either. I thought it might have been a case of not having any height or specular textures in the pack I had selected, so I put them in. Still the same thing. If I install this mod, I can't get to the menu. For the sake of experimentation, I haven't installed any mods other than, in order of installation:

    1. MCpatcher 2.1.0_02
    2. ModLoader 1.7.3
    3. GLSL Unofficial ML 1.7.3

It's just not working. Any ideas?

So this is incompatible with HD Texture packs?

    Pity, this looks very interesting.

Install mcpatcher FIRST, WITHOUT bettergrass, and it'll work. I installed it on top of a bunch of other things, it's working great for me, aside from the odd stutter. I'm running HDTP with Misa's pack, GLSL Shaders, ZanMinimap, and this.

The issue is with modloader and bettergrass. If you want a BG-like effect, extend the sides of your grass blocks further down in an image editor. That's what I did.

    great mod! love it

one thing i discovered! the cave sounds (dripping etc) play when im in my branch mine and it seems to lag the hell outta the game when checking area! especially when the cave sounds playing and then say the water flowing sound has to play (water nearby) or a portal sound has to load!

it's not the comp as my comp is very high spec and runs the game 100-200+fps no prop!

    here's a pic:
    [SIMG]http://i.imgur.com/6v0jT.png[/SIMG]
(the green is where the sound for portal stopped playing, high points are where the sound for portal was playing/loading)

    hope it helps

I'm getting this issue too. Lags to hell when I'm in the nether, too.

Edit: I'm around a lot of fire.

I've updated the GLSL shader maps again, hopefully Dax will officially update the mod soon. There's a fan update in that thread somewhere.

These still have my personal alterations in them, so I'm posting these as-is.

Ahh, "install textures" in your instructions confused me. I thought you just meant regular texture packs and thought I'd basically already completed that step. Didn't know you meant the NH and S files.

It's working now! Many thanks, man.

I'm having trouble installing Laurina's port. I followed these instructions exactly:

\You can install in 1.6.6 thanks to Laurina http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25451490/glsl_unofficial_166_ml.zip With a fresh unmessed with minecraft.jar!

    1. Drag contents of modloader zip into minecraft.jar >> I think you have to run the game once.
    2. Drag contents of Laurina's patch for GLSL into minecraft.jar, just into the root of the file, same as modloader.
    3. Run mcpatcher (HD patch) to enable HD texture packs.
    4. install shader scripts, destination is a folder called "shaders" in the root of minecraft.jar >> these scripts are distributed with the unpatched version of GLSL, you can get it from DAX... he's awesome, and I'd take a skeleton arrow for him.
    5. read the bump map section of this wiki for information on sexy, sexy textures. I have problems with specular lighting making my torches look fubar, and blanking out textures occasionally... I turned it off for now because there's very little info available for specular problems.
    6. install textures to the texture folder OUTSIDE of the minecraft.jar file, just in the minecraft folder.
    7. say "oooooh"

I opened a new jar, dropped modloader in, ran minecraft once, then dropped in Laurina's ML patch. I created a new folder named "shaders" in the root of the jar, and dropped my shaders in, and put terrain_nh and terrain_s into the root of the jar. Then I ran MCPatcher, then ran minecraft again. None of the effects showed. No bump mapping, nothing. I can't find out for the life of me what's wrong.

Edit: Looking into it further, it looks like running MCPatcher after doing anything else reverts ALL the files except for the net folder to the default before patching. I looked for shaders$lightsource.class and the others after patching with MCP, and they were all gone. The game runs if you run mcpatcher last, but no shaders. Running the game after installing the shader mod AFTER MCP crashes the game. This is so frustrating.

Whoops, I think I dropped something... Don't ask me what it is! I have no idea how one would go about using this. I'm not fully trained in the art of copy and pasting in an image editor or anything...

How the heck did I miss these? I honestly don't know, and I'm probably damn late in saying thanks! The ones I hacked in kind of sucked.
