Hi, I am currently developing an inventory mod that is client side only that can move items throughout the inventory freely. I am trying to take off a piece of armor and put it into the players hot bar, this seems simple and I am new so it probably is. I know you can do this for example by opening your inventory and pressing a number on your keyboard that corresponds to the hot bar slot. Or you can pickup the item and then drop it into another slot. Is there a way I can do this with code to say, put the chest plate in the hot bar slot 5? Btw: I am working with forge for Minecraft 1.8.9 And I am trying to keep this code completely client side which I am pretty sure is possible. Help would be greatly appreciated and It would be super helpful if some code could be used to show me but if you think you can explain it that would be great.
