posted a message on Cigars vs. Cigarettes - Which is better?
    Quote from Bluegamer97

    here, http://www.tobaccofr....org/cigar.html

and to where I heard what I originally said, health class a long time ago.

To summarize the site Cigars are indeed worse than Cigarettes, for the body and the people around the person. But they're are still horrible

Yes, because that site takes the example to extremely absurd levels.

"Smoking three to four cigars per day increases the risk of oral cancers to
8.5 times greater than the risk of a nonsmoker, and smoking more than
five cigars daily raises the oral cancer risk to 16 times the level for
    nonsmokers."

LOLwut? Anyone who smokes 3 to 4 a day deserves to die like the moron they are. Out of everyone I know who smokes cigars none of them come remotely close to this level of insanity. Hell, when I smoke a cigar, depending on the size, I might only smoke half of it before I am finished with it.

And don't get me started on the "people around them" argument. I smoke by myself, in the company of other smokers, or around people who don't care. The whole "second hand smoke" argument is ludicrous... with the exception of parents who smoke to excess and subject their children to it.

Edit: Oh and I just noticed this: "When cigar smokers inhale..." the person that wrote this site clearly doesn't know what cigar smokers do. Or perhaps they are intentionally being deceptive.

This is like asking whether getting stabbed or dying in a fire is better.

Everything kills. Life kills. So yes, which would you prefer?

    Quote from Draco27
    They are both expensive,

Only as expensive as you make them. I only smoke on occasion (usually while I am on vacation) and I enjoy a good Cigar far more than Cigarettes. But when you consider how much I spend annually on Cigars... it is less than $50. Hardly expensive when you compare that to how much people spend on other things. My video game habit costs me far more annually than my cigar smoking AND it is worse for my health.

    Quote from Draco27
    they both taste bad,

A matter of opinion. I would recommend anyone try my favorite flavored cigar "Earth Nectar" by CAO. They're tasty as hell.

    Quote from Draco27
    they are both cancer sticks,

Lots of things cause cancer. Shall we devalue them as cancerous things that should be banned as well?

    Quote from Draco27
and the later has killed someone I loved.

As I said, lots of things cause death. Pick your poison. Everyone dies sometime and some of us would prefer to die in certain ways... I for one hate the idea of living to an old age where Alzheimers robs me of my ability to think and I wander around in a confused state not even sure of who I am any more. That sounds like a nightmare to me.

    1 Cigar= about 3 cigarettes

I'm pretty sure its like that. But either way they're both horrible. They're practically cancer in a stick

    [Citation Needed]

By the way... you don't inhale cigars. So a comparison of this nature is pointless. As for personal opinion: I only smoke cigars on occasion. I enjoy them about as much as I enjoy pipe tobacco. I don't particularly care for cigarettes.

Edit: And by the way, I think the anti-smoking sentiment on this forum is insane. Smoking is just as bad for you as many other things... when you smoke excessively your health suffers. The same could be said for eating too much fast food, drinking too much caffeine, eating too many sweets, and sitting on your butt in front of a computer. We're all going to die of something some day. Pick your poison.

posted a message on Female MMA: Legitimate Sport or Sexploitation?
So I just finished watching which stars the female MMA fighter Gina Carano (who you might know as Natasha from Red Alert 3 or as Crush from American Gladiators). Seeing her in this film made me wonder if the female MMA industry is tainted by sexualizing the fighters. Personally I love MMA but I would be concerned if more attractive fighters are given priority over unattractive ones. Would this be less of an issue if there was a mixed gender MMA league?

    Thoughts?

posted a message on Does Off Topic Learn?
I'm just curious if the level of intellegence of a forum rises over time or stays the same. Case in point: when I was making my deceptive threads here a good number of the regular members started to catch on to them and began posting more cautiously (which arguably made their posts more intellegent). Although one could argue that nothing was learned and I could, word for word, repost one of my old threads and get similar results.

tldr; Over time does the average level of intellegence of Off Topic rise, lower, or stay the same?

Yeah people always brag about "getting wasted" my mom said she doesn't care if I drink but I don't because it tastes disgusting

I highly doubt they're bragging... merely relating how much fun they had or how horrible it was throwing up all night. Or both. Some of my best nights have started off great and ended horribly. Heh. Heh. Heh.

posted a message on Substitution Swears
It has come to my attention that MCF has limited our vernacular recently (?... I've been gone so I don't know exactly when).

As one of the moronic masses that cannot get through a paragraph without fracking swearing in some form or another I've decided to ask the OT community for replacement words that we all know the real meanings of... that way I can be just as inflammatory as I normally would in but in words that are allowed by the powers that be.

I shall edit this post with a dictionary of alternative swears if enough swears (of merit) are suggested.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Frack
Meaning - Obvious swear is obvious.

Because squid was overly concerned about the opinions of a nonexistent user base than the actual users and decided to childishly shelter himself from reality.
