I guess the tl:dr version of what I am trying to get at here is:

When does music cross the line of ethics? Is it wrong to like a song that I find morally reprehensible? What does society think? Why are songs that promote what society as a whole would otherwise deem is wrong so popular?

I'm not offended by it or anything (I wouldn't be even if I was religious), however, I do think it's stupid when people write anti-religious just to be cool and dark and all the stupid stuff like that.

But what if it is how they feel? As I said, I don't identify with the song I posted but when I was an angsty teenager I wrote some "dark poetry" like so many teenagers do. Again, I was not "Satanic" when I was a teen. But what about those who were that way (not just to be "cool" but because that is who they were)?

    Edit: Edited again for clarity.

Being an Atheist, I do not really mind songs that promote Satanic ideas. Music is music. It is a way for people to express themselves, so if they want to sing about the devil and hell, then fine by me.

This is basically how I feel but I find it interesting how it can extend beyond this at times. As with the example song in the OP... I am against killing.... but I like the song. Same too with a rap song that might mention rape or murder... the song itself might be enjoyable but the content is something I wouldn't promote.

Thus the moral conflict that ensues when one promotes an artist that expresses these "negative" emotions/attributes. They're not things we want more of in reality but it is somehow okay to express artistically... which could be misunderstood by some.

    Edit: Edited for clarity.

I enjoy a lot of Heavy/Death Metal songs that have Satanic themes but I do not personally have Satanic beliefs. Thus this thread. Please add any additional input you feel necessary.

Below is an example song from a death metal band (if you enjoy please state why or why not and how it relates to, or defies, your spiritual beliefs):

[On a personal note: I enjoy the song posted above but I have no emotional attachment to the actual message of the song and what it stands for. I just think it is a catchy tune. Thoughts?]

spoken for - not on the market - taken - someone in a relationship with another - married - unavailable

Ok. Now I understand. Women who aren't married are "on the market" like prostitutes. That's why we pay for the meal. So just make sure she isn't married and you won't waste your money on her food.

As long as she isn't "spoken for" then you might as well just spend your 26th sleeping, it's probably the best idea anyway.

What if it's your 29th? Is it okay if she is "spoken for"? What does that mean anyway?

Like I said I'm just speculating based off what I've read.

What books have you read and do any of them address relations in depth?

I would think so. Being in heaven implies you aren't a sinful creature or you have sinned and have been forgiven by believing in Christ, so it's implied being birthed into heaven would have the same standards.

I'd also imagine it would be like Buddha in that way, considering growing up is really an earth thing.

I'm just speculating here based off what I know. Not entirely sure but mostly sure.

Are you a medium like John Edward? Do I have any famous dead relatives?

sigh. fine... a female human of appropriate legal age for a 26 year old.

What is the appropriate legal age for a 26 year old and is it any different than a 28 year old (my age)?

I do know that there would be no need to be baptized in heaven because if you are in heaven, you've already made it clear that you believe in christ, so there isn't any point.

So a baby born in heaven believes in Christ at birth? Are they born like Buddha was (able to walk and talk immediately after birth)?

    A girl.

Pretty sure it is illegal for a 25 year old man to do a girl. Although I suppose that would depend on what country he is celebrating his birthday in.

I don't know if I believe we can create life... after death (added ... to make it clear that it is "life" "after death" and not "life after death" that I am talking about).

If a baby is born in heaven do they have to be baptized?

Of course, we are dealing with a question that has no known answer, so really anything can work.

I think it can be answered. Someone like John Edwards would be a better expert to ask but I don't think he has addressed this issue.

When we die can we still have relations with our deceased loved ones? Heaven is supposed to be a place where we can do what we want, right? But doesn't the Bible say something about relations (in the biblical sense) being solely for the purpose of procreation? I don't know if I could call a place "heavenly" if I couldn't have relations there. Sweet sweet relations. Relations.
