What is this about?
Somewhere around Minecraft alpha and beta, they added a switch difficulty button. This has severely altered gameplay. A lot of Minecraft users, including me, can't help but switch to "Peaceful" mode in certain situations.
Even though we have hardcore, we do not want our world to be deleted, but we still want a challenge with hostile mobs!
How will this work?
Before creating a new world, you will have an option to lock difficulty. Then, it will prompt you to set the a certain difficulty (Peaceful, Easy, Normal, or Hard). Once the world is created, you will no longer be able to switch the difficulty from the one selected before creating the world.
Why do we need this?
After playing singleplayer for a few months in Beta, it became to easy, so I moved on to multiplayer, where there is PvP and a locked difficulty. This is the case with most Minecraft users. We want a challenge, without all our hard work being deleted in hardcore! This is defiantly a unnecessary part of Minecraft. Players will experience a lot of fun, building castles, advancing, and defending themselves against zombies. Roleplaying in a world with monsters where they have to thrive, knowing they can't turn off the dangers!
How you can help?
There's multiple ways you can help!
Mod: If you are a modder, we would greatly appreciated you to make a mod like this. It will help s experience better gameplay, and most likely reach high popularity. Mojang might even add the mod to the game, as they did with a few others mods.
Spread the word: Share this post with your friends, social networks, blogs, Minecraft fan sites, etc.! You will be taking part in helping Minecrafters experience better gameplay.
Contact Mojang: Tell them about our new idea! Use twitter, email, or any other way you know you can reach mojang.
Use this signature! (Better one coming soon)
IMPORTANT: I don't want to lock the difficulty on all worlds. This would be an OPTION before creating a world to lock a certain difficulty.
Thanks for reading! We hope you can make this idea more popular and help Minecraftians in an overall better, challenging, Minecraft experience.

m3aga1n posted a message on Classic GamemodeI think that there should be a new gamemode, classic. Think back to the good old days of Minecraft. I've been playing since beta 1.4, but some of you have been since alpha. I still love minecraft, but sometimes, I want to be able to play like it used to. I think this "new" gamemode should turn off hunger, sprinting, stackable food, charging bows, (maybe) blocking, but be able to keep all the new items in it. A lot of the newer Minecrafters won't agree, but I know That I'll have some of the older ones on my side here. It's basically 1.7.1 with all the new stuff that has been added.Posted in: Suggestions -

TwentyFive posted a message on New mobs in 1.6? Jeb Tweethere's what I was thinkingPosted in: Future Updates
Vultures
Vultures would fly around in the sky in a circling pattern. When you are low in health and almost dead, they would fly closer to you. They would perch on top of things (not on the ground kinda like high peaks and buildings) I guess they could drop feathers or something. they would be passive.
Mummies
I was thinking that this would kinda be like a zombie. But instead of both arms out maybe one could be slightly pointed down. They would have a limping movement and they wouldnt burn up (because of their bandages) Maybe there could be a mummy spawner in a desert temple that spawns them of they just spawn in deserts. they would make moaning sounds but not likee a zombie. they could drop rotten flesh maybe. they would be hostile.
Ghosts
I don't know how people would react to this kind of mob but it seems cool. This could add a whole new difficulty because since they are ghosts, you cant hit them. They could be a mob that you can only run from and they die in the sunlight? they'd drop nothing... cause there ghosts. They would also fly so that would make it hard. they would be hostile.
Fish
I don't need to say much about this one. It spawns in water and drops 1 fish when killed. Could spawn in schools of about 5-8 or something.
Bees
I think this would be cool because it could add new blocks and items too. A bee would be a small mob that flies around making buzzing noises. It could either spawn by flowers or a new block called a Bee hive. A bee hive could hold a colony of maybe 10-20 bees. they would be neutral unless u hit one of them or destroy their hive. you can collect the hive and make it into one of those bee house things. Because the bees will spawn by flowers, you can farm them. They would make honey/honeycomb which could be eaten or used for something else. If you right click the hive it would every now and them drop a honey/honeycomb
Red Dragon
I don't have to say much here. But maybe a tower would spawn on a hight peak in a mountain biome (very rare) On top would be the red dragon. You would need to fight it and If you win, then you can tame it. (Not gonna be easy at all ) and when it is tamed you could get a saddle and rid it? Just my opinion.
Beavers
Would spawn in swamps. They would be seen gnawing on wood and trees. they could change a wood block into a smaller wood block (kinda like a fence but not a fence) when killed they could drop fur. maybe you could make fur clothing out of it?
I hope that you guys liked my ideas! I have more ideas but I don't feel like typing them in now... maybe later. -

I have a single player server that I like to let loose in. I just finished my most recent build: Dragon Attack! This is my first dragon, so don't be harsh LOL

Last November I did a build before the holidays: City of Fesh'knet. It is an Egyptian themed build where I combined large structures with organic statues and also pixelart.

Oct 2012 was definately a Halloween themed month with my version of Halloween Town from Nightmare before Christmas. My first time building up to the top of the sky.

My first large scale creative build was this little number. "Puerto de Corazon" was inspired by the cathedral, which I build first, and the heart shaped island where I plonked the lighthouse.

This world is single player, and I just do this for relaxation, I dont plan on making any changes once the cities are "done" so I hope you enjoy them for what they are!

SynthetikR posted a message on [1.4.6] [128x] Woocraft, ContinuationPosted in: Resource PacksWoocraft
Info:Now that Woorah has discontinued this pack due to the fact that he is no longer playing the game, I have
decided to do my best to continue this pack to the best of my ability. As of now, I am currently using Kyctarniq's version of Woocraft in which he calls it "WooToo" and added a few tweaks here and there as well as some other textures that I have created. Currently I am too busy with what is currently happening in my life, so I will start to work on this pack once I have the time, until then I hope you have the patience and enjoy this pack as much as I do.
I will try to keep Woorah's main goals and motivations for this pack such as being as color matched as possible, be at a high res but not so detailed, adding more custom Asian art, etc.
Original Thread: http://www.minecraft...d-woocraft-v11/
Still updating :/

*More images will be posted as I progress*
Download:Woocraft (1.4.6): http://www.mediafire...18dqvyraz97pala*Note: Since this pack is 128x res, you will have to use MCpatcher or Optifine
Other Textures:Currently there are several missing textures that are yet to be finished. If you have any suggestions or have any textures of your own that you have made and would like for me to use it in this texture pack, they are more than welcome. (just pm me whatever the texture is and I'll be sure to take a look at it and keep in mind the Asian-themed textures)
