Feb 14, 2015Boomheadshot1254 posted a message on Lets face it - Ep.1: Mojang [Uncomfortable Topic!]So many kids here defending this game when there's cold hard facts right in front of them. Look, sometimes you gotta be negative and harsh to nail it to the devs that things need a change. If people just sit around and say, "Oh it's okay!" and "Ah well the game is still good!" then nothing will change and get fixed.Posted in: Discussion
Sep 10, 2014I've been a heavy Minecraft player for almost 4 years now, I love Microsoft and almost all their products, but if this deal is for real and Mojang sells Minecraft to Microsoft, I will without a doubt delete the game off my PC and never return to it. Because I know that Microsoft will somehow mess up the game. I hope this deal doesn't go through if it is real.Posted in: Discussion

Apr 4, 2013Awesome! I've been a PC playey for 2 years now and I've already experienced these "new" things, but I always love XBLA Minecraft updates. Also the enderdragon and end in MC360 looks better. The dragon shoots acid and the crystals have their own colorful beam and sometimes a cage around them. Really wish the PC had stuff like that :P. Even the little things matter.Posted in: Minecraft News

Jun 9, 2013kingbdogz posted a message on [Alpha] The Aether II: Genesis of the Void (The Festive Update! Presents, new companions, and more!)Posted in: Minecraft ModsATTENTION:The Aether II is in ALPHA. There aren't many huge bugs, but there's also not much content. We're working on adding tons more for the future, but we recommend YouTubers and reviews hold off until we at least reach the beta state! If you find any bugs, please report them to our GitHub. Thanks and enjoy!
We're looking for programmers! Check out this post.
After over a year of work, Gilded Games is proud to present...
The Aether II, a Gilded Games project.Join the community at www.AetherII.com.
What is the Aether II?
The original Aether mod was one of the largest and most popular Minecraft mods of its time back in the Minecraft beta. With the Aether II, we aim to recreate that same amazing experience but with a fleshed-out sense of quality. The mod includes amazing features such as our advanced party system, our vastly redesigned dungeons, and much, much more. Aether II is designed to be the polar opposite of the Nether, a grand realm of floating islands in the sky with dark secrets beneath. Getting to the Aether is easy -- a 4x5 glowstone portal (just like the Nether portal!) and a little water will open the path to the skies. Discover new unique mobs and items in this vast and beautiful world.
... But why are there so many bugs?
The Aether II is currently in an open alpha development stage, meaning the mod is highly unstable in some areas. Don't fret, though, we will soon be releasing our first beta update, complete with tons of fixes, improved systems, new biomes, mobs, items, and more.
New Ores, Items, and Armor
While exploring the Aether you'll come across a variety of new ores, such as Ambrosium and Gravitite. Search and discover each new ore and unlock its secrets!
The Aether II is also accompanied by sevreal new sets of armor each accompanied by its own special ability. A full set of Neptune armor, for example will allow you to walk across the depths of the ocean with ease, and a full set of Valkyrie armor will allow you to fly! Getting your hands on these mythic sets won't be easy, though. Fight and defeat dungeons, and if all else false, try your luck at using some Continuum!
Dungeons and the Party System
One of the most revolutionary additions to the Aether II is our advanced dungeon and party system, allowing you to team up with friends to tackle some of the Aether's most difficult (and rewarding) challenges together. Explore the newly designed Slider's Labyrinth, a reimagination of the original Aether's bronze dungeon, and fight the realms darkest and most dangerous foes.
Once you've assembled your party, have the party leader simply right click the dungeon's entrance, queue up, and enter the depths of the labyrinth. Dungeons regenerate their loot, enemies, and bosses after a party leaves, ensuring everyone gets a shot, not just whoever finds it first.
While the original Aether's dungeons only took up a small area, the Aether II's Slider Labyrinth occupies entire islands, meaning you'll have no shortage of loot to grab, enemies to fight, or chambers to explore! Each dungeon contains five minibosses that must be defeated before gaining access to the final boss, the Slider.
How are you going to conquere dungeons with your friends without having a way to meet up? The Aether II is built on the Minecraft Forge API, allowing an easy way to create and manage Aether multiplayer servers! Minecraft Wiki provides a simple tutorial on how to get your own server up and running.
But if you don't want the hassle, just hit the "Official Aether Server" button on the main menu. We've got an awesome server set up by the awesome team at CraftNode Hosting complete with an myraid plugins and an awesome community to help you get started!
The Aether II Launcher
We know installing mods can be difficult, so we're proud to present the Aether II Launcher! All it takes it logging in with your typical Minecraft credentials, choosing what version you want, and hitting play. The launcher will install everything you need to a new folder, .aether, so you can still easily manage all of your Aether II files. Launcher not working for you? Make sure you're running on an updated version of Java 7, and if you're still having issues, you can grab the files for a manual installation below.Download the launcher: Click here!

Donations (and perks!)
Donating to the Aether II will unlock the Donator Perks section in your inventory, allowing access to several exclusive skins for your Moas, plus many more perks we're working on! Donating is easy and directly supports the developers so we can continue work on bringing the mod closer to release. About this pack:
This pack was originally to appease my insatiable hunger toward making this game as realistic as possible. What started as a compilation of other mods became a new texture pack of it's own.
DONATE!!!!Donations are more than welcome. I'm going to remove the Adfly links entirely so donating will simply help pay for the Mediafire pro account. =)
People to thank for their large donations:
Thank you for your dedication and donations. I really appreciate people understanding the delicate time and effort put into these higher resolution packs.

I had a few personal requests to do these lower resolution textures. They still need heavy refinements but still came out pretty decent with the downsampling. I won't be doing compressed versions of these since it would simply be redundant.

Aug 12, 2011AbrarSyed posted a message on [v4.7.1-BETA] SecretRoomsMod - Malsis Doors Compat!Posted in: Minecraft ModsSecret Rooms modThis mod adds a variety of cool blocks that camouflage themselves to the surrounding world. All of these blocks have extremely useful functions that allow you to simply hide your diamonds, or punish all who dare try to get to them. Hidden doors, pressure plates, hidden levers and more! pay special attention to the revolutionary Ghost block. this block is visible in every way, but you can walk right through it. A fearsome trap for anyone who dares try stealing your diamonds with a floor made of this stuff over a pit of lava.
SecretRoomsMod for 1.7.10 in BETA01/23/2015 6:04 PM Central Standard Time USAYeah I kinda gave up on adding new features because im busy and lazy. However thanks to Ordinastie, we now have Malsis Doors compatibility and fancy animations for the camo doors (if Malsis doors is installed). And ownership is now saved, so when permissions become a reality this mod will be nicely compatible. And maybe to help you do other stuff too, wel see. I also have word that someone may be helping me maintain this mod, so we might get some new features sooner rather than later. More details on that later.

- backslash '\'; -- changes the way the OneWay camo blocks are placed. this can be changed under the controls menu.
- /srm-show -- toggles the visibility of the secret blocks. They only update in a certain radius though. so going around breaking blocks is a sure way to update the Camo blocks around them. It may be a good idea to toggle this command multiple times.
1) Torch lever
BlockID = 2020
Works like a normal lever, but looks exactly like a torch. It even sheds light.
2) OneWay Camo
BlockID = 2021
One side camo, all the rest glass. Looks like glass in the inventory. When placed, camo side is either towards or away from you. This can be toggled with the BackSlash key, \.
3) Secret Gate
BlockID = 2022
Camoflages to the blocks arround it, and when its powered, it extends up to 10 blocks. Try for your self in an open area.Its orrientation is the same as the OneWayCamo blocks.
4) CamoDummy (shelfgate extension)
BlockID = 2023
-- NO RECIPE --
Camoflauges to the blocks arround them.
5) Camo TrapDoor
BlockID = 2024
A TrapDoor that camouflages itself to the surrounding blocks. it is open-able with clicking or right-clicking, Be careful not to forget where you put it. It can be placed flush with the floor, and flush with a cieling depending on where you right-click to place it.
6) ShelfGate Extension
BlockIDs = 2025 & 2026
ItemIDs = 4106 & 4107
BROKEN IMAGE -- BROKEN IMAGE
Doors that camouflage. AS usual, the iron doors are only openabble by a redstone signal while the wooden doors can be opened with a click.
7) Camo Paste
ItemIDs = 4108
You can see them, but walk right through them.
9) Secret Lever
BlockID = 2028
Camoflages like all the other "camo" blocks, but his one works like a lever.
10) Secret Redstone
BlockID = 2029
Another Camo Block. but this one carries a redstone current just like normal redstone. The redstone works exactly liek vanilla redstone, and is nearly 100% interchangeable with it. Like vanilla redstone, it decays within 15 blocks, and needs to be refreshed with a redstone torch or repeater.
11) Secret Button
BlockID = 2030 (metadata is 0 for stone, and 1 for wood)
BROKEN IMAGE -- BROKEN IMAGE
Another Camo block, but works like a button.
12 -15) Secret Pressure-Plates
BlockIDs = 2031 -- 2034
BROKEN IMAGE -- BROKEN IMAGE
BROKEN IMAGE -- BROKEN IMAGE
These are very special camo blocks. when something passes over them, they emit a redstone signal. The wooden one on the left powers when anything goes over it. The Stone version on the right only provides power when a player passes over it. The Gold and Iron versions are weighted pressure plates and behave like their vanilla counterparts
16) Secret Stairs
BlockID = 2035
Works like stairs. You place them like you would any other, and ofcourse, they are camouflaged.
** works best with the Ghost BlocksThe recipe for this block now works with all the different types of wooden stairs that exist.
17 & 18) Secret Chests (and trapped chest)
BlockID = 2036 2037
Works like a chest, just camouflages like everything else, and doesn't open up like other chests. Camo trapped chests can be crafted the exact same way, simply with the trapped chest in the center rather than a normal chest
19) Secret Light Detector (and trapped chest)
BlockID = 2038
Works like a vanilla light detector, simply camouflaged.
20) Solid Air
BlockID = 2038
Solid air is entirely invisible, yet solid. The other Secret blocks can camouflage to its entirely transparent texture in order to make completely invisible passages and structures.

PSA: THIS PACK REQUIRES MCPATCHER! OPTIFINE IS NOT A SUITABLE SUBSTITUTE!!! IF YOU CAN NOT INSTALL MCPATCHER, DOWNLOAD SIXTYGIG LIGHT!

If you love my pack (or hate it?) Please leave a comment! I love hearing your feedback! Also don't forget to give some and love!
- My goal is to bring the feel of the vanilla texture pack to life in a more cartoony high resolution artwork. Why do I call it semi-faithful? It's not a true faithful texture pack. It won't be *exactly* like vanilla pixel:pixel like most faithful packs would be, it's still going to be completely my original work hand drawn from scratch. But it will be based on the vanilla texture pack. If you pay close attention to my textures, you'll notice I almost always use the same base colors and shapes of the original vanilla textures, only deviating where allowed without breaking the ultimate feel of Minecraft. A good example would be textures with very distinctive shapes like planks, chests, doors and bricks will retain their original shape/form, just redrawn into my art style.
The purpose of being faithful to the original vanilla blocks is simple, a lot of texture packs go wrong (in my opinion) by totally changing the basic design of the blocks, shaping them into another block style entirely. For example, the planks in Sphax's famous BDCraft, while beautiful, look more like box crates than MC style planks. While that is perfectly fine in a single player environment, I feel it's not good in a multiplayer environment. You want to know your builds look good with vanilla so everyone can enjoy your masterwork, not just you with your texture pack! With my pack, you won't have to switch back and forth!
EVEN IN 1.7: MCPatcher is required to take advantage of this packs full capabilities!
Here's a link to MCPatcher, install it

If you're interest in making unofficial mod texture support for SixtyGig, please contact me. I have a lot of resources at my disposal to help you out, including free web hosting and FTP access for your files.
Official Mod Support (Packs by me!):
Unofficial Mod Support (Packs by other people!):
- You may only use your own textures, or remixes/edits of SixtyGig's.
- They must be 64x64, and of course, cartoony!
- The textures must be faithful to the mod's textures. Just like SixtyGig's is faithful to default.
- If it's a CTM-supportable texture (most blocks/in-game objects), it must have a minimum of 9 textures.
- You can't put the download link behind Adfly (or anything like it) anywhere on the internet.
- You must host the files on the SixtyGig webserver. (You'll be given an FTP account)
- You must layout the .zip file with the textures in such a way players only need to drag+drop the mod textures out of your pack and directly into the SixtyGig pack.
- "dead" mod packs will be removed. (Either incomplete and no progress has been made in several months, or extremely out of date)
- You are free and modify my texture pack for your own personal use however you deem fit. But you MAY NOT DISTRIBUTE THOSE CHANGES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
- You are free to use this pack in any screenshots or videos you like, including monetized youtube videos.
- You are free to make this pack your official server texture pack, but your users must go to an authorized download location to obtain the pack.

A Race for Wool Map
by iTruthful, FifthWhammy, FreckleEars, and last_username
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD
(Version 1.1 updated July 11, 2013)
Race for Wool is a type of competitive Minecraft, where two teams race to acquire colored wools from two identical worlds and place them on a victory monument, while trying to slow each other down with arrow and cannon fire.
Tunnel Vision will be the battleground for the final round of the 4th Reddit Minecraft Tournament, to be played in late September, 2013. The map was originally created for the Redstoners vs Whiskey Brigade match on June 16, 2012. These teams are the respective winners of the first two RMCTs. The map was released to the teams, and the general public, only 24 hours before the match!
Tunnel Vision breaks some new ground for RFW maps. The lanes are only five blocks wide, much narrower than the typical 16 block wide lanes found in most RFW maps. It is also a very compact map, at only 192 blocks long. Despite it's small size, it is quite intricate and provides plenty of challenges.
But the most unique feature of Tunnel Vision is the "isolated lane", a path through the map that is completely seperated from the main world, and contains no supplies or resources. From the starting platform, players can choose to enter either the main lane or the isolated lane. Once they enter, they cannot switch to the other lane until the next time they respawn at the starting gates. However, supplies can be passed between the lanes at many points.
At each wool location, or "fleecy box", there is a button that is only accessible from the main lane. Pressing this button releases a wool into the isolated lane. The wool must be retrieved from the isolated lane and passed back to the main lane, where the victory monument is. All three wools must eventually be retrieved in this way in order to complete the map.
I, last_username, would like to thank my fellow mapmakers, iTruthful, FifthWhammy, and FreckleEars, for coming together and making this ambitious and experimental project happen. I'd also like to thank the RMCT staff and players who had faith in us to pull this off. It was a total blast!
Feb 9, 2013Unilegger posted a message on More Multicolored Wood Items[Petition and Reddit Post Added!]PETITION DETAILSPosted in: Suggestions
I have started a petition on personally notifying Mojang about this idea.
Here are the details:
If I get 1000 "YES"s than I will send this idea to Mojang via Twitter, Email, or Postage.
If I get more than 500 "NO"s I won't.
If I get 500 "NO"s after I get 1000 "YES"s I'll still send the idea.
If I get 1000 "YES"s after I get 500 "NO"s I'll won't.
Please vote seriously. If you don't want to vote for the petition, just click "Indifferent"
In 1.3 we got new types of wood that correspond to the log they come from, but only 3 blocks are actually those colors: the normal blocks, slabs, and stairs. Lets add more.
All of these are for aesthetics.
Each idea is rated by a 5 star rating of their importance of being added.
= Probably shouldn't be added
= Probably won't be added
= Good Chance
= Could be added
= Should be added at all costs
There could be two ways that crafting works.
IDEA 1: The output of the crafted item will be based on which wood type is most used. If there is a tie between the items, the output item will be oak type.
IDEA 2: By Ouatcheur, Crafting the items will of course, be the exact same, but trying to crafting something will multiple colors will give you the color that is used the most in the ingredients. In case of a tie, the 'winning' color will always be the one from the ingredient that has the smallest Block-ID (or damage value, for tied-in-number ingredients that all have the same smallest Block-ID).
To me, the way buttons mixed into the block they're made of was a great hidden redstone advantage. Adding multicolored buttons won't be too much, just a way so you can hide buttons on multiple wood types.
The same reason behind the buttons, plates can be hidden to the block they're made of, plus can be used for tables.
Multicolred sticks would open up new available colored blocks. The sticks, however, will not create multicolored tools.
One problem though is that the texture of the current sticks is the same color scheme as the spruce planks, so either the Oak sticks will have a new color, or the Spruce sticks will be darker than their block color scheme.
Multicolored Doors, Fence Gates and TrapDoors
If anything, doors appear on every house, and it would be nice for the doors to match colors of their houses. Trapdoors, and fence gates too could match multicolored fences and the color of houses.
Fences gates will also have their type depended normal, so different sticks or planks will be no different.
A commonly suggested idea, obviously since fences are used a lot. They match many aesthetic perspectives for biomes.
Multicolored Chests and Trapped Chests
What belongs in every house and is needed by every Minecrafter? Yes it's chests you dummy.
Why not? Their wood colored, great decor, and they don't have any current aesthetic advantages.
This would also include Trapped Chests. No better way to make a trap insuspicious than disguising it as a regular looking chest.
As a full block itself, bookshelves should've been color compatible in the first place.
Suggested by Fortanono.
Color signs add an aesthetically appeasing decoration so you can make letters mix into the background, and make those fancy couches.
Also, due to how dark Spruce and Dark Oak is, the text for them will be automatically colored white to make them easy to read.
Suggested by numerous souls.
Color ladders makes your wood colored house more appeasing, blinding into a block's background, and adding more decoration options.
Crafting tables are largely composed of the wood texture, making them stick out like a sore thumb. Although not having large decorative uses, it can make houses more symmetrical.
If they ever implement wool color based beds, this could go along with it, quintupling the possible mixes. Of course that would also make a complete mess of inventory... so this probably shouldn't and won't be added.
Believe it or not, this revolutionary redstone objects are decorational as well. They can be used as fancy tables so multicolors could help you with your interior, plus, can help you hide the pistons with the wood background.
(Pictures Coming Soon)
Multicolored JukeBoxes and NoteBlocks
Although they're largley different from wood textures, they can pimp up your houses. Note blocks can have their song sections color-coded to keep your songs organized.
I maybe abandon this idea. There's a question in the poll if you want to support it staying or leaving.
(Pictures Coming Soon)
Multicolored Item Frames
It's a bit unfair that your stuck with the birch wood for your item frames. Like signs, the multicolored item frames could mix into their backgrounds, making it more appeasing.
Whats a better way of sprucing up (pun intended) your docks than having boats of different colors? Better yet, you could have boat races with different colors!
When these boats crash they will drop planks and sticks according to their type.
I mocked up some photos for what the blocks might actually look like. I wasn't able to take pictures of placed bookshelf blocks because the side textures messed up.
Acacia Wood Items
Dark Oak Items
There is also a mod containing the fences and pressureplates that someone has brought to me.
If you have a Reddit account please consider upvoting to support the idea here.
Here's a banner for support.
Jun 7, 2012I figured that diamond ore should match the style of emerald ore since they are both gems, and I also figure since iron blocks were changed to look unique that so should diamond blocks. I noticed that emerald blocks seems to copy the pattern of the emeralds themselves, making a diamond shaped pattern, so I wanted to make the diamond blocks match diamonds as well with a raised square pattern like we see here:Posted in: Suggestions
So, I present to you my new texture ideas:
Here are a couple comparisons against emerald:
And here is a 16x16 wall and 3x3x3 cube of diamond blocks, just to give you a better idea of what they look like in a group:
And here are some side by side comparisons with the old textures:
I really hope this is at least taken into consideration, and I would appreciate comments from other users since we are who the game is made for.
Side note: If you like the textures and want to use them in your own texture pack, please feel free to do so. While I would like credit, I won't demand you do so.
Also, I've pretty much given up on the ore, and I understand the concern about how iconic the ore texture is, so I would much rather get an opinion on the block rather than the ore.
To those of you who say this is what texture packs are for, please note that this the suggestions forum. The existence of a mod or texture pack should not be used to dismiss an idea.
To those of you who think that textures shouldn't be changed, read this:
