Roanoke is a single point of light in an otherwise harsh, unforgiving new world. Only as part of the second wave of colonists you find that the light has been extinguished. With the promise of a quick return, your transport has departed from the old world to gather another load of colonists and supplies. You find your group standing in the ruins of the first failed attempt to tame this land. You are not a heroic conqueror. You are the dregs of society that either volunteered out of necessity or were shanghaied by the crown to conquer this new world. Resources and equipment will be scarce. Common tools found in other realms may not be available to you; you will have to earn what you find. Will you survive and thrive where others have failed? Only time will tell.

Roanoke is meant to be a mature, RPlite, community based, us against the world adventure. Through the use of various mods and plugins I have attempted to create a world where danger lurks around every corner and fear fills the air.
This will not be a server for everyone. If you want to adventure in a world of non-exploding creepers and if you cannot get along without /spawn, /home, and /tp; this server may not be for you. It is my hope however that this server will be a ton of fun for a few.

Features at the start will include but are not limited to:

• A fresh map set to hard difficulty full of Dungeons and Ruins created with MCDungeon to explore.

• Full powered monsters.

• Loot. Monsters drop coins and random loot including but not limited to enchanted items and potions.

• An economy with the ability for players to set up shops using NPCs.

• NPC’s who will take utility roles in the initial outpost, if the players decide to build them a safe village to populate.

• The ability to earn experience and level up skills and explore new classes.

• Lava, fire and tnt enabled.

• The ability to form factions, claim your own lands and shape the future landscape of this new world.

This is the type of server that I want to play on. As the server owner, I could set myself to admin, fly around and just watch you build. That is not my choice though. I will be playing the game with you as a member, not an admin. If I need to, I will certainly change my status and take care of what needs to be done, but it is my hope that the population will be able to police itself.

Whitelist applications are now being taken if you would like to join. The server will be opening within the week if all goes well.

You know, the little things -- like the wife's birthday, a pre-planned trip with the kids, mom breaking an ankle and spraining the other one, and relocating an aunt to a new place out of state.

Also, there were some significant changes made to Minecraft, Forge, and the API which necessitated some changes on my side -- and introduced some new bugs. That, and I was already in the middle of some significant changes to the internals (merging code and restructuring).

The only thing that could have made this release more exciting would be a forced update to a new version of Eclipse.

Hmm... no smoking gun in the server output, but the orphan appears to be the rig (mast and sails), which would explain the missing texture in the screenshot.

I reworked the whole NBT/resync process. so there shouldn't be any more orphans. Will have to wait and see. If a problem like that shows up again, try to snag a copy of the (previous?) world file.

Viking longboats have been mentioned before... easy enough to do for sailing, but I'm still of the opinion that it'd look funny with the oars missing.
