I like this idea. Being able to at least dash a while would help a lot.
And the key used should definitely be Shift. Space seems a bit too weird to me, especially for the WASD layout.
This would be ideal, in my opinion. Combining this with the stone (which can also probably be interpreted as concrete) would make some neat industrial styles possible.
Though, some solid (non-gold) metal could possibly be quite nice, too.
Fan Block : Available in horizontal and upwards forms. Horizontal fans impede horizontal movement, obviously (but don't stop it.) The upwards fan allows people to fly upwards on the air flow until they hit a ceiling or walk off the current.

A few other ideas, there should be like dummy/trap blocks. They look the same as any other block, but if you step on them, they break. You could make traps and stuff with this.
Crumbly Stone : Looks like normal stone when placed, but when you step upon it, it will turn into gravel and collapse. Thus, it will only function as a sort of trap if it's suspended over a pit.
Also, a more realistic solution for water removal and filling:
Pump Block : When placed, the pump block will begin to drain water from a room or area. Will only work in a small area, though. You cannot drain the ocean using a pump.

Also, a big old church. 1st building I had ever planned out prior to its actual creation.

I saw the first 3 blocks, and though 'Oh, boy, copyrighted content in a pay game. Like this is ever going to get in.'
Then I looked on and saw the rest of them. I have to say that those later blocks should DEFINITELY be in the game, bar none.

Yeah, the darkest shade of carpet is nowhere near dark enough to be considered black.

They'd most likely just cause the faces of the objects they hit to be lighter. Maybe they could be in different colors, like orange or white? Red?
