aren't all item affected by gravity? you mean blocks or entities right?
When they said "affected by gravity" they mean when the blocks have already been placed. All entities are affected by gravity (including flying entities like the ender dragon and bats). Only sand and gravel are affected by gravity, i.e. when you break one block at the bottom of a stack of gravel or sand, the whole stack falls one block. If you do it for dirt or wood or anything like that though, the other blocks on top of it doesn't move.
UPDATE: Well, I just got a baby villager! Blacksmith count: 2. I trapped them in the "mega-house" while I went off and searched for a desert to grab enough sand to make a villager breeder, in which case I'm then going to switch all the building doors with iron and destroy said mega-house. Thanks for the help everyone.
When you observe them do you ever see one of them giving off hearts? If not, then either one of them doesn't have enough food or your 'houses' aren't really houses. If you do observe hearts over one, make sure and give some food to the one without hearts. Then just make sure and wait in the area until they have a baby. When you only have two villagers it may take quite awhile before both of them are in the mood at the same time.
Yes, I've seen both of them give off hearts, just never at the same time. I've tried feeding the blacksmith and he didn't pick anything up, so I presume my next best bet would be to give some to the fisherman in hopes that it will prod them to both enter love mode.
I've got two villagers (A blacksmith and a fisherman) and they aren't breeding? I know the houses I have are all counted as houses, and I even have one "mega-house" (which is basically a square, ugly house with doors covering all sides). I had 2 villagers before this set but they both died from zombies, but they were able to have a baby before they died. I've waited many days and not a single baby from the current 2 villagers I have. I've even traded with both of them in hopes that it would encourage them. Has something messed up with the villager mechanics? I just don't understand it.
Hey, I've got a suggestion for your bridge that's heading towards the Nether entrance. Rather than having it suddenly change from a regular bridge to the Nether themed bridge, why don't you gradually change? Like about halfway through start adding a small amount of Nether blocks and then gradually get more and more "nether-y" until you reach the point where it could be 100% nether based.
I was watching my nephew play it back in 2013. At the time I was like "What on earth are you playing?".. 2 years later and I'm going on my 2nd year of playing it at least 3 hours a day.
Hey guys, so I've recently found a good place to build a village, but the thing is it's in a flower forest. I've tried clearing a moderately large area but it just takes so long and often I get tired of it. I've also tried water but it seems that it just makes a 1 block wide stream down to the river. So do any of you know a fast way to clear out all the flowers?
Aw man, hope you get to feeling better. I've been lurking around, watching this post, but like the poll said I was too lazy to write anything. Love this journal and it's original style, and I hope you'll get back on your feet soon!
A few hours ago I made a new directory profile and explored the Beta worlds, making sure to keep this profile and my normal up to date profile separate. After taking some time off to work on my normal world, I go into the nether to find this: http://prntscr.com/7yxvfg. No clue what's going on, all I know is that the pigman have their lower bodies/legs and arms invisible. I know it's a bug but how'd it get there and how do I fix it?
I've found 2 in about a years worth of playing. One was on a small island in my creative world (I was trying out some mods at the time) and the other one I found on the server I play on (and I still have him/her).
VolcanoBomber is correct, you don't have enough doors. 6 doors for 6 villagers (the stacked farms) is not near enough. The ratio of villagers to doors is approximately 3.5 to 1. So 2 villagers for 6 doors is not enough, hence the make another villager to keep that population. Now, if you have 6 villagers, they will think that it is overpopulated and eventually stop breeding. The first few times they did breed was just because they were 'willing' and the farmers had successfully farmed the plants. My recommendation is to either just have one level of villagers (2 Villagers) or have many different separate breeders, about 20-30 blocks apart.
Very nice building style, and I can only dream about having 100+ villagers loaded at one time. That + my computer RAM = tremendous lag. But seriously, good job on your village.

Just a thought, though. Looks amazing either way.

Yes, of course I tried that.. Tried it a few times, truthfully. It's not a big thing that I need fixed, it's just slightly creepy..
