((Jeez, has it really been a month? I'm so sorry, guys. I've been both really lazy and busy. I guess part of the reason why I stayed away for so long was because I thought the RP was dying. I'll try to read all these posts and catch up soon (even though I said that the last time).

Lol, I didn't even notice the mistake in the title until now.))

(Wow, I didn't expect you guys to get into this so much. Thanks. Please give me time to read through this and come up with some more posts. A few things I forgot to mention about Denzel: He has a few scars on his face, and he was placed on a private government watchlist. He can't afford to be seen by any outsiders, even in Old Town.)

((I'm sorry for throwing this out there so suddenly, but I'm going to be gone until the 23rd, so it'll be unlikely for me to post. In the meantime, I want to give you guys an opportunity to roleplay with each other before we dive into the next mission. Take care!))

Denzel chuckled after Wilson finished talking. "A grand introduction as always, Wilson" he replied. "I suppose I'll give a brief explanation of my death before I explain why I brought you all here. As some of you may know, I was tasked with leading a platoon of soldiers against a Russian military base. It was seen almost universally as a suicide mission. And it was. All of us were killed before we could even reach the entrance. We were a platoon doomed to die..." he had his hands behind his back and paced around the room as he explained.

"The Russian government essentially held my body for ransom. The United States, knowing that the people would be outraged if I wasn't given proper burial, reluctantly paid for my body. However, they ended up holding a fake funeral, and instead took my body and filled it with med gel and cybernetics. Brought me back to life. I became their guinea pig to create next generation of super soldiers. I escaped several months later. Looking back on it, they were stupid to not wipe my memory. Probably still had some sort of use for my mind, I assume."

He cleared his throat, then looked back at the group and continued. "Now, on to the task at hand. The American Liberation Movement is exactly what is says on the tin. We fight the corporations, gangs, and our current government. For now, we're restricted to aiding the citizens of Lynnhaven due to our numbers. We hope to expand and reach out to more of the US some day. I've contacted all of you in particular not only for your skill, but also because I know you won't be likely to betray us. I have ears all over this city. If you do accept, you may request a position that you believe you are suited for. This means infiltration, modifying tech around the base, gathering intel, or even going full assault if a mission goes to hell in a hand basket."

"I'm not going to lie: Working with us will be dangerous, with some jobs being more risky than others. If you get caught by the corps, jail time will be the least of your worries" he said, his expression looking more grim than before. Now, you don't have to accept this offer. You can even quit if you want. However, in the event that one of you gives away confidential information or otherwise tries to fight against the ALM, we'll have to capture you, edit your memories a tad, then kick you out. We've only ever had one instance of this happening, and I certainly do not want to see it repeated."

"Another thing. Remember that when you fight for the ALM, you fight for the people. We conduct operations humanely and ethically" he said, looking around at some of the people in the crowd. "Go against those ideas, and you're getting the boot. Oh, I almost forgot. If this whole 'fighting for the people' thing just isn't your style, I also have another motivator" he said. He went behind his desk and pulled out a briefcase. He scanned his fingerprints, turned it to face the crowd, and opened it, revealing stacks of US dollars underneath. "It pays well, too" he continued, before closing it again and putting it away.

"I'll have all the recruits on an operation tomorrow. Wilson will supervise. We don't have mandatory combat training for the more 'hands on' agents, because I already know what you are capable of. Until tomorrow, feel free to explore the base within reason, like the gun range, or go back into the city if you like. If you don't have a place to stay or don't want to leave, pick a bunk in the living quarters and sleep over night. There's even programmable lockers to store your belongings. That's all I have to say. Stay safe, everyone!" he said, smiling.

((Thanks for catching that for me!))
((I'm really sorry for being so lazy, guys. I hope everyone is still interested.))

The pad let out two quick beeps, indicating that the hand print was a match. The door slid open, revealing what appeared to be some sort of lobby or waiting room. a round glass table sat in the middle, with four black swiveling chairs beside it. The room was decorated with potted plants and hanging lights. The plain, white plaster walls were interrupted by "old- fashioned" doors here and there, with signs labeling them. Living quarters, main office, security, etc. Two armed and armored guards stood silently at the left and right of the room, wearing what appears to be salvaged riot gear. Wilson led the way over to the main office, on the other side of the room, letting the lift automatically stop itself after a certain length of time.

The main office still had plain walls, but to the right was a themed calendar humorously displaying various drawings of dogs doing "adult" things, like smoking a cigar of playing poker. To the right of that calendar was a map of Lynnhaven, with different colored thumb-tacs and marker ink covering specific points. The room was illuminated by a few ceiling lights. Two potted plants stood in the far left corner, and a water machine was placed a little to the right of the door, complete with an end-table that had paper cups on it. On the opposite side of the room was another door. In the center of the room was a desk with a laptop and some paper on it. Seated at the desk was a muscular old man (the same one from the introduction) with short gray hair, and a thick gray beard to match. He wore a white tank top, brown leather jacket, black army boots, and camo pants. Seeing Wilson enter with the new recruits, he stood up and smiled. Anyone with post-visual sight can clearly tell that this man's limbs are all cybernetic. Wilson turned back to face the group and spoke.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is Denzel Greeves, code named Scion. You may know him as the famous war-hero who was killed in World War III."

((Both of you are accepted. Angel, you have 3 unspent points. I guess I could have you both be people who were recruited a day prior, so you'll start the roleplay inside the base. You'll have already received the rundown that the rest of the group is about to get, hopefully sometime tomorrow.))

((Thanks for letting me know, Tommy.))

Wilson turned away from James for a moment to observe the figure approaching the group, then confirmed that it was the hacker called Strix, whom he knew very little about. "Speaking of the last person, there she is now" he said. He turned to face as much of the group as he could before speaking.

"Now that everyone is here, I want you all to follow me. You can bring your motorcycles inside, if you brought one" he said to the gathering.

Wilson turned to face the wooden sliding door and moved it to the side. After everyone enters, he will lock the door behind them to deter thieves. Inside the warehouse, there are stacked wooden crates, tarps covering some of them. Cobwebs and dust decorate the room. The dirty and broken windows barely let in light, which is why Wilson brought the lantern in and set it down before locking the door. He then approaches a part of the wall beside the door, then simply looks at it for a few seconds before placing his hand on it. In response, it emits a beep. A small section of the floor then lowers itself to a lower floor, then raises back up periodically, revealing itself to be a lift. Several poles raise from the ground around the lift, acting as basic guard rails.

"Ladies and gentlemen, follow me" he says to the group. Wilson then steps onto the lift and down the chamber, which is lined by rows of lights, then walks down a corridor lit by a few ceiling lights. At the end of it is what appears to be a mechanical sliding door, and another fingerprint scanner beside it, this one being much more obvious than the one in the warehouse. Wilson presses his hand against the glowing blue screen and waits for his hand to be scanned.

Wilson lightened up a bit after listening to Samson. "Humble as always, Dr. Lazarus" he replied back. He was also relieved to see that nobody was fighting anymore. He saw another recruit approaching. Wilson remembered him from the news. He had killed about 15 people while trying to run away from the police. The fact that his file said he couldn't talk made it even creepier. Was the agency really starting to resort to common criminals?

Wilson turned to James. "I sent out nine. Eight of you are here, so we'll have to wait a few minutes for the last person."

((Man, I really should have replied sooner.))

Wilson watched as a man wielding a baseball bat dismounted from a motorcycle and approached him. He recognized the man from the list he was given the other day. He didn't like what he heard about him, and certainly wasn't looking forward to working with him, but he figured that he must be important if the boss had requested him. He would have replied, but the rest of the recruits started to show up, one after the other. The Chinese spy, the two hackers, the famous Dr. Samson Martin himself, the sickly girl, and the foreigner... It didn't take long for the gathering to devolve into petty bickering, and Wilson found it difficult to get a word in on the matter. "Great, just what I needed today..." he thought to himself. He had enough.

"Hey!" he called out to the group, his irritation clearly showing in his voice. "Look, I know it's a little difficult to trust each other in a place like this, but I need you all to pull yourselves together, or else we're not gonna get anywhere with this" he continued, now stepping away from his spot on the wall and into the rain. "My name is Wilson Grey. I am a high ranking member of the ALM. I've been instructed to gather you all here outside the warehouse, then bring you in after either everyone shows up, or until ten minutes passes. It's too dangerous for my boss to show himself, even in a place like Old Town, so you'll have to wait to get inside until you meet him. Until then, I'd like everyone to stay calm."

((Ike, you're accepted. Sorry for the wait.))

Sorry guys, I had some technical difficulty yesterday. Good to hear everyone is still interested, though. Now, without further ado...

An old man sat on his bed, in a fairly small room, staring down at his tablet. He was in surprisingly good shape for his age, almost to the point of obviously being augmented. He could see his neatly combed hair, cleanly shaved face, gray eyes, and scars that were several decades old in the faint reflection of the screen. What he was really focused on, however, was the broadcast being displayed to him. The broadcast briefly described a server farm being constructed in an area of Lynnhaven. The man kept replaying that same section, trying to absorb every detail about this site. Suddenly, there was a knock on his door.

    "Come in, Wilson" he said.

A man walked in, aged at about 27. The brim of his cap blocked most of the light from the ceiling.

"You needed me, sir?" he asked.

"Yes" the man on the bed responded, setting the tablet aside. "You know what to do" he said, tossing a folder marked "potential recruits" towards Wilson, who promptly caught it. "Follow the instructions inside to contact them, then meet them outside the warehouse tomorrow morning" he continued. Wilson nodded, then put the folder underneath his trench coat and left the room.

    The next day...

Old Town was fairly quiet that day. It seemed that most of the common criminals that enjoy hiding in the once great section of Lynnhaven were taking shelter from the light rainfall and wind. Regardless, Wilson kept his weapons underneath his coat as he waited for the recruits to arrive, leaning against the front of the warehouse underneath the overhang. The clouds overhead, combined with Old Town's lack of electricity, made the streets somewhat dark, at least in contrast with the lantern Wilson had at his feet. He leaned against the wall, arms crossed, surveying the old wood, brick, and plaster buildings that were long ago boarded up and abandoned in favor of the quickly growing industrial areas.
