posted a message on 1.8/vanilla Islands Seed (No mainland within originally rendered distance)

Spawned on this when I fired up Minecraft for the first time in weeks. You spawn on a tiny island, and there's a couple more you can swim to. I haven't explored it much but there's no mainland in the distance you can see when you originally spawn. Seems like it'd be pretty fun to get started up on. Let me know if you use it.

Sorry, no lava and no fire is a deal breaker. There are plugins to rollback damage and to see who did it. You should take a look at them.

posted a message on Snow Golem or Snowman?
    Quote from assassin10

These threads are some of my least favorite. You know why? Because they are pointless. What would be different if they were called snowmen as opposed to snow golems? It's the whole Endermen/Farlanders or Silverfish Block naming thing again. Usually the name of the object in question doesn't even appear in the game at all!

    IE Useless thread.

This thread is useless, but only for the reason that it probably isn't changing. How many times have you said or heard the name "Creeper"? Names are very important.

And personally, I think Snowman would be much more fitting. That, or buff him up and make him actually deal some damage.

Also, allow me to suggest that you use Anchors in your original post instead of linking to posts as you have been. It'd keep people from having to reload the page.

dude he could just add it to the topics he "searched" like a reply that's the rules at least...

It's also in the rules to not complain about duplicate threads, if you have a problem, use the report feature. Else you're just blatantly shitposting.

u can use something else like a single block like for a minecart or the dock Sting_Auer suggested but if we are talking about it so maybe you could craft a thing like just like a single fence with a string or something...

    Fence + Spider String perhaps?

He never mentioned burning out, lowering durability, etc.

He just said to make it a tool so you can't place it.

Well let's pretend he did. Discuss.

    Make a dock.

2x3 box with a single door at the end facing the ocean.

it holds the boat in place.

This suggestion is redundant and unneeded.

Doors can't be placed in water? Regardless, there are many ways to ass your way around the need for this, but none of them are as practical. Personally, I would use pistons to hold my boat, but why would I bother making a complicated system to hold a boat when I could do it more effectively with a single click?

Everyone, give the man a break. This has been suggested before, but I'm unaware if it's been suggested like this. A torch that would actually burn out as you held it, progressively lowering it's durability and such. That's a damned neat idea. Still, if I recall correctly it has something to do with the lighting system which is why it can't be implemented.

Well, I often build my house out at sea in which it is convenient to travel back and forth via boats. However, a single boat usually doesn't last very long, getting lost or something. I think we should be able to hitch boats to lone fence posts placed at shore. After placing a fence at the edge of a body of water, a player would be able to ride up to it and secure his boat by right clicking, thus attaching a rope linked between his transportation and the post.

If controllable mounts are ever implemented, such as actually being able to guide the pig with a saddle, I would like to see this implemented for those as well. Thanks for reading.

    Bad video card drivers!
    -----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Yesterday I couldn't run Minecraft from it's executable but the web version worked fine. Now, neither version works.

    Any ideas?

EDIT: It was BitDefender that made it so I couldn't use the web version. Still, any ideas on making my computer work with the executable?

posted a message on Vote Point Plugin
    Original Post:
I suggested in-game to PureIndianTalent about a system where one would gain rewards for voting. He had admitted to have thought of a similar idea himself, upon further discussion I learn that he had thought coins (sheens) should be earned when voting. I suggest a different approach. Vote Points. What are Vote Points? Well, they're points... that you gain from voting! Woah! The points could be exchanged for prizes, what prizes given at what rates should be left up to the discretion of the administrators. Things like coins, items and maybe even for those who really save up their points... commands or a special in-game title! I had planned on giving more specific suggestions, but as I said that really should be left up to someone who knows something about not destroying the entire market.

My apologies if this is the wrong section to suggest a server plugin, but I didn't see anything else that would make sense. I take it the "Custom Servers & Server Mods" section is only for releases (If it would fit better there, please move this).

Currently, there is a system to gain 5,000 coins in iConomy when voting on a server through MineStatus to individual players. This is highly inflexible, so I would like to propose a better, more flexible alternative. Vote Points. You would gain one vote point for voting and of course only be allowed to vote every 24 hours. You could spend these points in a shop, the shops item(s) would be determined by an administrator. The shop could include coins, items, and even special changes to a character such as a rank or permission to use a command (I don't know anything about coding, but I assume this would be done by simply having certain items run a command on the server which could be set by an administrator). Whelp, there's my suggestion. Thanks for considering.
