The creator of the texture pack makes a specific new texture for each block and item. If they didn't make a sprite for an item, it won't have a texture. Some texture packs are made specifically for certain mods.
What texture pack are you trying to use? The only time I experienced this problem was when I tried using Misa's texture pack and Photo Realism, I think it may have been because they took up so much memory, now that I use JoliCraft and other simpler texture packs this doesn't happen.
Is there any what to have a texture pack that is patched that you can use with mods that have items in them.
Mods like Aether mod, Clay soldier, and Mo'Creatures. When ever I get a texture pack downloaded and I patch it, its messes with mods like these that have items in them by making them invisible, is there any way to fix or prevent this?
