darthrevan43's method works well enough, but whenever I do this I lose my internet connection and thus can't connect to Minecraft.net. I can get into the game and run a functional LAN server over Hamachi if I make the metric switch after logging in, but before starting the server; however, other players' skins do not load properly, and switching back after starting the server prevents anyone from joining.
Is there a way to keep Hamachi as the "default" network but have the computer access the internet through another network?
In-game name? Blahsadfeguie How long have you been playing Minecraft? Ever since Alpha 1.4 or so. Do you have any experience as a mod/OP? I have run a server mainly for friends and invited guests pretty much since we first got into the game. Do you have any experience/skills which might benefit us? I am competent and resourceful at fighting and gathering. How old are you? 20. Would you be willing to donate monthly in return for additional commands? If I come across money to spare, and if my experiences with the server are favorable, I would.
I haven't really done the roleplaying thing before and I've always been curious about it. It sounds pretty neat, and I'm glad I caught this thread while it's fresh. :L
Me and my friends were actually looking for some co-op maps to try, but I can understand why they aren't as popular as single player maps. There should be servers made specifically for co-op maps such as these, where players who can't make their own servers can just go to the thread/website and put up a request for a particular map and date. Heck, I might even be willing to do something like that, as long as not a whole lot of people will be on at once.
But I digress. We'll definitely try this map out tonight, or soon. We might even record/stream it or something.
Check out mine too? 0.o
We can only play one co-op map at a time. xD
But we'll probably check out yours after we finish this one. :L

A whole new game mode in which players race each other in minecarts, all the while shooting arrows or throwing TNT at each other in various MarioKartesque shenanigans.
To start, minecarts would get some revamping:
-W and S would allow you to speed up or slow down, respectively
-A and D shifts your cart to an adjacent track
-Space for a bunny hop
-If you bump into another cart, they both recoil a bit
-If you fall off the track, or get killed, a flying chicken (or something) carries you back on
Maps will have to be premade, or there could even be an engine that generates a track in your existing worlds.
Items appear along the track in the form of floating, spinning chests. Touching one will make an item appear in your inventory. (You can't carry more than what will fit in your hotbar.)
Possible Items:
-Iron Sword, set to 4 durability
-5 arrows and a bow if you don't already have one
-TNT which triggers upon placement
-A Mob Spawner with a random hostile mob inside (creepers are rare, and ghasts, rarer)
-Bucket of water (or rarely lava)
-Random food
-Flint and Steel set to 1 durability
-Booster track, which replaces the track directly in front of you when used
Along the way there may be some track switches and redstone circuits to allow for shortcuts and sabotage. Some tracks will require you to throw switches or shift tracks in order to avoid certain peril, such as tracks suddenly turning toward lava pools.
I'm not particularly making a request, just putting up a random idea I had a few minutes ago. I think it would be an interesting server/client mod. And I don't know much about modding, but it looks like it might be possible as just a server mod, as I understand it can be a pain for players to install a mod just to join one server. If not, there could be a single player mode where the AI carts are manned by passive mobs (pigs, sheep, cows, chickens, wolves). Anyway, other opinions are welcome :L
A very interesting (and challenging) adventure map! Just know that some rooms can be "cheated" past without actually breaking the rules. For example, in the room with the complicated redstone TNT circuits, I just got lazy and crafted a redstone torch in front of the iron door. And in the room directly after that, if you hit one floor panel and quickly run back to the previous room, you can easily survive.
Also, there are some unexpected things that can break the game - particularly random spawns. A creeper in the "guard room" blew up the first row of stairs, which created a pit and an open firing space for all of the skeletons and zombies to drop into, unable to be reached... Not only did I have to use my crafting table as a stepping stool to ascend, but there were too many mobs in the pit to avoid all the skeleton fire in time to get torches down. After my 5th death or so I got so frustrated I had to turn on Peaceful.
And yeah, the lava pit got me in the end... xD
I'll definitely have to try the next two Escapecrafts. :biggrin.gif:
