Pyro_Hazard posted a message on [Requesting] Time Winder Mod (Turn back time and fix your mistakes!)Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
I'm not a coder, but I understand the technical side of things.
How far back would the time winder go? If you were to make a mod like this, the server would have to constantly save images of the game, including copies of the player's inventory, mod positions, mod direction facing, mob health, etc....
Quote from Black_Saturn»
Actually it rewinds just the player. It teleports him back to his position a few seconds ago, not influencing the surroundings.
After you fell into a lava pit, activate it and send you back to the spot where you got hit by an arrow before falling into lava.
So from my understanding, you can only go back one set amount of time, and that amount of time is short (say, 5 seconds). This is doable. From my nonexistent coding knowledge, the way to do this would be to record the coordinates of the player, say every 10 game ticks, and store a new value in the variables (or whatever you store information in) once they are 5 seconds old. There would be 100/10 or 10 sets of coordinates stored at any one time. When the player uses the item, it teleports them to the coordinates stored in the correct variable and then applies the same effect as milk. Simple, and not remotely resource intensive.
This is what I would imagine at least, I have absolutely no experience with java.

tertrih posted a message on [Windows/Mac/Linux] [Version 1.1.2] Map item viewer, editor, and painter, create from the command lineDownload: Map Item Editor (map_0.dat)Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Updated for Minecraft 1.7.2!
Includes new map colours
Windows, Mac OS X and Linux supported!
Follow me on twitter @tertrih
Support the development of this mod by giving a donation
Note: Map items made with the MapItemEdit can be viewed by anyone in the game, i.e. they don't need to download MapItemEdit to be able to see the map items you made with MapItemEdit. The program is only needed to actually create custom map items.
Ubuntu fully supported. The included binary should work on other linux OSs. The linux source is available on the sourceforge page, under the files tab, so you can compile it for your favourite linux OS if you so choose.
Includes script to easily use in Mac OS X!
Requires mono to work on Mac OS X, but includes a link to the mono download page.
Changes in 1.1.2
Allows you to create a banner (resulting in multiple map files) in a single click
Changes in 1.1.1
Added line, rectangle, and clear tools
Added command line picture export option
Changes in 1.1.0
Command line options added
-create newmapitem.dat picture.bmp
-nomaintain

Map item files can be dragged and dropped into the program
Changes in 1.0.9
Included old colours for people using versions older than 1.7.2
Changes in 1.0.8
Included proper support for transparency
Changes in 1.0.7
Added small mode if you are running a resolution with a height below 800
Changes in 1.0.6
Fixed a bug where shades of white would be added to the minecraft map as transparent
Added a paint option that allows you to paint any colour supported by minecraft maps directly to the canvas
Changes in 1.0.5
MapItemEdit now accepts the dimension to be either TagByte or TagInt. This doesn't change the user experience of the program, just a low level change that should remove problems some people have been having.
Changes in 1.0.4
Fixed a bug with the fonts
Added the new map colours introduced in Minecraft 1.7.2.
Changes in 1.0.3
Export your minecraft map files as a bitmap (*.bmp) file
Changes in 1.0.2
Use any font installed on your computer to add text to a map item
Hi guys! I have been working on a program that can view and edit minecraft map items. These are located in your minecraft save folder under the data folder, and are named map_0.dat, and increasing the number from there.
I made it mostly because I was interested in making a minecraft tool, and thought making a map item editor would be a relatively easy thing to pull off. In the end it took a bit longer, because I also decided to make a named binary tag library (the data format used by minecraft) to use in the program.
My initial version of the program wasn't as robust as a result. Using the library made my life a lot easier, as all the business with big and little endians and the bits and bytes is handled by the library. If you are interested, you can check it out here NBTSharp.
Map items in minecraft can only display a small number of colors. Each map item is made up of 16384 pixels, which is 128*128 pixels. When you import a picture, the program takes a sample from your imported picture for each of pixels in the map item. The color matching is limited, but it gets the job done. Besides pictures, you could use a picture editor to write text into a picture and convert that using the program.
The program gives the option of either stretching or squash your picture into the 128 pixels, or keeping the aspect ratio the same as the original picture.Another feature of the program is it allows you to edit the properties of the map items. xCenter and zCenter are the point at which the map is based. It defaults to 10000 for new files. Changing scale allows you to make close up or zoomed out maps. Dimension of 0 is for world map, and 1 for nether maps.
Enjoy, and keep minecrafting! -

I like a genetic laboratory-themed dungeon. Sadly it doesn't fit into the storyline unlike Dr. Psycho who deals with machinery.

Hey guys. Progress update:
I managed to finish Heracles (Remade him twice) and just encountered a little problem.
It will delay the first release of the mod...
So, very sorry guys.
Don't worry. I'm fixing it...
1
Progress update on Heracles:
Having some difficulties making his face... A little suggestions?
1
After 6 hours of work, this is what I have made for Heracles. I hope I don't mess up in the end.
1
Announcement:
Medea and Heracles will be getting their own model.
Reasons:
-Medea's cape cannot be fitted into a Steve model otherwise the walking animation will look weird
-Do all that muscles Heracles has look like it can be fitted into a Steve model? NO

Have you ever watch the anime Fate Zero or the rest of the series? If no, you better do some serious Google searching or read the wikia.
Current Development Team:
-Coder: Flemmli97
-Texturer: Black_Saturn
Rules:
After summoning a servant at the cost of your level, you will lose 1 level every Minecraft day as the magic power to sustain the servant. If you don't have enough, the servant dies. If you die, the servant is set free from your control and will disappear after 1 Minecraft day. However, if you command your servant to kill other players, masters, or mobs, the experience orbs the kill dropped will be picked up by your servant and if enough (For 1 level), you don't have to lose 1 level to sustain your servant for the next day.
Each player (Or more than 7 of them) has to craft a Summoning Altar and place it down as a block. To activate the Summoning Ritual, the player has to right-click the altar (A GUI will pop up) and press "Start Ritual". 5 levels will be deducted from the Summoner and the ritual will not be available if he/she does not have enough levels.
Servant Summoning Catalyst
Catalyst is an item/artifact that has ties to a certain Servant. Catalysts come in different types:
Medallion
-Comes in all 7 classes (Saber Medallion, Archer Medallion, etc)
-Only drops from Artifact Block
-Increases the chance of getting the Servant class of the Medallion used
-Place on the Catalyst Table when summoning
-Will not be consumed after used for summoning
-Tooltip will specify the chance of getting the class Servant in Inventory
-Can be upgraded with resources. Upgrades increase the chance of summoning the class Servant. Upgrades are lost after Summoning
-Stacks with Medallions of the same class, up to 16
Rare Artifact
-Only drops from Artifact Block
-Tool-tip will specify which country the Rare Artifact came from
-Increases the chance of getting Servants from the country if used when summoning
-Does not stack
Artifact Block
-Found underground like ores
-Has same rarity as Emerald ore
-Drops a Medallion or Rare Artifact when mined
Note: Summoning with or without catalyst is totally optional.
The Catalyst needs to be placed on a Catalyst Table. If you want to use a Catalyst for your Summon, you need to place the Catalyst Table near the altar (2 blocks distance). It has maximum 2 inventory space, which can only be placed with medallions or Rare Artifacts.
The Servant:
Command Seal:
Currently Available Servant list:
Arthuria Pendragon, Diarmuid, Gilgamesh, Lancelot, and a Chicken.
I'm planning to make Iskander, Hassan, Gilles, Medea, Emiya, Cuhhulain, and Heracles.
Note: Flemmli is currently busy on programming their animations.
Planned Contents:
If possible, in the future we might add Servant Bond, which is the relationship between you and your Servant. It is affected by the way you treat them and their personality. If the relationship between you and your Servant is good, it is less likely for you to use a Command Seal to make him/her obey you. Also, Servant Personality. Some are Heroic, some are Sadistic, and some are Stubborn. This will greatly affect your interaction with him/her.
