That's an option. It's also okay to use any plugins that ONLY affect the multiplayer aspect of the game rather than the core mechanics - economy plugins, land-claiming/protection, that sort of thing... the stuff that you wouldn't notice if you were the only player on the server, and which would have been part of Minecraft from the beginning if it had been a multiplayer game from the beginning.
The presence or absence of borders depends on the server's hardware and how many players you'll have.

Just Minecraft. You know, that game where you mine and craft things? Every server in existence right now is some hunger games skyblock prison MCMMO pokemon spleed arena BULLCRAP, or has some ridiculously elaborate spawn location that takes a half-hour to find your way out of, or teleports you to some random spot 20,000 blocks away from everyone else, or lets people "vote" for resources instead of actually earning them by playing the game, or some other ridiculous garbage. When was the last time someone actually set up a real Minecraft server?

All I want is a server that has:
1) Basic user-driven land-protection of some kind: Factions, Towny, the thing with the golden shovels, whatever
2) Chest-protection: LWC, Lockette, whatever
3) Some kind of mapping plugin like Dynmap
4) A currency/economy plugin like iConomy
5) NO vote-whoring, or at least no vote-whoring for resources that are supposed to be finite, like diamonds/emeralds
6) NO random garbage plugins or general weirdness. No Hunger games, no prison, no MCMMO, no spleef, JUST MINECRAFT! (Kits and teleportation are tolerable)
Is this really so unreasonable? Why is it impossible to find a server like this?
