Discord is neat -- but its inherently fragmented, with countless channels run by different people and groups, no public face or automatic way to join or even know about specific ones. Its a chat app. Its not a replacement for a unified public forum. I've used it, I have my own, but I'm not really impressed and don't really us it much.
Not everyone does redit (or discord), and broad categories of general, suggestions, and help is limiting and narrow.

I was just thinking last night how Minecraft Forum is essentially dead, comments on threads having become so rare -- yet it's still sad to see it literally and officially die, and is concerning when it comes to how recontact the followers of specific old threads.
This is where I first found mods, and later where I publically released my own mods, modpack, and set up a thread for my old modded 1.6.4 server -- as well as made contact with those interested in similar experiences. It's sad to see it go.
I doubt the game as a whole would have turned out as it did or became as big as it did without the forums to introduce maps, mods, servers, suggestions, and general ideas and forming a hub where a community could and did grow.

I can mod my game fine, just go here for a tutorial on how to put in mods, mods folder should also still work. It is more tedious though
That gets me MinecraftForge, but fml doesn't work; none of the real content mods load at all. -

I'm less thrilled with the launcher. Staying logged in by default seems like a problem if more than one person uses the same computer (all ready kids banned from servers are quick to say, "My brother/sister did it on my using my account." Also, I was using MultiMC (which doesn't work with the new launcher so far), and the profiles, as I can tell, are only for different official / vanilla version, whereas I'm use to having instances that may be of the same version -- some vanilla, some with different mod combos. But, I've seen where the new launcher is still being expanded, so I hope this kind of function will be added (and/or MultiMC will update to support it). -

darn it why are they trying to make it harder and why are they nerfing stuff its ridiculous are they trying to copy youtube "lets take a good thing and ruin it"
I think a lot of this is catering to long-time players who've gotten very good at the game and want a challenge because it seems to easy for them (the people who otherwise would use mods and plugins to make it harder, or else find something really hard to do). But in the process they forget about the average / intermediate players who like the game at its current difficulty, and risk making it too hard and frustrating for noobs just starting out. Of course, they "make games [they] like to play," (which is very good in itself), but they have been playing they're game from the beginning, so its probably very easy to everyone at Mojang, too. But some of us would rather invent are own challenges without nerfy and difficulty increases, and that get forgotten. -

Everyone I've heard from has seen bugs -- this is the first time I've ever found a significant bug (one that severely effected game play), never saw then in 1.4.x. Now its practically unplayable. The inventory bug that makes items get drop or simply disappear, or rarely turns give an extra (drop one while the original stays in the inventory) and the related crafting bug that pushing things off the crafting table, cause the orginal item to be crafted instead, or follows the wrong recipe (three planks making a button instead of a half-slab). They're constant, everywhere, and make me want to rage-quit, and everyone I know has them constantly screwing with everything (especially crafting) -- I can't believe you haven't seen them! -
Mar 13, 2013BlackJar72 posted a message on 1.5 Redstone Update Released!Didn't like it; well, more like totally hate it -- all I see are infuriating new bugs that make it seem more like Mine-don't-craft. OK, I don't really use redstone (except in potions), so the redstone block is nice (finally something I can do with it). The only real difference I noticed was that the crafting and inventory system were totally buggy. I now have to go painfully slow to craft at all, and it still doesn't always work. Besides that, items are dropped when I don't when simply moving them around or using a chest, and sometimes just disappear into nothing ( a stack each of wood, stone brick, and slabs were lost this way). I did get a free pick because after making 3 another was dropped from nowhere, but this stuff makes me want to rage-quit. The only reason I run it is that the server I usually play on up-dated -- otherwise I'd use MultiMC to get out of the update, and actually for SSP 1.4.7. All this makes me want to rage-quit !Posted in: News
I know that there's always a bit of a WIP characteristic to new releases, but I'm not sure this was ready for public release. I really am looking forward to 1.5.1 in hopes that some of this will be fixed. - To post a comment, please login.

This gets its name from the time of day / light conditions twilight, like between night and day or the edge of night -- its a basically a dark fantasy faerie world, full of wild animals, wicked gnomes, various skeletal creature, ruins, etc. -- it has nothing to do with the twilight books / movies. There are no vampire, werewolves, and mentally unstable young girls in it.

Also, not sure how or if it interacts with AtmosMobs -- minecraft runs with both, and some atmosmobs appear, but not all types or as many (hard to tell since there is overlap in the creature types and you can't always find the mob of your choice naturally spawned quickly or one demand anyway).
If I ever get a computer that can handle Minecraft in all its glory I'll being playing with these creatures.
